Legion of Rome - Official Thread

@mattnoles

Thats going to be really cool. I know I asked this on the previous thread , but will you implement a choice to disagree with your father and im assuming your comrades about the republic.

@timmy
You will probably have to progress through this plot regardless if you want to or not just because it is the overarching plot to the entire story and without the rest doesn’t really mean much.

You will be able to choose in the end ultimately to save the emperor or usher in the republic. So I guess the best answer is yes and no.

@mattnoles

Thanks for tell me that. Is Augustus still the emperor by any chance.

No, it would be about 200 years after his death.

@Timmy
@Person
Yes. Ausgusts was in fact ruling during the year 9 AD, when my game takes place. So in that regard it is historically accurate.

@DonkeyKong
I think I fixed the daughter pathway for the rich noble family background story. Can you give it a try and let me know please?

Just played it through and worked fine for mine

@RockyBou
Ok thanks for the test.

@mattnoles
Sorry for the late reply! I’ve been busy with graduation and after parties :stuck_out_tongue:
I’ve played through it and everything seems perfectly fine.

Is it possible to make yourself emperor?

@dno256
Ah that may work. People have been wanton to disagree with your fathers morals and Idea and betray the return of the republic.

So perhaps the player could a. Help usher iin te republic or b. claim te throne for yourself.

Ohhhh sneaky. Personally I prefer the imperium to the republic. Mostly because of the issue between the Patricans and Plebs. Personal opinion

I maintain that there should be three possible roads: republic, emperor, or usurpation.

That said, soldier-emperors are a post-Pax Romana thing. (Not that we need to be completely historically accurate.)

I’m not sure what you mean about Segmentata weighing you down heavily. It’s not that flexible, yeah, but it weighs roughly half of that of hamata…

Also, when he says “Legionary ____” reporting, or something similar, someone correct me if I am wrong but he would go his rank then name reporting. Which in this case would be “Miles”, or ordinary legionary – OR Miles Gregarius, or Legionary in good standing.

@Ramidel
not necessarily, I say this due to the fact that between 68-69 a.d there is a group of emperors called the army emperors. This is eventually stopped by Vespasian who ushers in the Flavian dynasty. Though I do see your point since this game is set during 9 a.d.

Is there a link, and how far have you gotten? Not to rush you.

Caligula.

so hows it going?

notice it refers to me as my female name on this page

Lying in bed, you’re gear sitting quietly in the corner, you think over the day’s events. It had been quite the experience and you’re looking forward to a nice rest. All you’re tent mates, including Marcus and Quintus, lay quietly. Some are writing letters home, while others are reading the latest correspondence and news.

You’re about to blow out the light and call it a night as a barking ordering come from outside.

“ash Decius! Quintus Aurelian! Marcus Dias! You have been summoned to the praetorium!” Calls a messenger standing just outside the tent.

The praetorium? That’s the general’s tent! The three of you throw quick glances between each other and rush to get dressed and grab you’re gear. As you snap you’re armor around your back, you think about the general, also known as the legate.

You try and remember everything you were told when you were first stationed here.

His name is Sextus Julius Frontinus, and is famous for his fiery temper, ruthless hatred for barbarians, reckless behavior, and any of his men would die for him. Many of the legionaries are veterans with Sextus and have unwavering loyalty to him and his legion. You’ve heard rumors however, but people say that the politicians in Rome are nervous about the loyalty he commands and they see him as a potential threat.
