A thing I like to do is use ancient languages and mess with them a bit! Like, I have a kingdom that was built on the ruins of another, after they wiped the people out, and there’s a superstition that the ground beneath the palace is still blood-stained. I based a lot of ideas about the people and their culture on Ancient Greece, and Greek for bloody is aimatirós, so I named the kingdom Aimatira.
