I posted this on Patreon but here’s some headcanons I wrote about Fitzie, Vyv, and Starling’s hands (and handholding <3) it’s pretty short but I do hope you enjoy! It’s written in 3rd/2nd POV and has the M and F pronoun version for each character

I’ve updated the public demo!

Here is the link.

Chapter One is now playable all the way through the club meeting, right up until four disasters strike the club simultaneously.

If you enjoy it, please consider joining The Noble Gases Club, where you can play a much longer version of the demo (including a “cheats” DLC), read lots of musings on interactive game design, and enjoy a bunch of fiction about these characters.

You seem to have regressed drastically, just four disasters? The hell is this, amateur hour?

I think I found an error, uncle Chum is the 8th Earl, not 6th

Wow, good catch! Thank you! I’ll fix that in the next update.

I feel like nothing about this, from events to characters (and their names) to the puns (I particularly love “this was no accident. It was a plot”) would be out of place in the Jollyverse:

Dear Tea and Scones friends!

Here’s an early July update on progress. Writing proceeds well in Chapter 7e–I’m nearly 100,000 words in this chapter–the Fitzie-centric chapter, in which you have a late-night jaunt about town with Fitzie in your hometown and learn some of what Fitzie likes to do in the dead of night, combined with some of the old haunts from your childhood, all while doing a secret mission for the Cadbury Club. I’m hoping to have this chapter done by the end of summer.

As always, I update the first post in this thread every time I write.

Even more interestingly: I’ve updated the Free Demo!

You can now play all the way through Chapter One–but on a restricted route. There are four main adventure-paths through Chapter One, and the one you can play requires you to a) not be club president, and b) choose to not solve any of the club’s problems and instead sit in the front room.

Naturally this will only give you 25% of the possibilities for this chapter, but I think you’ll find that even this limited selection of adventure will give you a lot to do. Give it a try!

And if you enjoy it, consider popping by The Noble Gases Club and reading some of the material–a great deal of it perfectly free–that I have there about my games, game design, and other similar frivolity. I hope you enjoy!

I just commissioned another art of Fitzie and my mc Alice dancing in the house at night with no fancy table in between, utterly scandalous =))) jokes aside, I do headcanon that Fitzie and my Alice dance merrily a lot in private with no one around to judge them, just them and their chaotic, uncoordinated footwork that result in ultimately joyful laughter :>
The artist’s name is Táo Mun on facebook if anyone is interested!

All is well around here, and it is time for a quick update. I’m back to teaching, but the words keep on coming. Today was a 6,200 word day. I’m making good progress here in Chapter 7e–it’s too soon to project when I’ll be done with this chapter, and I don’t want to jinx myself. But it’s coming along. Of course, soon I’ll have papers to grade. But let’s not think about that right now.

The word count stands at 2,987,000.

I’ve just put up a pretty chunky update to the free demo of Tea and Scones! This update expands Chapter One, and should be of particular interest for those who are fans of Gilberto–this update allows you to go on an adventure with Gilberto to fix the flooding in the basement; the adventure is likely to take you into the clubhouse of the rival club, the Rowdy Roustabouts.

I’ve also just put up an additional tranche of late Chapter Two for the Patreon demo, which involves a lot of Mopsie, who we see behind the wheel of a car for the very first time, with, perhaps, the expected result.

I went into Patreon rather uncertainly back in March. But, well, I dove in, and I’ve written tons of material for it. And I’m really enjoying it. I am incredibly close to having 500 members, which is nuts.

In addition to short fiction, there’s a bunch of additional discussion about plots, characters, and other such things. There’s a lot of free content, stories, and snippets here on my page as well, like this free snippet about the influence of the Monkey Island games on my own writing and game design) or how not to write a long piece of interactive fiction, just for example.

It would be my honor to have you swing by.

2,987,000.? did you, perhaps, make a tiny mistake there? I think you left the decimal point in the wrong place , or maybe dropped a zero, or something. That’s just, wow, just wow

I think this might be the longest IF Book out so far in years I always thought 1m was so many words in the past and it’s still so much writing in my mind.

Although I haven’t checked forums often but I’m always glad to see your updates on the series here.

The longest and increasing is zombie Exodus safe Haven, but that one’s a game where additional parts get added on as written. The longest standalone standalone is either book of hungry names or an unexpectedly green journey, both at around 1.6 million, and the full version of tea and scones is probably going to at least double that

It’s really impressive, a total behemoth of a novel. I can’t even imagine the scale reading it, it’s a formidable achievement. Incredible!

“Pond” vignette, how enticing! I hope someone falls in. Or is pushed…or that there’s a frog.

Alas, it’s a rather different kind of place. Sweetwater Pond is a misty pond surrounded by willow trees with a few fireflies hovering about, and the susurration of leaves in a warm summer breeze. The moonlight filters through the leaves.

Sweetwater Pond can be found on a list, maintained by the Cadbury Club, “Locations in Flutterbury Dangerously Conducive to Physical Intimacy,” which servants are strongly urged not to visit with their employers.

Thought you’d like to know.

(by the way, the free demo of Tea and Scones now has all of Chapter 1 available as of today, and the patreon version has all of 1 and 2. The Patreon demo is about as long as all of Tally Ho. Details in the first post of this thread)

Long time lurker on your thread here! Your writing is sublime and your games are some of the ones that really got me into playing interactive fiction. A possibly embarrassing question: I just played the public demo, couldn’t get enough and subscribed to your Patreon as a Senior Noble Gas to read Chapter 2, but I can’t find access to the exclusive demo anywhere.

Edit: it turns out I am, in fact, stupid. My problem is solved. Sorry for any confusion. But the compliments still stand of course!!

Back when I first discovered Tally Ho, it led me to fall into a rabbit hole of Wodehouse novels, of which I now own a whole collection. So thanks for that.
