Hello, I’m J. J. Guest. Not new to interactive fiction, but new to ChoiceScript.
I would like to have footnotes in my game, in the vein of Terry Pratchett or Flann O’Brien. Is there a built-in way to make the text smaller in the footnotes, or would I need to create some custom CSS?
Currently, there’s no way to add separate section/body nor to add custom style aside from bold or italic. Adding custom syntax to accomodate that shouldn’t take long if you’re familiar with Javascript and HTML, but that would go into license region which would be best if you consult to CoG/Dan first.
Would having the footnotes as choices work? You could send the reader back to the main text after reading them. I know it’s not exactly the same thing, but that’s how the author’s commentary for A Midsummer Night’s Choice was done.
