How has the writing been going on kitsune and lux city of lies?

I’ve made it my new year resolution to be more regular with updates. I mostly put them on Twitter and Facebook but should really put them on here too! Thanks for the reminder @Carmine_Falcone!
Kitsune has 8 chapters of the first draft finished and in a really good place (if I do say so myself 
) Chapter 9 is a headache but it’s also the midpoint so once it’s done, it’s all go! So I’d say it’s about 40% done at the moment? Hopefully?
Lux is harder to say. One chapter is finished, but the other chapters are all made up of so many interchangeable parts that they won’t be done until they’re all done, if that makes sense. I’ve almost reached a point where there’s a path from beginning to end and most of the main mystery is finished. The real challenge is going to be all the side quests (some of which are almost done and some of which I’ve barely started). Gonna be a long road with this one but I genuinely believe, by the end, Lux will be epic and super fun to explore, and no two readers will ever have the same experience.

March Update:
Loads of work on this one this month. I’m now just under halfway through writing chapter 10 of a planned 17 so it’s going great. From hear-on it’s all the juicy scenes and ideas I’ve been dying to put to paper since I first had the idea for this story.
I’m also doing much more editing as I go than usual. The Evertree Saga is very complex at this point so I wait until I’m at the end and then go back to edit everything at once. Kitsune is more linear (although still has lots of choice!) so its easier to edit as I go, which means chapters 1-9 really are almost completely done.
I’m really enjoying writing this one so I hope everyone will like it

April Update:
No idea how I’m still on Chapter 10 but I think this will end up being the biggest chapter in the book so hoping to speed forward once it’s done. This month was crazy busy at work so not as much writing time as I’d have liked, but I’ll be taking a break to write in May so hopefully more to report next time…hopefully.

May Update:
Chapter 10 is mostly done (except for one romance storyline which I’ll come back to) and Chapter 11 is done, but it’s a mess and needs a lot of editing 
The demo chapter is still only 2 chapters. I might add a third at some point but not yet. Still lots to do but once I fix chapter 11 this story will be over halfway done!

June Update:
I haven’t done any Kitsune this month because I’ve had a complete productivity overload in Lux, City of Lies!
That said, I’ve opened up the files for Chapter 11 and I’m ready to dive back in and fix the issues before moving on to the rest of the book. This one is in a really good place (apart from Ch11) so I’m looking forward to finishing it off - by the end of this year would be so nice! But I’ve learned not to make those kinds of promises to myself!
