Lordirish presents 2nd Annual CScomp

I really want to see these games, by the judges comments they seem to be great!

hehehehehehehe…

Okay, I’ve just finish writing the last of my reviews.

Looking forward to the results.

I do have an updated version of one file I’d like to send in after judging’s done but before the games are posted - no new content, it’s just got one extra line to fix a bug I discovered when I replayed it myself. Hopefully that’s ok :slight_smile:

@aetheria
Once we have judged the games will give the writers a chance to send in any changes they would like to make before we post them.

Awesome, thanks :slight_smile:

Incidentally, I’ve started working on another game inspired by the comp theme - one of the ideas I came up with was too big a project for two weeks, but I liked it enough that I decided it was worth developing further. So who knows, maybe we’ll have you to thank for a new WIP as well!

@aetheria
I am happy that this helped. That is the whole point to the contest, to get those writer juices rolling. :slight_smile:

3 days left, still waiting for some scores. Those that submitted games, if you want to send in any changes I would be happy to accept them.

Even though it looks like I lost a few judges along the way and will not be able to use their score
I will make sure you each receive all comments that were made on your game.

Oww :frowning: am I one of them? Lols :stuck_out_tongue:

@Aera
No :smiley: All your scores are in.

In that case yay O:-)

I have all the scores in, it was very close, great games. I have @Lucid updated game.
@Cottage14
@Porter
@aetheria
@Sandstorm
@Saint_Nicholas

Please let me know if you plan on updating your game before we announce the winners ASAP please. Thank you

I want to give a special thank you to;

@Aera
@Protagonist
@fantom

They took the time to really look into these games, and give feedback. I could not do this each year with out good judges. These five battled real life to strive to get their scores in before the deadline. So please take a bow as you deserve it.

I will be sending out feedback to the writers as soon as we release the winners. While only three are the top dogs, I believe all the games submitted have something to offer and will be a great game once submitted for publication. If I had deeper pockets I would reward all of the submissions. As such I can only offer this small amount. Thanks to @Protagonist we have an additional prize this year. I hope next year we can raise it some more. If you happen to know anybody or group that may want to take part, drop me a note and I will contact them.

The theme went over very well this year so we will be using it again next year. Since none objected this year, next year all games submitted will be made to be shared with the CoG community once the contest is completed. I think the only real hickup this year was the timer, so I will look into other timers over the year to see what works.

As always I welcome any feedback on the contest. I really look forward to sharing the winners and show casing all the hard work,(I was amazed at some of the projects), that went into these wips.

Can’t wait to see the games!

I’ll be sending in my updated version tonight, but if I fall asleep and don’t get it in, feel free to go ahead without me. :wink:

Super excited to play everyone else’s games! And thanks to the judges for your hard work (especially for making it through my game, you have my apologies!)

I don’t plan to update the game right now: release away!

Am working out extensions for the game to work on over the summer, once I have seen the judges’ feedback.

I’ll be sending mine right away! Thank you for the judges for not giving up on my game, I know there’s a lot of errors in it, my deepest apologies!

@Sandstorm
It is a tough thing to write a game in 30 days so no apologues needed. :slight_smile:

I am on the road, spent three weeks out and get two days at home. Once I shutdown for the day will be making the announcement. Sorry for the wait.

Glad to hear everything’s swell. I have no plans to hone my entry right now – too busy writing a separate gamebook.

By the way, @Lordirish, did you say next year’s contest will use the same theme as this year? As in, “a moment in time?” That seems a bit strange to me. Maybe I misread you.

No lol we will use the theme concept. Sorry if I was not clear.
