Other CYOA/IF games?

Could someone recommend any clog/if games that have m/m romance?

I mean, it’s a pretty long list because it’s easy to find m/m romance in any if game, all the choice of games for example.

I mean other companies, I’ve new to IF and found myself here by accident and have pretty much read all the choice of games/ hosted games that interest me (study in steampunk, Fallen Hero, wayhaven Chronicles, silverworld, werewolves: haven rising, samurai of hyuga and many others) and up to date with all my favourite wips
I’ve looked into tales, Storyscape and delight games but they all seem to have you play a usually pre determined female character . I’m just wondering if there are any if/cyoa games out there like choice of games where you can slightly customise your character and have a choice of same sex romance.

yep, there’s nothing like cog out there, so if you’re looking for good interactive fiction stories with romance… well, I only found it here.
as for choose your own adventure with male options maybe Choices? and The Arcana :slightly_smiling_face:

Oof the Arcana, Julian and Asra both destroy me and I’ve probably spent more then I should. What about visual novels? I’ve played Red Embrace: Hollywood

Coming Out On Top, Dream Daddy, Loren The Amazon Princess, Starfighter, Royal Alchemist… that’s a few I could think about right now. Oh and Lucky Dog1, Sweet Pool, Lamento, Dramatical Murder…

And here may I recommend you a website if you need it: https://itch.io/games/tag-yaoi

It’s more like reading a novel with few choices. Though I’ll really recommend reading it. Eternal is my all time favorite. And nercromancer and deaths song(I think) as well as Deadman walking is okay too, should be worth a look at. If not I guess I wasted your time xd

Thank you people for all the recommendations, I’ll have a look through them all.
One thing I’ve found lacking is gay vampire games, you’d think there would be more, you know besides Wayhaven, choice of the vampire? (not that romance is a big part), Red Embrace or Communion on itch.io. So er, any recs where I can be a gay vampire?

Ebon Light has finally been released and it’s really good. You can customize your female MC, and is a ton of dialogue choices. I haven’t seen this many different dialogue choices since Aloners. It’s also free.

Torn from her home, an unfortunate soul finds herself caught in an old and buried secret. The virulent elves who claim the poison within her have imprisoned her on their stormy island, some eager to see what will become of her, others eager to keep their secrets safe.

**As she is hunted, she finds allies, perhaps lovers, many enemies. Her whole life she had spent hidden from the dangers of the world, and now, unfurled before her, a harbinger of something terrible, she must survive Gha’alia."

Our Life is in development but you will be able to play as guy and date other guys. You start as a child but you grow to an adult in game.

Also Jastblue and MangaGamer have published some adult m/m visual novels

Curious to see how that pans out. It frankly sounds like a death rattle from Chooseco.

No one has suggested Oxenfree (by Night School Studio) so I’m here to! It’s not as CYOA as most people would be interested in but you definitely can change the outcome of relationships & even the end of the game. Not to mention it’s definitely worth doing another play through! It’s on steam, xbox, iOS, windows, linux, switch, etc! It’s been grouped in with games like Life is Strange (Square Enix) and A Night in The Woods (Infinite Fall). Like those two, the main protag is gender locked but I can’t get over how much I love her anyway!

Oxenfree is wonderful, the characters and dialogue system are great and there’s a real creeping dread in its atmosphere.

Life is Strange 2 is genderlocked male, and the story/voice acting is even better than the 1st one! They just released episode 5, so you can binge the whole season now.

I also enjoyed Oxenfree…what is A NIGHT IN THE WOODS about?

I haven’t actually played Night In The Woods but here’s the excerpt from their website:

College dropout Mae Borowski returns home to the crumbling former mining town of Possum Springs seeking to resume her aimless former life and reconnect with the friends she left behind. But things aren’t the same. Home seems different now and her friends have grown and changed. Leaves are falling and the wind is growing colder. Strange things are happening as the light fades.

And there’s something in the woods.

It seems very interesting I just haven’t had the time!

For anyone that played visual novels when there weren’t enough might remember a game called Planet Stronghold. A sequel came out recently. It looks huge.

  • Play as male or female with full skills customization
  • As male, romance Rebecca, Rumi, Lakadema, Milo, Cliff and Shiler
  • As female, romance Damien, Milo, Tom, Avae, Lakadema, Michelle
  • Branching plot featuring some tough and mutually exclusive choices
  • A long and satisfying story of over 350,000 words!
  • 11 different endings based on your choices!

Several years have passed since the colony of Planet Stronghold was saved from the Descorian threat. Now Lisa/Joshua Nelson have been promoted to Captain, but an increase in rank comes with greater responsibilities. Even without the threat of the Descorians, the colony is at risk of collapsing due to limited water supplies, food scarcity, and political instability.

Additionally, there are many alien factions scattered throughout the planet competing with Nelson and her/his team for the precious resources.

Of greater concern is also a series of earthquakes which have scientists worried that the planet is on the verge of a big change, one which could wipe out all life on it.

Like the first title, you’ll need to save your colony of Planet Stronghold from all kinds of threats. Explore the new isometric map, capture resources, craft new items, and fight battles against hostile aliens…and other humans.

I swear to god that I would be more willing to accept that ChooseCo are attempting to protect their brand if they, I dunno, WERE MAKING ANYTHING F***ING NEW. I mean what exactly HAVE they released lately that isn’t a reprint of something Edward Packard or RA Montgomery wrote thirty plus years back to line their wallets? They just come across like selfish children who got screwed over dads will to me, trying to pretend like CYOA didn’t become a general phase for narrative driven interactive fiction over the years and they’re not the big boys anymore. Even Fighting Fantasy has managed new books over recent years, and you don’t see them whining every time someone creates a new gamebook. ChooseCo either needs to start getting out wider new content again including stuff for the original audiences that grew up or else let others take their place.
