War line 967 non existent variable “martial”.
Edit: Same error PotionMaster just reported
After achieving great things, capturing the duke, getting both archer groups to fire correctly the button that said next when pressed resulted in a “line 406 could not be found.” Or something. Might want to look into that.
How much will the nickname we get after the battle with the King of Alenagne be used later on? Personally I wouldn’t mind if people called my MC King’s Pit similarly to some ASoiaF nicknames such as Kingslayer and the Mountain.
found this error
War line 967: Non-existent variable ‘martial’
Calm your tits about the martial variable error. I fixed it, but dropbox never synced. It’s now updated.
@Lubu343
There is no code on line 406 of that particular chapter. Line 406 is empty space between two paragraphs and is well before the section you were in. I have not the slightest of ideas how that has managed to happen.
@Caruzzo
If you are nicknamed that, then yes it’ll be referred to more than any other nickname you might have. Especially in other courts once the word gets out who the slayer was.
The battle so far has great amount of realism that a battle needs to make u feel U are changing the outcome of battle and thanks for taking my comment on the archers range and arrow types and sliding them in love the story show far the knights didn’t see them coming lol let loose
But no one expects the Finnish inquisition with high enough piety you could be the Grand inquisitor , or Chapter Master of the crusader knights
@thayron22
Thanks, I aim to be as realistic as possible, even if this isn’t a strictly correct historical medieval world in every detail. One of my main points with this story was to go against the popular medieval depictions in movies and TV shows and even a lot of books.
@Pepper
The MC won’t be directly involved with any inquisitions that may end up happening (probably won’t, at least in this story) but there will be an option for the MC to make some efforts against the infidels of the Orient in later life. Whether you end up abdicating from your titles in Norwall in favour of dedicating your life as a crusader, perhaps seeking to climb into the rank of Master or Grand Master, well that’s up to you. If I go with the plans I have right now, that will be one of three major branches that will lead to the end of the MC’s life in very different circumstances, this one being in the service of God.
@Goshman
Do any of these 3 paths include becoming king?
No. All three can involve climbing high into the privy council of a King and be a major influence, but the MC will never be crowned as King of anything.
Maybe the king of the infidels in the orient?
@Goshman
Please can you make one where I become king? Maybe a ending where I successfully launch a coup.
The details shall be my little secrets until I actually write them down as part of the story. The MC will not be crowned King of a crusader state, if you meant that.
Edit: No crowning as king. Even if you managed to somehow mount a successful coup, the nobility along with everyone with even half a claim to the throne would rip you to shreds with war and assassins.
Even in the name of the church
There will be crusader states, but you will not be King of any of them.
Having a pretty tiara on your head doesn’t make you powerful. You can rule a realm without sitting on a throne, if you get close enough to the man who does sit on it.
I don’t mind just having my barony and expanding it bit by bit till I have a nice bit of land a lot of money and power.
Look at me I am a king with my “tiara”.
Can you build a city comparable to the capital or even greater. Or usher in the golden age of industrial and agricultural efficiency . Or make your barony the center of trade?
How big a role will MC’s younger siblings have as story advances?
@vampierkid222
Finally someone who gets it.
@Pepper
In short, yes. But the MC in this story is only laying the groundwork during his lifetime. Most of the growth will star picking up after his lifetime and well into that of his descendants.
@Caruzzo
That depends on who you marry your siblings off to. If you end up without children or die prematurely, he will be Baron Aswicdale and inherit everything you had land-wise. If you sire your own children, he can become basically anything, but as he is part of your noble family you have the responsibility as kind of the “head” of the family to find marriages and lands for them to govern or inherit. Later in life your brother and sister can be a great boon to you when you seek to build further or even in war, or they can just be an unfortunate footnote of history, married into a noble family that died off a few generations later with nothing to show for it.
