@nigel_harris My PC’s brother did nothing wrong to him, he will not be included in his vengeance.
@Verand The Holy Father lost almost all his power, he might be weaken than a menor noble from Norwall now.

Can I ask if we fund the building of the new capital and get given ownership over parts of the city how much of a money earner that ends up being down the line? I like the idea of my heirs going full Dukes of Westminster if its worth enough.
That doesn’t change the fact that still he’s the holy father, a man said to be the literal messenger of God. In the Middle Ages religious figures were just as much politicians as they were priests.
You also assume that we’ll have no chance to reclaim our lands, something I have a feeling we’ll be able to attempt.
And it doesnt change the fact I will play a character that will not like being a member of the church. The chance of becoming the Holy Father (who right now is a weak man) does not make it better.
I know they were politician, it doesnt change anything. If we will regain the lost lands is something we have to wait to see.
Not saying you shouldn’t play a MC who resents your father and the church, just pointing out that it has some major benefits as well.
That’s definitely in the realm of possibilities down the line. Owning property in a new royal capitol is always a good idea, especially when it’s designed to also end up housing a major port in the future.
The family line will need to mature enough that they aren’t considered an upstart house any longer, which will take a few notable generations, but powerful titles and power increase in the capitol is definitely one of the lines of thought I’ve had in the coming stories.
Does your achievements in the first game affect the second game? Ex. the wife you chose, your lands, and who you sided with to rule the kingdom.
@Urban now that I thought of It, I too will hate my father condemning you to a life alone with no wife and children.
why did your father do that by the way? from what I know in the first game Lord of Aswick you have three choices to send your brother to either become a Knight, Priest, or have a great education somewhere in a foreign land.
Well In the case of being alone with no children, Is there a choice to produce a bastard son/daughter while being a priest, and assign your twin(if you have a good relationship with him) to become the guardian? Like what you did with King Stephen in the first game?
Yes. A lot of that will carry over, most of it in some simplified form so it isn’t necessary to carry over a good 40 variables, but there will be a lot of that stuff carrying over in some way or another.
To your later question, I’m fairly certain bastards will be possible. Depending on the events of the story at those points, you can either pass them off and act like you’re just a lowly priest, or you can acknowledge them and send them off to the family. If you do acknowledge your bastard children, then that will have some kind of an impact on your career and will necessitate some political manoeuvres if you want to keep climbing the ranks of the church.
Thanks for the answer! Since I forgot to do it initially, I think this game on its own is great, but what sets it apart in my opinion and makes it such a unique and brilliant idea is the fact that your ultimately building towards the success of a dynasty with effects that may not be felt for however many hundreds of years, and I look forward to how the minor decisons my character made end up causing the deaths of countless peasants.
@Goshman I don’t know if it has already been asked but, will you update the first game so we can make a save and import to the next game?
far as i remember COG only make save an option when they are sure there is a follow up game?
right not there might be some kind of planning going on for the game, but there is no game yet.
Essentially what @Bob_Rijke said.
Once I start working on the sequel properly, meaning writing it out in more than a rough draft and bullet points of ideas, then I’ll point questions Jason’s way about it.
For those who don’t want to read through the first one in order to go in with a save game, I’ll set up a questionnaire at the beginning to set up your family and land situation. Something that at the same time won’t be too much for new readers.
not too rush you or anything but you got a rough timeline for any of that?
somewhere before the end of 2017? maybe
will be waiting for it anyway.
looking forward too what your doing with this game in the mean time
Depends on whether I try and finish another project after Best of Us or if I hop straight into fleshing out the sequel. I can’t say before I get there and make a decision. After Lords of Aswick was done it took me a good three months to get out of that story and figure out what I wanted to focus on.
Right now I would say that even if I did go for another project after Best of Us, the sequel would be targeted probably for the latter half of 2017 or early 2018.
thats cool no hurry from my side like i said i`ll be waiting for it
While I’m eager for the sequel, I doubt the new protagonist will surpass the awesomeness of Sir Oswin Allard the Noble, Earl of Aswicdale, Baron of Steminster, Protector of Dumas, Baron of Oxbridge, Baron of Darrow, Knight of Norwall and Lord High Constable.
How do you win the war, I always die.
Do you mean the Civil War? Who did you support?
I have supported all of them, and each time I just get banished
I agree with gosh man when he said that lucias story would be interesting maybe you cous do a game about her after your done with the best of us (making good progress by the way good job) and lord of aswick 2 for all the people who wanted to be a girl in the first game I would totally play it.
