I guess it’s a small thing, but a woman in an infantry uniform smiles flirtatiously as she walks past me and greets me, and I get called a slut for flirting back even though that one random person was the very first instance of me flirting with another ever up to that point lol.

Hello, my loyal readers! Hope you are doing well? I am so grateful for your support and the grand reception you have given this project.
I have some news. It’s not bad news. Not for me. But some of you may be disappointed. But I hope you try to be happy for me. I am going to stop writing ‘Knights of Evallon’. I can’t write the main character anymore. Twilight is a lying, deceptive bastard who uses people and plays with their emotions just to finish a mission. I wrote him like that because it was the popular thing to do and would grant me a larger audience. But I can’t do it any longer.
You may have noticed that there’s not been an update since November. I have been trying to force myself to write but I just can’t. And then something happened yesterday which made this decision very very easy.
I believe I owe you all, who have been my loyal readers, an explanation.
I like someone. Really really like her. I wanna be the best version of myself for her. But how can I be my best self if I continue to be a sellout who writes edgy stuff for clicks and financial gain?
In real life, I’ll hate someone like Twilight. And after she told me something yesterday, I dislike him even more.
I want to make it absolutely clear that she hasn’t asked me to stop writing. She has no hand in my decision. In fact, I don’t think she cares about trivial stuff such as this. But everytime I write about Twilight’s misadventures, I feel like I am being dishonest with her and myself.
Some of you may think I’m being overly dramatic and this doesn’t make sense. But hey, love itself doesn’t make sense.
To be extremely honest, I am not 100% sure if we have a future together. But it’s about my life, her life, about our lives. And she’s much more important than a few dollars lost in sales.
Now, some of you may think this is stupid. Few of you might even post about it on Reddit and make fun of me. It’s fine. Have at it. I get it.
Before I sign off, I just wanna say that whatever I have already written will still be up in the demo. Deleting it will be another act of dishonesty.
Thank you for sticking with me so far. I’ll always be grateful for that.

Well that’s a shame. I think the plot has some real promise and honestly I have a very different impression of the main character than you, I think.
Still, it makes sense to not want to write a main character you hate. I do hope you end up doing something with the premise though, it’s one of the most promising ifs I’ve seen. It’d be a shame to discard it all because the mc is someone you don’t like.

@Astralise.Ink well it’s a shame but it’s your decision I liked the story I personally think If you feel this way and have for a long time you should of abandoned it sooner I think if the writer don’t even like the story how can the reader moving forward all I have to say is write something you like first and your readers 2nd the readers are important but you can’t create something with enough passion for readers to enjoy if you don’t even enjoy it yourself

Hate to see you go, but I’m happy to hear you are trying to better your self. And hay maybe we’ll see a more honest writing project from you in the future. Your such a talented artist I would probably enjoy anything you wrote.

@comradelenin I am glad your interpretation of Twilight is more generous than mine. But I just don’t want to write him anymore. That said, you have been one of the earliest readers, and I appreciate it.
@Tears I understand that readers are important. There’s a part of me that feels the responsibility to provide closure. I get it. But to be very honest, she is more important.

Not wanting to write a story you don’t like writing is a totally good reason to not write it. If you want to provide closure, would giving a quick summary of the intended plot work? Or would that too feel dishonest?

That is completely understandable And if you don’t want to write a story that you don’t feel connection to you Feel discomfort from it you shouldn’t write it

Speaking from personal experience, writing a character leaves an impact on yourself as well. Consciously or otherwise, the characters you write are often an expression of yourself.
I won’t pretend I’m not somewhat disappointed, having followed this for so long but I do believe that it’s important that you enjoy what you write. Prioritize yourself over anything.
I wish the best for you and this person you’ve met. May you both have wonderful lives together or otherwise.

Fair, and it makes sense to focus on the other game for now. I’m just wondering if it’d be feasible to simply redo their personality instead of abandoning the project altogether.

Well i can’t say I’m not sad about learning about this but still wish you the best even though i sincerely wish to see the completions of this projects.
