I think good stats could be something like “Introversion vs Extroversion”, where you can choose to make Lizzy shy and withdrawn ala Mary, or outspoken and flirty like Lydia or"Tradition vs Modern", where you can decide just how much Lizzy follows the rules of society and such.
This is a good idea! I hadn’t though of specific traits for the game, but back then there was a lot based on the reputation of a woman. Intelligence is a common stat, as is willpower. People also tend to make stats to show how much each character likes you, such as:
Darcy 50 .

Forcing Bingley on the players not only makes for a bad game, but it’s also inaccurate to the book.
I actually think having Bingley there as a potential option makes for an interesting choice. It makes it seem more like an unexplored choice in the story, rather than this game being just a strict adaptation of the book.
The idea that my “mother” was pushing me to go for Bingley didn’t bother me so much, it was more things like, no matter how I acted to Darcy he will always love me, no matter what I say or do the outcome feels the same with Collins. I could be the biggest jerk/turn off and people would still love me and feel attracted to me.
As for Bingley, I agree with shettiejw that he’d be an interesting choice, but I think I tried to get with him throughout the story for the purpose of screwing Jane over ('cause I wanted to be mean like that).
But then, I think that’s the problem with not having stats, without stats you’re not tracking anything unless the choice is a branching one, so unless the choice branches off the story and goes it’s complete on separate route it might as well be a *fake_choice
Despite those minor problems, I plan to keep track of this game 'cause it seems pretty cool!
