Love♡Verse (submitted!)

Oh the cliffhanger, I’m suffering

I loved the update. Now we get to know the ROs better… And I still think that Noel is best boy :sparkling_heart:
But I will make a playthrough for Julian later. I guess those two are the ROs that have my atention.
As for the ending… I think the customizable RO is shady and is the person that kidnaps the MC

I hope that’s the case, as I cannot replicate this issue. It’s working as intended when I try to test it.

Code-wise, there are only two ways for the player to set the variable “visitedflea” to true, either by visiting the market earlier in the day or with Noel/le. If it was a *goto/*label mishap of some sort (like what happened earlier with the stranger), then the player would’ve been sent to the flea market, thus still witnessing that scene.

I did fix the name mishap though

Thank you! I’m glad to see Noel/le getting some love!

@Rustem_Khafizov Alright, that seems to have done it!

Thanks, @Big_fan1231

EDIT: Actually, it didn’t, now gives me this:

Gonna try with a fully new playthrough.

That’s because I changed the requirements for these dialogue options so that even if the player has been to the market, they can still use them. I figured, they seem unrelated anyway.

Sorry about that; I think it might have something to do with me updating the chapter several times today to fix the bugs and typos

Alright, fully new playthrough fixed it: could go to the market and visiting Rose is still an option after you’ve gone through all the dates.

Great update! I found no bugs in two runs of it (from the beginning… I lost my old saves). And I’m totally thinking Beau is the one responsible for the “cliffhanger” ending. Though I’m kinda loving him, anyway. It figures the ones I’d find most interesting (Beau, Tristan, and Leon) are the ones who aren’t really into the whole urge thing. Why I can’t I like things that are easy???

Can’t wait to see the next update!

You have no idea how happy I am to hear that! :relaxed:

Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it!

Is this ends when Noel tries to say something to MC? Because I’ve saved at the end of the last update, and it ends at the exact place it was before.

@Gapaot That’s because I’ve changed the names of the chapters’ files, so the old saves don’t work. I’m really sorry

Oh shit, time to replay from the start?
At least chapter 3 is as long as chapter 2 right?

Sorry…

It’s the longest chapter, actually (over 50,000 words), but I suppose it depends on the choices made :sunglasses:

Dragging Julian along on all that dates was so much fun!

@Ene Oh my gosh this is perfect!!! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :joy_cat:

Don’t worry, there will be a harem route (or how I like to call it, Share 'em Route :sunglasses: )

My understanding is that the author is planning to have a poly route with all the ROs, which is already being hinted at in the story… in a very awkward, rushed and kind of uncomfortable way, in my opinion.

In one of my playthroughs, I let J tag along ‘cause I found the constant third wheeling funny, and I was a little taken aback by how casually they proposed the idea—it was sudden and came across as presumptuous. The fact that it’s still so early in the story and they’re bringing up the idea of getting romantically involved with a bunch of complete strangers (with the exception of MC, who is almost a complete stranger) when they’re meeting for the first time added another layer of weirdness to an already weird situation.

Speaking of J, I found their interactions with the other ROs odd and they left me wondering what’s going on in their head lol. Why do they seem so overeager when it comes to certain ROs, but not so much when it comes to others? This dissimilarity in their reactions is obvious during the kissing scenes: they get visibly uncomfortable at the sight of MC planting one on the detective and gAsP!!! in horror when they give T a little peck on the lips (even though they claimed not to mind “sharing” like two minutes ago), but start clapping when MC ~passionately~ swaps spit with N (which I personally think is Too Much™… the clapping, I mean).

T’s reaction to the poly thing also gave me pause ‘cause they straight up say that they’re not okay with “sharing”—it made me think of forced polyamory, polyamory under duress, unethical non-monogamy, whatever you wanna call it. Then I remembered that both T and the detective are in uniquely vulnerable states after being in committed relationships that ended abruptly in traumatic ways, and I said 𝔂𝓲𝓴𝓮𝓼 out loud.

I guess what I’m saying is that the author should pay more attention to the way polyamory is brought up and presented in the story ‘cause right now it’s not the best, but this is just an opinion and they’re free to ignore and dismiss it.

Saludos :v:

That’s the plan, yes

To be fair, that’s just my writing in general

Weeell, chapter 3 is kind of the middle of the story, actually. I have 5 chapters planned overall.

Julia/n is an odd one indeed, though they wear their heart on their sleeve, so there’s no ulterior motive if that’s what you mean

Call it their intuition

Yeah, that one is something I’ll need to fix. Their reaction should me more positive there, for sure!

They just feel happy that the MC responded to the romantic feelings of their friend, though I wonder if perhaps that reaction should only appear if Julia/n knows that Noel/le was the one who caused the Urge?

That’s an interesting point, although Tris/tan is definitely not being forced into a polyamorous relationship here (especially since the poly route is optional), but it is an important perspective to consider, I agree.

True for Tris/tan, but as for the stranger, things are… complicated

True that!

Thanks for the insightful post!

That changes things, doesn’t it? I was under the impression that the story was going to be way longer than that (it could be, the concept has a lot of potential) so my point is invalid lol. Same with what I said about Julia/n being odd, if that’s how the character is supposed to be then :person_shrugging:t2:

I think that’s a good idea. In that case, there’s a clear context behind their reaction and it makes sense.

I know that’s definitely not how you intended it to come across, but that’s where my mind went to when I read that line so I thought I’d mention it. To me, the problem is that Tris/tan says no rather than maybe.
Another thing I forgot to mention is that by that point in the story, the MC hasn’t even stated if they themselves are into polyamory or not and that’s what made Julia/n seem presumptuous—I think that should happen first, and much earlier… maybe after Noel/le suggests giving all the ROs a chance? That would be a good spot to bring it up.

U h h . . .

The first thing that came to my mind after reading that was this image of the detective pushing their spouse off the skyscraper while laughing like a maniac. Please tell me that wasn’t some sort of revelatory vision and that it’s incorrect to assume they’re an absolute psycho.

Kinda sad that it’s going to be such a short story, but we all need our little fun projects, don’t we?
It really pleases me that all ROs are just… nice? (like, ok, the perfect RO is sus, we know it, but at least their behavior makes sense for a person who tries to woo someone). Jerk ROs are my big pet peeve. Maybe T is a bit too blunt for it to be polite, but they aren’t mean.
So yeah, I’m having a lot of fun with this little story, definitely going to do all routs. It’s just nice, simple and cute, makes you all fuzzy and warm inside and perfect for autumn. Thank you,.

Loving chapter 3. Getting to go out with some of the RO’s is great. I don’t know why, I am just not feeling Manon as an RO. Maybe it is just me? Tris/tan may be okay with a long thawing out process. Hopefully there is much more under their controlled exterior. Julia/n is okay, in a needy sort of way. I guess Noel/le and Leon/ie are my go to partners. Looking forward to the remaining chapters. Like others here, I really wosh it wasn’t going to be this short. I could enjoy you writing for hours.
