I guess for such a choice, the implications should have been clearly spelt as the current system of either calling him by his name or “brother” is quite ambiguous
I had finally finished my first playthrough, which is such a satisfactory magical journey of “sort of” a lifetime.
The main attraction for sword of Rhivenia ( for me) is not only about the variety and distinguish of choices which leads to a different personal experience for players, but ultimately the rich story telling of a very focus, well written and organized “novel” .
I think the challenge for choice game is about how to give readers a multiple choices within the story and still able to present it as an enjoyable " Reading - book " that won’t make you feel like it’s just another game book where you can constantly “reload”. Choices we make link perfectly to the next scene where we will get hook about " what will happen next?" , and lure us into wanting to continue reading it till the end (for the better or worse), instead of thinking " I don’t like this, so I just replay" . The story makes me care for the main character ( in this case, myself ) and other characters in the story , feel worry or anxious on what will happen next , similar to those famous teen fictions or novels, in this case I can constantly feel accountability for my previous choice but will keep following the progress till the end without wanting to replay immediately.
Another intriguing part of this game is it let readers know how the third party feels and act , what will be their perspective due to our previous choices , this ultimately gave me a sense that my choice matter and have consequences in the flow of story.
Well, somehow I end up with the “kindness” stat of 108🤣, and was amaze with the rich detail experience of what a “naive” king facing in a treachery fantasy medieval world , especially how all the good hearted action , ( ok I admit I lied to Daenir about balancing my heart and my mind ) , invite rebellion of the merchant in the end , I understand all businessmen are evil and not to be trusted even in real world, I think that will be what Bernie Sanders facing if he is the president of America .
Many might think the over loving/protective plot on Princess Astryn is illogical / nonsensical, as no one in their sane mind would dare to continue sacrifice for a non return love, but in truth there will be people who would do the precise thing and still not feeling bitter about it, I say it because that is exactly what happened similarly in my real life, I perfectly understand it was a doomed one dimensional love/caring with no return , shockingly what the author wrote about Astryn repeatly warning MC not to held any hope on her was quite similar to what the person I care warn me about, but whenever she was in needs of help, I couldn’t resist to reach out for her. At least in this story, this tragic route was not that bad…
One would get even more emotional attach towards the climax , I especially like the introduction of Leia , who surprisingly play an important role towards the end, I initially thought she was one of minor character who exist just for “flavouring” purpose but surprise surprise, Leia was one character I could take into my care and welcome as a family member, the scene where I allow her to sit on my throne while introducing Astryn as friend was a classical moment I cherish, I love it when Leia wish Astryn to stay while the enemy princess didn’t know how to respond, I am actually thinking Leia to be the adopted daughter of me and Astryn one day . Oh the best part was, Matteo was readily adopt Leia ( I suppose) if MC refused to accept her into family, by following this route I got the vibe of Matteo as Obi Wan Kenobi adopting princess Leia
I would think the forgiving route to Matteo is another interesting part in the future, I could never harm Metteo because he is such a loyal friend and warrior to me, I need his allegiance more than ever especially I made half of Rhivenians hate me, well I suppose the children and thieves will secretly supporting me . But Matteo clearly shows his appreciation when he is one the few who starts shouting my support in the end
I would also think the romance route with Queen Lena has much potential, I only felt amuse when she refer me as The pathetic king , and the best part was I chose to remain calm in the face of all insult , her offer of political marriage after her initial onslaught perhaps was the classical hidden admiration from an adversary, I couldn’t resist noticing her relationship stat with MC rises after this, I was especially relieved after knowing the naive action of releasing Xavier bore fruit in the end
Last but not least, this is truly another memorable and remarkable product from Hosted Game that will hold dear in my heart.
Well, a guide would be nice bc I have a lot of trouble understanding what choices influence what stats, like my fearful/bravery never moved at all during my 1st play, in my 2nd play I admitted in front of everyone that I freed Xavier and defended the thieves and so on, a lot of my choices being similar to my 1st play, I ended with 42% reputation even though I had 33% the first time. Same thing with the leadership stat.
Everything is confusing
For Leadership , I end up with 74 for the 2 playthrough I end, i think it is more on chosing choice that indicate willing to take the throne, agree on Charles past deeds as leadership choice , and make choice that hold people at heart.
My reputation is low, Asinean is highest with 41, I think freeing Xavier and marrying Lena.
I guess defending the children who stole goods , defending Astryn and failing to hunt lower my Rhivenians reputation.
Kind and Good are my highest
Btw, forgot to mention I now think King Charles is actually a good, capable king after reading the letters, prince Francis wife may be manipulating wife who try to take the throne
Well, you are the youngest child. Its only natural that you should show respect to your elder siblings. Calling them by name means you are being rude. Aetheris calls ricard by name because she doesn’t respect him. Freya calls ricard big brother. Aetheris calling you by name is natural.
@Eric_knight king charles is good as a leader, as a king. But unfortunately, he is not a good father, not good husband, not good brother. I know some of the things are out of his control but no one is so busy that they can’t even spare a moment for their children for years
I can understand and agree on he was not really a good husband and father , although he shown some sort of remorse towards my MC in his last days.
However, i do think King Charles was a good brother at heart to Prince Francis, due to the letter i could read once became King He admires Francis and thinks he is a good person , however Francis’ innocent had been tainted and manipulated by his wife, one day Francis might ends up starting a rebellion as well , If that happen , the good name of Francis all those years will be tarnish as another traitor, Charles executed him in order to preserve his good and innocent nature , and willingly bears the blame as a cruel king. Hence i would think Charles love his siblings at heart and whether he made the right judgement is debatable.
after i had become the new king, i realise a kind hearted king will be view as naive or foolish, hence it is possible that Charles purposely maintain a cruel nature in front of the people in order to evoke fear on unruly citizens .
I had no regret of continuing to be a merciful and kind hearted king, i would think Rhivenians’ barbaric nature was due to lack of education ( as witness via conversation with Jareen ), i hope there will be choice in sequel where we could build libraries ( as i promised Jareen) to raise the education level of Rhivenians so that they are less aggressive and hostile in their nature.
the scene where the mobs kick and hurt Astryn on the floor was unacceptable , that was an act of true barbaric nature and i had to restrain from punching the mobs. Then when i made my speech of pursuing Peace with Erwan in order to save lives, those people seem to rejecting the idea of peace, didn’t they realise war bring death to their doorstep as well ?
Of Erwan though i was sadden to learn that he was not as honourable as i once thought by his poison scheme , i would had respect him if Astryn’s talk about never use poison was true
OHHHH myyy Gaawwdd ITS HERE ITS HERE!!! ![]()

You can’t be king in the first book.
I felt the same way, i wonder if it will be fixed
What we don’t get chosen and don’t let rulers be chosen by a sword again after dealing with the king or queen. I still think it’s rigged by the one who made it and the one who looks after it. So I’m gonna remove it if it’s possible in the future
I did warn you being kind and nice will be view as weakness, the mobs now has new reasons to outright rebel against you and besides making peace to pagonia the same kingdom who outright poison rhivenia using Astryn of course the people will be out for blood for that incident making peace with them you might as well offer the entire royal family on a chopping block for Erwan
What about those who doesn’t have patroen accounts
I think i might need to change my view of pursuing peace in future playthrough, since there aren’t Save option at the moment, so i can still play around before making the save version (assuming there will be a save option in future ), but i am really intrigued with that option of saving Astryn by saying " She is under my protection now " , that is the coolest and boldest announcement , i must admit… and i just can’t resist to pick this option , kudos to the author for even think of such line . However , i will decide in picking the choice of killing all enemies from now on. It serve two purpose , destroying Rhivenian enemies and at the same time let Rhivenians understand what i am capable of as well .
I think forgiving Matteo is an ongoing risk as well, when my siblings know the truth , i just hope there will be route where this secret is kept forever
i chose to agree on political marriage with Lena, it will be interesting to see what will be Lena’s role after realising i am secretly in love with Astryn , but for now her army is essential of defeating Erwan
This game is already published , you can buy and read the full game now
MC could be the King/Queen in the first book
Well, i don’t hate him for his past action ( out of love ), and his current action indicate he is a good person who could really redeem himself, he review he got some sort of illness, my guess is he took the same poison and will be died in 6 years as well, more ever i think his final wish of bringing Leia to the tournament is admirable … so , let see what happen in future books, this saga is very promising with lots of potential, i am wondering whether we can allied with the pirates as well… another damnation for my reign … Lol
As for Matteo my MC want to execute him for commiting a regicide when rhivenia’s about to going to war with pagonia which in his view is a reckless and impulsive mistake that could gravely cost rhivenia, on the other hand he still need him alive for the upcoming war beside he could execute him later right now win the war first and then execute him.
How do you become king? I tried so hard but nothing worked. I hope you are not capping.
U can but u need your leadership to be ridiculously high. I can’t remember the exact percentage u need to pass. Besides if u disagree with the sword I’m sure we’ll get a chance to claim it from the chosen one in another book.
It’s possible probably but I doubt it’ll happen as king/queen since pirates are outlaws that steal or in some cases steal your young sisters heart. We’ll see in another book
The leadership need to be at least 66, if not mistaken… mine reach 74
whenever you have a choice of asking whether want to become King, you always choose you are excited, and want to become king… then chose you will do the right choice for the people, and agree on King Charles past action .
when you visit Lord Damnir, chose " this is not how you address a prince " will raise leadership as well… then when meeting with Astryn , chose you think KIng Charles was doing the right thing as leader.
When meeting Jareen, be careful, helping or caring him during the fight may be consider reckless and reduce your leadership
that pirate who steal Freya’s heart actually love and care for her, it is written that he purposely killed another pirate just so he won’t inform their caption to rob Rhivenian’s ship that was on the way to buy cure
but i agree, it is a treacherous part to enlist help from pirates openly, what i am thinking is, if my own people plot to rebel and kill me, i might as well enlist pirates to slay them quietly too… Lol
this story has lots of potential in future sequel, the ideal scenario is for Queen Lena to truly love MC and willing to fully protect MC from harm ![]()
Although we could do the same thing that Queen Elizabeth the First of England did when hiring pirates to harm the Spanish.
I also reiterate that a good solution to the issue of Freya’s marriage to the pirate would be that if she wants to marry him and we give her permission, she would have to give up her royal titles and the royal family name. So that she can free herself from the shackles of the crown and at the same time people see that we’re not in cahoots with a dirty pirate in the palace like Rasputin and the Romanovs having this secret marriage and defection like Prince Alexander’s haemophilia Romanov
Excellent idea, Great Britain did enlist the aid of pirates, or they call it privateers as private individuals commission by the Crown,![]()
Of Freya’s lover, I think he was stripped off from the company of pirates he serves , technically he won’t be a pirate in the sequel.
Queen Alvena was trying to convince Atheris to turn against me, so I think I must prepare as much allies as possible, Queen Lena is the perfect person to counter Atheris if Lena loyal to me and stay in the castle
