Mobile or PC? Pros and cons

I use my phone for CoGs, I can take it while on the go and mostly people have to be up in my face to see what I’m reading. Its nice.

I don’t have distaste for reading on my Mac screen at all (which in my case is a relatively cheap 26" LCDTV with a dot-pitch that is honestly not high enough for close reading of small fonts, but that’s not why…). The setup (not the screen) just isn’t the most comfortable place for long term reading when it can be done somewhere else. It’s the same reason I don’t read in a hard straight-backed wooden chair at the kitchen table - I want to go somewhere comfy since I don’t need the mouse or the keyboard. Also, because CoG stories are so good on the small tablet, reading them at the desk is like using up travel supplies when not traveling…if that makes any sense.

Hmm this sounds to me like you need to work on making your Mac environment for comfortable for general use. You shouldn’t be uncomfortable whatever device you’re using for entertainment or work.

I prefer reading on my phone. Usually I switch between CoG and doing something else on my computer and multi-taskin like that would be much more difficult if I had to switch tabs instead of just glancing down, so…
(Either that, or I play while I’m lying in bed.)

It is fine for when I’m actively typing and using the mouse. When I read a CoG story, I find myself just kind of rooted in place reading most of the time. It’s the same thing if I’m reading a book - I can read it on the computer, but I’d rather Kindle it on a device or read a print book in a chair with my feet up, which isn’t appropriate for work/typing.

I prefer using my phone. It’s easier to carry around and I don’t distract myself with other things while reading, unlike I do when using the PC. And I like reading when I’m going to bed.

PC.

I might use my phone for playing demos and releases (particularly when I’m bored with the games I already have on it) but it’s a bit of a chore trying to make posts on it. Also I like having the extra room the PC provides. Less likely for me to accidently choose the wrong choice. :unamused:

Well I personally prefer phablet (smaller than tablets larger phones) as I find them of being of perfect size for me. Tablets, are just too big and the one I have needs to be held with two hands and I just feel uncomfortable that way. Phones, are just way small for my taste.

PC, or laptop in a pinch (though for obvious health and safety reasons I never use that thing on my lap, so the naming convention for it is horrible) I hate using my phone for anything, though if bored enough I might every once in a while try to make forum posts with it, with less than satisfactory results, mostly because of that damned auto-complete and idiotic spellcheck on it.

I always play on mobile since that way I can play whenever and where ever I want.

(This an old topic, I’m sorry! It’s between new ones, so I didn’t notice the date…)

lol…don’t have Tablet…Iphone or whatever those stuff are lol

I play cog on my pc trough stream and cog website . On Steam , I have all my games and don’t have to enter ‘are you registred ? register here or login’ everytime . Also…I can change the background and color as well as Text size now with Steam .

So yeah…

chained to my pc lol

PC, of course. Using mobiles, while convenient, just isn’t as comfortable.

Mobile. I like to be able to play these games whenever/wherever I want to.

I don’t play them on the pc myself. The thing about Cog games is that on the mobile, they can be taken anywhere and you can stop at just about any point without needing to worry about saves or progress.

When I do play them, it’s usually on a long car ride or waiting for something because it’s much easier to just take them anywhere. And you don’t really need a huge screen to play a Cog. While playing on your computer is an option, there’s just the same portable that you get with mobile versions. And unlike some more intense games, there’s not going to be a difference in the mobile version of a cog to a pc version.

So…yeah. I just find it better to play them on my phone. Ones I’m invested with, I can pick up on the fly and they are great for killing time. Of course, if I like it, I can still play it at home. But you can do both on a mobile version.

I spend a fair amount of time on buses and trains, or in doctors’ waiting rooms. Playing on mobile is great for that.

I prefer mobile because you can stay in bed or outside and still read while PC is kinda annoying cause you have to go sit near the monitor

I prefer to read WIPs on PC though cause mobile is annoying (1 wrong click and your progress is reset) and it’s easier to view the code on PC (to help with bugs and things like that)

I play COG/HG games on my mobile since I am usually on my phone rather than always on the computer. Plus, it’s much more simple to choose an option than on a computer.

However, when playing WIPs or going on the forum, I like to be on my computer since it’s better for me to type compared to when I am on my phone. Plus, I can take screenshots much more easier and just paste it so much faster.
