Rowan could argue with a brick wall. I hate him. Like my mc literally cannot stand the guy.
Shit, there goes my theory. I had it wedged in my head that Rowan wanted MC to ride with Blakists, not with Sev.
Sadly, our guy / girl / nonbinary is a clear people pleaser and Rowan is his osana najimi.
Like, I get it, it’s awkward and they’ve all been friends for so long that it feels like it should be obvious that they’re sorry and feel guilty for how everything went down (and their reactions to Seven being mentioned prove that, IMO), but goodness, maybe a genuine “sorry” rather than the wide-eyed, melancholy stares MC gets whenever Seven is mentioned would be nice, you know?
Yeah, I found the vote stupid. Like 7 out of your 10 fans prefer the MC’s solo songs? Who gives a shit. Do better. Don’t just make a knee-jerk decision to oust Seven.
I think that @vera may be right, that the band didn’t like who Seven and MC were closer to each other than anyone else, and wanted to break that up. Given how they tiptoe around everything, it almost makes me wonder if that was the point of the vote. I think it’d be cooler if the band is hiding something from the MC, and that thing is what really sent Seven off the deep end with hating the MC. Even for Seven, their hatred of the MC seems too much for just them not immediately quitting the band and leaving with Seven.
So do I, honestly. The discussion at the bar about G’s past and marriage made me more convinced that the marriage just needs to end.
That would be awesome. I kinda hope it’s Iris. I see what you’re saying about Rowan, but Iris is a bulldozer and kind of a bully at times. She also has an attitude about the singer’s “role” in the band.
Plus, if you did play the Savina car ride, did you notice Seven’s reaction to the MC saying the band left them? It was a subtle thing, but I found it interesting.
@parisgracex I feel the same as you about Rowan. And Iris. I like Devyn, but my MC doesn’t trust them anymore, either. Same with Jazzy.
Mine isn’t. I pick all the jokey/idgaf options. Chose UW to share the bus with. And also in chapter 3 told Blake that I think Rowan’s annoying lol Also there’s ALOT more options to say what you want in the rewrite too.
Besides, Seven’s reaction is just absurdly sharp for getting kicked out because of a vote when he knows that, in my case, Ivan tried to go against it. He goes off a deep end, starts doing drugs, spends several years writing break-up songs, starts sleeping around and taunts MC with it - it just feels like that was the last straw for something MC doesn’t know because the group does not tell them. I feel there was a deliberate and active attempt to shoo Sev out.
And I think Sev blames MC for not being there for him when he needed it most. For the fact he just stood around and did nothing, and picked them over him. Because that really seems like a very vicious and drawn-out hazing campaign, with this sharp of a result.
I love that option. And I love that you can constantly choose the distanced options, the desire to go solo options, and basically cut the band out of your personal life altogether. Choosing not to drink because it’s professional, not because that’s what your band decided, was another favorite choice. Fuck the band.
The only band member I have an affinity for is August. They may be new but they have shown more kindness and understanding in the past in game month to mc than the rest of the band have in years.
MC feels a little isolated regardless of the options they choose re: the band, I feel. That’s by design, I think. They were thrown into the deep end without a life raft (shoved into a leader position, the crossroads of, like, three different dramatic situations) and even aside from that, there are a lot of things everyone’s seemed to let go unspoken that are now coming to the surface.
Just a thought… what if the band wanted to break them up because they were worried about the relationship being unhealthy? Like when teachers sometimes need to put two kids who are always together in different classes so that they would interact with other people too.
Toxic bestie group unite! I like the band for one reason and one reason alone - they’re a perfect representation of a typical clique and its tendency to pressure its members into conforming to group standards.
That’s not their fucking business, isn’t it? Sev and MC are grown-ass people, they could have asked and told them how they feel.
I think the vote was a shitty way of going about the decision, but I actually think reconsidering their approach to their music isn’t an inherently unreasonable thing. They were trying to make the band financially viable after all. They were just cowards about it and so was the MC, imo.
I believe it’s a self-preservation hatred: “I must hate them so I won’t get sucked back in” sort of hatred. There’s mad resentment there for sure, but I don’t believe Seven hate hates the MC.
You can mention this to anyone, I imagine (my MC told Blake his band ditched them), and they’ll all probably have an interesting reaction, but I think ditching the MC is more in the realm of the complacency that @djinnism mentioned earlier.
Hahaha, yes yes I agree. I’m looking forward to this coming to a head (as I’m sure it must) down the line.
Exactly!
I’m not saying that you can’t be angry, only that it’s not necessarily jealousy.
This suggests that MC and Sev are not treated like adults, however. Not that you should treat children this way either, but you typically should start with talking, then action. Group did not raise the issue of Sev and MC. They raised the issue of music and breaking into the industry.
You don’t fix this type of issue by breaking up a successful creative duo like they’re toddlers or a pair of especially loud cats. Isn’t MC canonically close to their thirties?
I also think, like… it’s a little telling that August, the newest member in the band, someone MC has known for a month tops, is reaching out and connecting to MC more than the band, all of whom have known MC since they were, what? Fourteen?
But idk, those are still besties. Those moments when you see the long held camaraderie are special #tome. The new scene with Jazzy and the band was really sweet.
Yeahhhh…my mc burnt the seven photos and pissed off jazzy She won’t be invited bk lmao
Why are they like that… I thought Iris was bad!
This really doesn’t help my theory about hidden beef and MC’s band being quite willing to hinder them if it means MC stays with them. Band is the biggest yandere, send tweet.
Same. They’re the only band member, at this point, that I care about. That’s why I wish I could romance them. It’d be nice to have someone around who cares, is appreciative, and isn’t a selfish ass.
Yeah, there has to be a big blowup, at some point in the near future. It’ll fun to tell the band off.
Possibly, but it’s not their place to do that. Like @vera said, they should’ve discussed it like adults, not plotted behind Seven and MC’s backs like a bunch of meddling dicks.
If it’s another statement on fame chasing, then I like it. The other band members want the fame and will fuck over their friends to get it (which would be interesting for the MCs who decide they want to go solo because they’re sick of dealing with a band full of children). And I agree the MC was a coward. I would’ve walked when they did that to Seven and told them exactly what I thought of them.
At times, I could believe that. Not all the time, but at times.
Right, but my point was Seven’s reaction. I expected a smartass comment from them, or them snorting derisively. Instead, they seemed almost sympathetic. And shocked.
You know what? I think Jazzy would probably invite them back anyway
@parisgracex Two of my MCs did the same. And they weren’t sorry at all about it. These bastards ran Seven off then flaunt pictures of him? Yeah, suck it.
