I love this game. Characters and story are well written.
I really hope a sequel, the ending is clearly abrupt and quite disappointing in my opinion.
I really loved this, great writing and story. The only complaint I have is the epilog. Is there going to be a part 2? 5 stars on the app store
The problem with a Part 2 is that there’s multiple endings to Part 1, and…well, a key player in the sequel may or may not have been conceived, if’n you get me.
I liked the game and love the cover illustration. I do however wonder which characters you can romance.
I tried to romance Emeri trice now but no luck so far. I got the scene with the stars and fate where Emeri blushed but nothing happened after that.
I did get Morgan’s but his is rather straighforward. Yvaine’s wasn’t hard to get either. Haven’t tried Gaia yet.
But…but the Holy Grail!
Are we never to see the Black Knight? And The Knights Who Say Ni? And French Taunting?
…on second thought, maybe not.
so your saying because there is different endings is a problem lol, there is a lot of games already that have the same “problem” as you call it xD lords of aswick, sabres of infinity…
as for the child there is a lot of options to make it happen, but the point of a " arthur" cog game is to see different paths not linear ones
I replayed multiple times, yes, that enjoyable. I think I came across a gender flip error. At first, I was like… wth? who’s this new character? So I clicked next and that’s when I realised it might have been an error. I was playing as Arta, at the scene where you’ve been taken hostage by Olwyn? Anyway, there was text about Cerda, then Cedric and then Cedric disappeared on the next page. I tried to recreate the error but I wasn’t able to. Sorry that it’s not much to lead on, I played around with lots of different stats too so I’m not sure which stats triggered it. I doubt a lot of people will run into it but if I was able to, someone else can too.
Also, maybe it’s just me but I found some of Morgan’s reactions didn’t fit. For instance, it worked out the first time I decided to check out the romances. My MC wanted a relationship but Morgan wanted it to be just a fling thing. Then after talking with his half brother he realised maybe it could be more and then we discovered that Arta was with child. However, on a second play through I wanted to be a jerk, I told him no to the one night stand, talked to him at the ride to the hand fastening, which he made out like we had done something and I’d turn it into something romantic. His talk with his half brother he still replied to him saying that we only had a thing one time… which again, never happened. Then later similar actions were available as the first time. If he was bitter as his words (I told him that we weren’t right for each other), than wouldn’t he still hold some of that bitterness?
Also, I thought it was a shame that Arta could only be with Morgan’s child. I understand how it’s similar to the legends, so it’s okay. I wished there was another romance choice than Morgan and the first person to pledge to you as war leader. I also tried so many times not to make war leader but it seems its Arta/Aurthur’s fate to become that.
All in all a great story. Good achievements. I’m still working on 8 of them. I’m trying to figure out those hidden ones. I do feel like a sequel would have at least 5 different starting points. It’ll be interesting to see if there is one. I liked the spin on the sword and the stone part as well as the others. Fantastic story.
Please read the context of the post before you comment on it.
it seem to me you dont get what i mean about the child, let me clarify Mordred - Wikipedia
you should read it, it seems to me many people mistake Morgan for morgause
the child is with Morgan, so nope is not a key for 2 part at all
Okay, then let me clarify.
First off, that’s Malory canon but not universal in the Arthurian mythos - Mists of Avalon (which is an influence on Pendragon Rising), I believe, had Mordred as Morgan’s child. Canonically to Malory, Arthur never had sex with Morgan either.
Second, even if you’re right (which I highly doubt would be the case for this game), the game would still have to find a way around the fact that the player’s choices may prevent Mordred from coming about. Not all players are going to be interested in a hetero encounter (and this is a CoG, not an HG, so a mandatory hetero encounter would probably run afoul of Editorial).
Third, multiple endings is, in fact, a problem if you want to have a sequel. Not a problem in the sense that it’s a bad thing, a problem in the sense that it’s something that you have to solve. Affairs of the Court (which was originally one game) had to cut off any ending that didn’t put you together with the Monarch, leading to a fairly large storm of complaints from de Mendosa fans. Here, you may or may not be the king, you may be an exile or a warleader. Sabres of Infinity had to deal with two possible endings that led into the sequel, and it’s worth noting that the sequel gets one ending. So the designer would have to either cut off all but one possible ending, or deal with the possibility that you might be King, Warleader, or off in Tintagel or Aquitaine - Cataphrak had only two endings to deal with, and they were close enough that he could have the second just merge into the first fairly seamlessly, yet add in interesting consequences. It’s much harder to be King Arthur from Aquitaine.
i see your points, hmm i never liked malory’s cannon xD
i guess we should let @Vladimir_M a say in this,
What? I never said I didnt like the story, where did you come to that conclusion? I just wanted to know if there will be sequel. I warn you any verbal attack and I ll be forced to repay you the same way, kapis?
Not necessarily. When playing as a female the child’d be more likely to end up with Artha than with Morgan. (Or at least, that’s what seems more likely to me.)
this was quoted to ramidel, not you lol
and this
for you to say if you based your game in malorys novels
yes but the parents are the same right?
If you play female and have the child Morgan will have a chat to you about where the child will be raised. You can let him have her, or keep her to raise yourself or select the half and half option. You needn’t be romantically involved because I tried both and was still able to tell him no. Despite his father telling him otherwise. Actually, I tried all options, Morgan will still be supportive of the half and half option. . Not sure what happens if you play as Arthur. Maybe you get the same choices? Or she just doesn’t say anything to you?
If you play is Arthur the results are saying.
I purchased the game on the Chrome App Store, it won’t install. If I click “add to chrome” the button changes to “installing” for a bit before fizzling and doing nothing.
For any player that, like me, had trouble with Lotta’s sword issue, this worked for me:
Hide it, then put it in the Saxon’s room.
Spoilers
@LucyMiddleford - the way I handled King Lot’s sword was (successfully hide it then investigate whomever and when he asks you who stole it, just say that what matters is that he has it - option. The result will be the support of both of the kings attending.
Can I ask what happened when you hid it is the Saxon quarters what was that result.
