Yes, when I first tried to make a game I didn’t put enough of an effort into it so it died like after 2 weeks.
Now i’m trying my best, because I want this to succeed and i’m devoting as much time as I possibly can without failing any of my college classes. Which is why i’m asking all these questions, i’m putting the needs of my readers first.
Unless there’s some reason to think the breakfast will matter down the line three stages of choices is really too much. I’d advise one choice with no more than ten items.
No what i’m trying to do is kind of like this bacon + eggs + orange juice = Bacon, eggs, Orange juice
they get to pick to Create that choice. instead of just giving them Bacon, eggs, orange juice or cereal, bagel, milk as a pre made choice
You need to put your needs first and the reader’s needs second then your wants third then the reader’s wants fourth. Or if you’re entirely altruistic switch the want order. Additiobslly You Need to consider how your world works if I may.
You have advanced technology but it’s a floating city/ island farming and grazing at such altitudes might be difficult so instead of actual meat dishes synthetic factory grown meat. Is that vegan? Maybe maybe not but something to consider.
Okay think of it this way would you rather go to a buffet and get to choose from predetermined bundles of food that contains some of what you want or would you rather go and pick each individual dish that you want to eat?
In this way the reader gets what They want, and not what I think they may want
A buffet will drive you insane try combo meals.
That’s not the point
Ok my friend Gene who’s currently …on entirely voluntary hiatus from the forums says he thinks if there are romantic options there should be BDSM and eating of the posterior. Should you acquiesce to his wishes because hes a Reader?
I personally get impatient on the third successive “and your X is?” option that isn’t a text input field, so I’d advise pre-made over doing that. Unless it’s arranging your grand war strategy in endgame or the like I would advise avoiding back-to-back choices without at least a paragraph of text.
For religious restrictions, if you’re giving explicit religion creation you absolutely need to research their specific dietary restrictions and provide appropriate options (though don’t necessarily grey out improper ones; people aren’t always strictly observant). Otherwise you can’t cover all religions, but an option with no meat and an option with meat that’s not pork or beef are probably good ideas assuming it’s in the modern world.
I’m sure @MichaelMaxwell can help him with that, He’s very into that kinda thing.
I mean he’s created charaters that Are into that kinda thing
The point being you need to realize that choosing the meal means choosing a meal just give a few present options and maybe a write in. You will have much harder decisions in the future.
Yeah, I’ve decided what i’m going to do you’ll see in the next update.
I think this is a sensible decision, that doesn’t require too much time but a reasonable amount.
Also I’m liking each and everyone of your comments, no one’s reciprocating?
If it’s not relevant to the plot around 4-6 choices will do. The readers won’t care much about this and it will be a lot of work as well. (Also “choice overload” is a side effect where people are actually annoyed if presented with too many choices. Do not exceed 6 options in my opinion)
At Le Telepathè? (If you didn’t get the reference just ignore me)
Well you want them to mean something right ?
Maybe a dose of cyanide and happiness on the side?
I’m gonna try to get the breakfast scene done by tomorrow afternoon, upload should be relatively quick…only takes me 3 seconds. I’ll check back after in my WIP for feed back then,
Let us know when to try it. We’ll be drowning in anticipation until then
Mainly just you, everyone’s dead…Maybe they didn’t have breakfast…
Most important meal of the day.
Alright well i’m off to bed, I’m gonna soldier on tomorrow
Yes!
May i ask for the title of this WIP?
