Hmm. I missed that we start with 4 interest to begin with. Unfortunately I’m just under 10k, so 2.5k twice is +5 rather than +4 for me, unlike the 5k.
Does anyone know the decisions required to be offered the earldom of Castermaine? I can’t figure it out.
Reputation 50 and royalist influence 70
How can I get the royal assent for marriage (in the future) to Katarina? Based on the epilogue code it seems to me that should be possible, but I can’t make heads or tails on how to actually achieve that, and haven’t been able to get it through trial and error either. Do I need low idealism? And if so, does anyone know of any good ways to lower it during the playthrough, as my imported character has fairly high idealism?
Been trying to figure that out myself as well but apparently if you’ve been offered the Earldom of Castermaine, you get the opportunity to marry Kat as well, and the epilogue does reflect on the MC thinking it.
Getting the earldom means that you don’t need permission because you’re of equal stations but if you don’t get that, you need 40% reputation to get permission
Since I made a guide for someone that asked for my advice on the Royalist side of the Battle of Aetoria, I decided that I’d post this here too for others that may look for it in the future.
It is important to note that for this to work on your end as best as possible, you should donate about 1k crowns to charity (if you do have enough crowns and can work with debt if you have it) both times to gain the reputation of the champion of the queen which will be important to gather the militia which will help you in the end. And also to make sure your Dragoons has had drilling everytime it popped up, but 3rd Squadron doesn’t need it. Just the First and Second.
For the best possible ending to the Battle of Aetoria that should get you the offer of Castermaine.
Summary
After Wulfram declares war at the Cortes and Isobel sends you to get your troops moving, you’re gonna want to save as much time as possible. So I’d recommend taking only one option such as giving a speech first then leave, or leave immediately. Once you get to the Grenadier Square, charge the enemy without any bloodshed because they’ll be terrified of charging horses, recruit the citizens with patrols and if you have a good reputation, there’ll be hundreds of volunteers and leave them all with Gato. Then you’ll run into Palliser who asks for backup to make sure the Takaran arms doesn’t fall into Wulframites’ hands, back them up and leave immediately. You’ll reach the Queen and Lefevre who will comment positively on your speed, if not then you may have to drop one more option next time. Then you’ll be left in charge of the combined troops to push Wulfram out and first thing is that you’ll run into Cuissanars (spelling error?) Send your Dragoons to fight them. When you get to the Shipping Exchange, send in Lefevre’s Grenadiers. When you get to the Wulframite militia, send in your own milita but make sure they are organized beforehand with a choice (this is the only one of the two that matters, the other being the cannon imo) and you’ll reunite with Gato who suggests using the cannon, use the cannon to incapacitate one of the ships and this should force a hasty retreat, leaving behind men that was still trying to board them. If you manage to capture them, then you won the Battle of Aetoria.
Ah, that explains it. Thanks!
Don’t remember who but someone was looking for ways to be profitable in aetoria while being in family debt
After a few playthrough I’ve come up with a basic guideline to somewhat achieve this
(Note this is for a barony in aetoria)
- Don’t change rent amount
- Renegotiate your interest payment
- Build a school fist and foremost and give the school books
- Appoint Saunderlesy as your estate manager and be sure to supply him with funds for whatever improvements he wants
- In the Cortes argue for benefits for your home territory (need intellect+charisma = 100)
- Join the shipowners club and be fairly active to get periodic cash bonuses
- Invest money in the club whenever possible
- Do the shorting scheme when the kian treaty comes into play
- If you have high intellect play tassenwerd at the shipowners club whenever possible
The key is to raise content at your barony to above 50
And then raise prosperity and respectability as high as possible.
You should end up with 50 or more points in all barony stats by the time the king dies or close to it
If you need a loan at any point use the special loans that don’t raise interest just be mindful of the influence/rep your sacrificing in the process
I recommend starting lords with at least 4000 crown or more if you go this route there are multiple ways to achieve that
You probably will always take a loss in estate revenue and expenses while staying in Aetoria but this makes it so you won’t lose tenants and will always gain them which will minimize the losses. And the money you make from shipowners club will more then outpace the losses from each turn as well ensure you have money to send home.
Way better to raise the rents and appoint Loch as the estate manager. By the end of the game I had more than 200 tenants, so it was more profitable than leaving the rents the same and getting 250 tenants.
Any Saboteur + Earl + non Romance Countess + Burning Bank Guide ?
wait he likes it to be called a pain in the arse ???
it is an option of conversing with Holt in Estate
If it’s Marcus, it can be taken in more ways than one.
If it’s not a mistake, then it’s because Holt knows what he is doing can be perceived as irritating and he appreciates the MC being upfront about it, since Takarans actually appreciate being blunt and direct most of the times, never mind the fact he is not the atypical Takaran.
Does anyone have a royalist guide for the Battle of Aetoria? Specifically the bit where you have to take the port? I can’t seem to get anything other than narrow defeat, where you take the guns but only catch the tail end of the retreating Wulframite forces.
Refer to @bored92’s post;
Thanks! I didn’t catch this before cuz it said Summary and it immediately threw me off.
Do you know how much discipline is needed to not fail at Grenadier Square and how much reputation needed to recruit the citizens?
Not exactly no, but your second squadron should be at least between 45-51 discipline and first squadron should have at least 39. 3rd Squadron does not need any further drilling at this time
And I think the reputation depends on how much you donated to charity and if you helped out by volunteering in the Old Town. But someone would have to code dive on this part specifically.
