Project "Knightly Tale"

I didn’t see any part of v

@Goshman
I didn’t get to play chapter 5. It stopped at the end of chapter 4?

same here

I have found something odd. Now that I’m replaying the game, the option to flirt with Sir Orville (the Black Prince’s squire) disappeared, and the wording seems to give the impression that he is interested in men, but my character isn’t.

I believe the sexuality variable is broken in the hastilude scene, since I was able to flirt with Orville when my character stated his homosexuality during the escorting of Lady Isabelle’s maid-in-waiting. I’m not sure, though, I don’t understand anything about coding.

@Everyone

You have to start all the way from the beginning of the game. You wont get the option to go to chapter 5 if you start in chapter 4.

@Goshman

I’m not even going to bring up what YOU allowed the king to do to me. From now on my MC will be named Rene Descartes…

@ CaballeroDeAndromeda thanks for keying us know. :slight_smile:

The update isn’t working for me

@Goshman would you happen to be Canadian as i have noticed that you spell honour and valour with a U.

ok,i finally decided to marry Lady Cailen of Sauveur,and i was able to eventually meet her high standers her very very VERY HIGH!!!standards ,and im probably an idiot,scratch that i am an idiot, but it took me 3 attemps to woo her,i mean i figured out i needed high courtesy and nobility but as far as i can tell you need 60 of each,which i failed at a few times even when picking to level ONLY those skills, i mean the best i can manage is a 64% nobility and a 60% courtesy,plus i dont think she comes with any money or societal advantages,i guess what im asking is are you planning a long term payoff to her(maybe help me make some really good battle plans or manor resource management superior to what i would get from the other spouses so i get an extra turn or somthing when improving my lands,wouldnt be to crazy i would think,from what i got with her scene at the castle she was just as smart if not smarter than my 64% nobility character)

also somthing i found wierd,usually my character has the stats to rush the king as soon as he sees them and gets a half bounty for it,but apparently the character i used to marry Lady Cailen,gets a half bounty regardless of the fact that i for the most part just tell the other knights "the kings over there"in which case i would think the 3 or 4 other knights i charged the king with would be pissed at how little of the pie they are getting, especially the knight that actually fought the king

@Matteller
I agree.

hope to see a debug version cause my mc has become so weak. dont really care about the reputation tweak but the stat tweaks is brutal most of the requirement stays the same but your are downgraded. and if you playing a overall balanced character is really not that rewarding anymore now you just have to stick to one stat and hope its useful.

@djma46
I agree.

@vampierkid22, @kanani40, @djma46, @noisyminor
I have no idea why the debug option suddenly refuses to work. There should be no issue with it but obviously I must be wrong. I’ll try and look it over. I noticed that the files were perhaps not synced properly, which might be cause for the issue? I really have no idea.

@trinnie
Thank you for bringing that to my attention. In the squire hastilude scene, I had mistakenly set the “Yes” option when asked if you preferred the gender as your romantic interest always to set you as heterosexual. That’s now fixed. Now answering “Yes” to the ladies sets you as heterosexual and “Yes” to the men as homosexual.

@CaballeroDeAndromeda
I would not know what you mean. Me? Allow something to happen to the MC? Pfhaw! Surely you were not foolish enough to spit out something about a royal bastard in the middle of the throne room with the whole court in attendance? :stuck_out_tongue:

@Raulin
There’s life outside of North America, you know. I’m Finnish.

@matteller
Lady Cailen is an excellent administratior and political animal to have by your side. She will become very useful around halfway through Chapter V when the hastilude ends and the intrigue begins. But that isn’t why her standards are so high. The reason for that is that Cailen as a character as high standards. We’ve all met those kinds of people in our lives where you just can’t be good enough to satisfy them.

That discrepancy after the Valmagne King’s capture was supposed to be fixed waaaay back when. Apparently not though. Now it should only be a commendation if you capture the King of Valmagne, no ransom money.

@djma46
The tweak was supposed to make it so that it was more brutal, but at the same time a balanced character would still be able to get all the possible options. Until Chapter V the highest the requirements were was at 64%, which is within the reach of a balanced character. I added some boosts to your stats now to bring it back a little bit. In Chapter V, expect to still be a little bit brutalized because the hastilude requires pretty harsh stats in order to be a champion.

What are the stats to have a kid your first try and being able to send your brother around to study instead of him being a monk

@vampierkid222
Right now it’s just according to my whim. There is no stat requirement. I will end up putting a random variable there to govern it once I’m done with Chapter V. In essence it will be a d20 roll. A possible bastard with Marguerite is already governed by such a roll.

For the brother, nobility needs to be 54 or higher.

Ah ok thanks :slight_smile:

@Goshman
so has the debug issue been fixed?

@djma46
Now it should be. Worked at my end at least.

@Goshman I only said Canada because I know that in Canada they have the letter U in those words. Sorry for being presumptuous.
