Pretty big. I would stay two squares away from it. Just in case.

Would have looked cooler if it was a Knight.

Had you thought of writing a game with “Chess competition” as future project?

It is not necessary to turn it into a chess game, just write it like "Slammed ! " did, give background story and setting about a future fictional chess tournament with slight general stats on winning a chess game… but concentrate more on character interaction , and meeting chess players from around the world :slight_smile:

He has such a WiP already! The Bovine project is taking its place at the moment though.

Eh, we don’t look that much alike.

@Eric_knight
I plan on writing a horror/dark fantasy/romance/chess interactive novel called 64 Knightmares, though only once I become a Master. That could be several years away.

In the meantime, Winter of the Bovine, The Enchanter’s Misery, and my Magician saga will take precedence.

For the third year in a row, I played in the Mid American Open chess tournament, and for the third time in a row, it was the best tournament of my life! This year, I got wins against a 1539, 1546, 1625, and 1645, and a loss against a 1655 for a performance rating of 1850. I played several of my best games yet, my rating went up 40 points to a new peak of 1694, and I earned $267, so the tournament was a big success for me! Check out my blog to read more and to view all five annotated games.

Damn, that’s great. I was never any good at chess, but I try because my dad was a legend at it. Always beats me three minutes in.

It’s always nice to read this thread and see what’s up.

My dad always used to beat me as a kid, but since I started studying, he’s no match, haha. In the past year since we started playing again, my record against him is 62 wins, 1 draw and 0 losses.

Stick it, dad!

God that would seriously tee me off if I was him.

He said that basically thought every time he was going to play a game, he would automatically lose. The upside, though, is playing me so much made him a better player. He played in the tournament, too, which was his first one, and got a good result of 3 wins and 2 losses in the Under 1250 section.

In other (slightly less important :smirk::smirk::smirk:) chess news:
Fabiano Caruana, the #1 American chess Super Grandmaster and the #3 player in the world, just won the Candidates tournament, which means he’ll be challenging Magnus Carlsen for the World Championship this year. Caruana is the first American to have a shot at the WC title since Bobby Fischer in the 1970s. :slight_smile:

I’m not sure what the 1st guy’s on about, but I’m pretty sure they’re wrong. They can’t use they to refer to 1 person, they should use singular pronouns

:wink: :slight_smile:
