Oh yeah, I only did this route with a low expectation MC, I don’t have the will to check it out as an 8yo child of Admiral.
I don’t think you can do it as 8-yo child-of-admiral, unless I missed some way to tank your reputation.
If your result don’t live up to the expectations (which, for 8 year old and admiral kid are steep) then your reputation automatically tanks. Potentially by a lotif you lose badly.
Hmm, yeah, may be problematic then. Some other ways to damage your reputation is to openly admire Wagner, and to either get to Tanaka outing by invitation from Lucas, or to rat them out. But iirc if you rat them out you get some brownie points, so it’s a wash.
Although when you say you lost all fights do you mean all fights, including the automatic behind-the-scenes ones, or just the ones where you have direct control? Flunking the automatic fights badly is the biggest source of reputation loss, up to -20%
I lost all the fights I could and I still didn’t manage to tank my reputation enough to not become a Captain, although I should probably have focused more on leadership on that one. (It’s so much easier as 18-yo, and I didn’t need to sacrifice anything else for that one.)
There’s fights in the background that count, it depends on your adaptability and intelligence
I know. That’s why I had to sacrifice something when I wasn’t playing 18-yr.
I’m a little late to the conversation, but I personally prefer the commander route over the captain, it just feels better? You get to earn the trust of your crew, you get to weed out someone who definitely wasn’t ready to be a captain yet and you get to prove that the academies performance doesn’t mean everything. Anyway that’s just my two cents
Captain route puts you on the path to fleet Admiral and that gives me Grand Admiral Thrawn vibes
In terms of loyalty issues, Thrawn in the books would focus on building trust with his officers who would in turn manage all the military politics going on behind his back and leave him to his militaristic pursuits. For example: In the
Thrawn Ascendancy book series, his first officer Ufsa’mak’ro (Samakro) would shield Thrawn from all the family politics going on behind him and root out any spies or disloyal crew members on the ship Springhawk.
Hope something similar to this is implemented in the game as well. To balance it out officers loyalty would depend on the players actions and choices so it could restrict most choices that players could make. Most officers and commanders followed Thrawn simply because of his determination and loyalty to the Ascendency:
“He cares about non-Chiss lives.”
“Yes, he does,” Samakro agreed. “You threaten his people, and see how fast that changes.”
—Timothy Zahn, Lesser Evil
“Did Thrawn even recognize the depth of loyalty he inspired in those who worked with him? Knowing Thrawn, probably not.”
—Timothy Zahn, Lesser Evil
I have an idea about this: get the player assigned as captain of a garbage scow, with a permanent directive to tractor & dispose of rubbish from planetary orbits.
(I’ve been hit with some nostalgia for Space Quest V)
Is there a way to be the best in the class
Increase your intelligence and adaptation over 65 and win both your first and last battle, and you will be at the top of your class. Use boarding acting in the last battle and don’t fall for the trap.
Thanks alot I’ll try to make both 65
Can’t find a way for both to be 65
Ok try to keep both stat as high as possible and sacrifice leadership and be a complete ass to everyone it increases your stat. It also help if your MC is older and mix and match what you like, example mars origin increase adaptability. I am sure you figure it out just a little try to make it little easy try to be 18 at the start.
Thank you so much the age was the last touch
Is there a reason our relationship with Lucas doesn’t increase when we succeed in sanctioning shore leave?
I was under the assumption our relation would increase, since it’s stated most of the cadets are thankful, and shower us with praise.
No particularly reason. It’s not a bad suggestion, and I’ll consider a relationship boost when I push Chapter 4.
My conspiracy theory is that raptors were made by a government/individual/agency so that Earth would unite to fight the Mors Reptilis, and after the war is won would remain united.
“I occasionally think how quickly our differences worldwide would vanish if we were facing an alien threat from outside this world.”
― Ronald Reagan
So it was him, that bastard, Reagan, cruel to some, clever to others, he’s the one who made the Mors Reptilis!
He made a genetic whatchamacall it, which would take 2 Centuries to create the Mors Reptilis, and he succeded
(I’m really hoping that someone recognizes the reference I did with Clever and Cruel.
Also, the fact that Chaney responded so fast is very very suspicious)
