Honestly, I think that one of the main problems with Seven, as obsessed with the MC as they are and can’t get them out of their head yada yada yada, is that Seven always thinks about Seven first, still I understand their hurt over the vote. As other have said, the band, Seven and the MC all have their share of responsibility for the fallout.
Oh definitely and G is mad jealous is not about them and the MC instead.

If you consider the instability in their home/family life growing up, that could absolutely trigger that kind of survival-based self-centeredness (it’s not malicious, but it can still be harmful).

It bugged me with the VD special that 7 will apparently be the one who is in control of this “try again” relationship, and will be calling all the shots on how it proceeds with no regard to the MC’s feelings, but once I realized MC is the villain, it makes all the sense in the world. MC doesn’t deserve a second chance, so if 7 is going to try, it’s going to be all on their terms, MC’s feelings be damned. As it should be–MC is basically the “cheater” in the relationship who fucked over 7, so they have to deal with being treated as such.
Where do you get this? Seven seemed to stand by the MC, from what we’ve seen in the flashbacks. They never betrayed the MC. And they flat out said they wouldn’t have even taken part in the vote if MC’s head was the one on the chopping block, and that’s why they were hurt and surprised when the MC just accepted Seven being sidelined with no argument. “Oh well, you lost the vote, buddy, fuck you!” Seven wouldn’t have treated the MC like that before. If MC befriends or romances them again, I suspect MC won’t get that kind of loyalty or devotion ever again. As is appropriate.
How is being demoted to a backup singer when the band already has a backup singer a “compromise”? They fucked Seven over, period, and they did it based on the handful of fans they had (a childish and overly-knee jerk reaction).

I agree with this. It’s always about what Seven wants and what Seven needs. And I think it’s probably always been that way. Their loyalty and devotion to MC was contingent upon them being just as loyal and devote, and behaving the way Seven would’ve behaved for them. That said, I don’t think it’s automatically a bad thing to expect the same level of loyalty you offer to someone. To a point, anyway. With the vote, I think they are 100% correct, though. They sucker punched 7 and expected them to go along with it with no complaints. Fuck those people.
My MCs are female and straight, but they’d probably still get a kick out of MC/Vic fan fiction. Unless it’s bashing them more, in which case it’s just one more thing to add to the pile for people hating on them!

I don’t think that what was shown in the non-canonical(?) VD special will be the entirety of this reconciliation and romance storyline. It will likely play a part, but I don’t think that what’s presented there is all those two will ever be together.
Besides, Seven is the one with a deep-seated fear of losing their identity and desires in another person. There’s a natural (and personally variable) degree of enmeshment in relationships of all kinds, but there is a point where it can be too much, and I think that the story is trying to tell us that Seven struggles with getting too deep into it (in general, possibly, although we only have the one example with the MC). To start off trying to figure out their boundaries (and possibly how those are different from rules/demands of the MC) might be a natural starting point.

What I gathered was that the MC wanted to keep the band together and hoped that everyone would sit down and work it out but that never happened.
In retrospect it ended up not being the right move but Seven’s reaction wasn’t great either…

Was it the wrong move, though? It was insensitive for sure, but the band did do better without Seven. And Seven did better without the band. You sometimes get the sense that Seven and MC were holding each other back; like they were each other’s security blankets, holding them both in a comfortable rut, and they needed the distance to reach their full potential.

I don’t want to start this argument again, but 7’s boundaries seem to be “stay away from me and don’t call me unless I call you” because they want to make sure they never get attached to MC. Which is understandable, but it sucks for the MC.
That’s really the only way I can approach it for it to work, but even then, the MC should get the opportunity to say that. In the flashback, that’s not an option or even a passing thought for MC, so I’m guessing MC really was just that big of a self-centered asshat.
I really wish MCs who voted 7 out were treated differently from those who didn’t–there should be a distinction between the levels of betrayal Seven felt, IMO (because there would be for me, too). Instead, Seven is the same no matter what way MC went with the vote. And I don’t think I’d ever forgive the band or be friends with them in 7’s shoes. Not in a “I hate you, die!!” kind of way, but more of a, “you don’t exist to me” way.
It wasn’t great, but trying to put myself in their shoes, I kind of get it. Seven was too loyal to the MC to immediately tell them to piss off and call them a backstabber for voting against them or call them out for just accepting the vote. So, instead of doing that (which would’ve been better, because all their cards would’ve been on the table), Seven seethed. And likely grew angrier and more hurt with each passing day, until they blew up. I don’t know what was said at the party, but both Seven and MC said horrible things. And my guess is that they both used the truth like a sledgehammer against the other (MC is still worse for not getting Seven’s hurt, though!).
Has anyone ever said this? I’ve said that I don’t believe they’re as good as Seven or G, and have seen others say the same, but it’s canon that they’re a good singer (and songwriter).
Their birth parents did them no favors, in that case…

Based on that, MC may have stones thrown at them when they show their face in chapter 4, lol. Actually, I kind of hope that does happen. I have some great ideas on how to torture the MC, and have it get progressively worse with each chapter that passes.
