Ok and yes it is him

Aww, he’s the best. Now I have a serious urge to replay. But no, I must write and ignore the siren’s call of games.

Yeah, I have no issues with the “two ladies” comment in The Daily Slander staying, 'cause like I said previously, my m!MC is rather fem presenting on purpose because he doesn’t feel the need to fully conform with his gender identity based on the “current” fashion trends.

He likes soft, comfy clothing (how unseemly!) and has a strong dislike of sports, preferring more scholarly pursuits (such a whimpy nerd!) and is not particularly moved (at all, really) by the opposite sex. How his scandal stat in-game has stayed so low, I couldn’t begin to guess, but we haven’t even really gotten started in that area of things, so there’s a lot of time for that to change.

This is on the “jilted” route, though I am looking forward to more ‘idiot papa’ nonsense on the dept route once a bit more of the demo comes out. Both will seek being businessmen, too, so we’ll see how the flavor differs once we get to the finale of both core branches somewhere down the line.

Oh yeah! That scandal stat will start coming into play in Chapter Four. I have plans (strokes a white cat while cackling evilly.)

I may also add some clothing options in the character creator now that you’ve mentioned your MC likes soft clothes. Could be good to define whether MC is following fashion trends! Thank you for the idea.

PROGRESS UPDATE
I’ve seen some writers doing progress updates, thought it was a good idea so I’ll do it too. I was honestly quite lazy this month (to be fair, it’s not always laziness, IRL interferes sometimes) but on the days I was productive I was very productive, so my progress is not too bad. 34 000 words for Chapter Two are written so far. The chapter should probably be around 55 000 words when done.

I wrote quite arbitrarily this month too, jumping from section to section and writing a little bit of everything. My job now is to smooth everything out, finish the scenes I only wrote half-way and make it all seamless.

And then I have to edit everything, integrating MC’s personality stats and sorting out my coding issues finally.

Sooo, if I’m productive, I may have it all done by mid-June. If not, end of June probably.

This was an ABSOLUTE joy to read. I just finished the “financially destitute” route and it was amazing from start to finish. Is there a website or link that i can subscribe to see upcoming updates?

As someone who inhales historical romance, particularly regency, Victorian, and Edwardian novels/games…

I am vibrating. This was so witty and funny. I love that the characters are all so silly. I’m actually really intrigued by the melodramatic himbo who is secretly serious. I must know his secrets

The flirty/rakish Marquess/future-Duke is also interesting. I enjoy his dynamic with the sheltered girl.

Haven’t tried the jilted lover route, yet, but…djkfkakdmg. I will be watching this WIP closely.

Hey! Thank you so much! I don’t have any notification system set up yet, but I could add you and anyone else who may be interested to a mailing list? Message me your email and I’ll notify you when I update.

Thank you! I’m so pleased you like it.

Buckle up, both Lancelot and William (the Marquess) will be a rollercoaster ride! (William’s romance can kick in next chapter  if you jump through some hoops…)

My fav part so far is my jilted-lover F!MC getting challenged to a duel and her going “you know what? Fine. You want a duel, I’ll give you a duel.”

I’m having some trouble getting my gambling-debt M!MC built the way I want, so I haven’t gotten to London with him yet.

Yaye! You’re duelling! I had so much fun writing the duelling scene , hope you’ll enjoy it just as much when I’m done with the chapter. (MC who doesn’t do that gets their own different scene too, so no worries if you don’t choose that option.)

Edit: if you’re having trouble with his build, do tell me if there’s something missing that you’d like MC to do or say. I’m still in the process of revamping MC’s personality stats, so I’ll take any asks or wants into account.

It is very much on brand for this particular MC to pull stuff like that, so I very much will choose that option. :face_with_tongue:

Regarding the M!MC, my problem is that I’m kinda-sorta modeling him after an old RP character of mine (who was an ex-cavalry officer), which means… I’m trying to get him good at dancing and dueling (and horse-riding). I mean, he was in a war, right? He should know how to use weapons.

A lot of authors use discord & create an announcements section for updates etc.

Also allows for more engagement :head_shaking_vertically:

Is anyone else having issues with the demo link/COG demos not working in general right now? I’m dying to play the update :sob:

Ah, don’t worry, he can still shoot and ride - he’s just not a prodigy at it. But there’s also options to improve all the stats (at least in the prologue, I didn’t really do much accomplishment stat adding in Chapter One. There’ll be plenty opportunity in Chapter Two again.) I might build up a purely athletic MC who can dance and ride and do it all though, in fact, I think I will  Not sure why I didn’t.

I’ll be honest, I’m not a fan of Discord. Just had a few bad experiences with it. If it’s really something people want, I’ll do it though.

It’s working fine now on my side. Are you still having issues?

Sorry, my introvert MC is all about the books.

Well, no rest for you, I’m dragging you bookworms into your own drama, I’m afraid :smiling_face_with_horns:

The duelling scene got quite long, so I felt it wasn’t fair for non-duelling MC’s to just sip tea on the sidelines and miss the first quarter of the chapter.

I’m picturing the non-dueling MCs sipping tea and gossiping with each other watching the dueling MCs duel, now.

Really? Cause I asked Levi what was wrong and he ran away. So as far as I know, there is no duel happening for my MC. And if there is, can I name a champion in my place? Griff, get back here!! Or Lance.

If you choose to be empathetic he won’t duel with you. You need to choose the fiery option that says something along the lines of ‘he wants a duel! I’ll give him a duel!’ But it’s fine not duelling, non-duelling MC has some very funny scenes and more interactions with RO’s (or at least, I was amused while writing it. But I’m far too easily amused lol.) It’s less action packed but still definitely worthwhile, I think!

Ok. You made it sound in your post like my poor MC would still get dragged into a duel. Now an intellectual debate, he’d win. For matters of a sword, he always has Griff to hide behind…I imagine.

Oh sorry! I phrased that badly. If you don’t duel you have something completely different. No worries, you won’t be near any pistols or swords!

Huh, you know, I should really have an intellectual build MC too. I don’t know why I was so gung-ho about only having charming or beautiful MC builds. I did have a reason while writing the Prologue, but now I can’t remember why. It must not have been a very good reason…
