Seven sorta has a stuck up attitude on their little bit of fame over Mc as shown in the early POV. Could be they got rejected or something humiliating that would make Mc “better” which takes a shot at their pride.
This would be interesting, and make a hell of a lot of sense, since Seven wants to rub MC’s nose in the fact that SV is “better” than MC’s band. Anything that might show that Seven got humiliated would be something Seven would hide with everything they have. And it would also explain Blake’s “why is this a big deal?” attitude.
Not to mention, I’d love something to bring Seven down a peg or ten.
Another possibility is that they talked shit about the MC after leaving the band. Like, not in a “they screwed me over” kind of way, but in truly trashing them and trying to ruin them. In Seven’s mind, that’d make them hate the MC even more, because MC “made them” do it.
Honestly, at first when we only had Blake’s initial blow up at the photoshoot I thought maybe Seven had been in some sort of support or recovery groups after the band fallout or something. But after the most recent update I’m more confused than ever because Seven was anxious about the MC knowing about it specifically. I n e e d to know.
I had that thought, too, actually. Like maybe they had to go into rehab or into serious therapy because they were too depressed or reckless.
But if Seven went to therapy, their therapist failed. Hating someone the way Seven hates MC isn’t healthy, nor is being so outwardly vile to anyone, and should not be encouraged, even if it’s an escape mechanism from the pain.
hahahaha there’s no way seven has had help…theyre too bitter and caustic for that to have happened. if they had had? (2 hads always look weird to me lol) then 3 years later they wouldnt be as bothered about mc and what happned. they wouldve had coping techniques and not reacted to mc etc…
i used to think the secret was lucy being sick/dying but would Blake really bring that up as a gotcha moment?? given how close he is with his own mom I don’t think he’d stoop that low, but i have literally no other theories as to what else the secret could be so im counting on you lot to crack the case
The dialogue is too vague to really determine what’s happening. We know Seven was attempting to get away from something at home, which is why they accepted the BOTB audition and tour. There’s a problem at home, but then we wonder, “Why would Seven leave a sick Lucy by herself?” She might be recovering, and if not, she’s not going to die very soon. Lucy might also be in a relationship or married, in which case she’s not alone; her partner or spouse is caring for her. Maybe she has relatives caring for her.
It wouldn’t make sense for Seven to keep a sibling concealed unless the sibling was procreated as a result of Lucy sleeping with a married guy, which I doubt.
It’s possible that their father passed away. Why keep it hidden? It’s personal, and while Seven may dislike the man, his death would be devastating to them. Seven may even believe that if they find out, the MC will use that information against them throughout the competition.
The secret might potentially be linked to the person with whom Seven spoke with on the phone. After their father died, perhaps family members on their father’s side contacted them, such as a half-sibling or a grandparent, and they formed a strong bond. As a result, when conversing to them, Seven feels carefree and like a child. If Seven is as secluded and dependent as the game implies, I don’t believe they’re making friends outside of their band members. This might also be a red herring, and it’s just Lucy is on the phone.
Given the game’s death warning, it makes sense that the secret is someone important to Seven is dying or has died, but we’ll see. The reason for Blake questioning if it’s a big deal could be because the person is in recovery, so currently, it isn’t a big deal but will be in the future, or they’re already dead. Regardless, I can’t wait to see how much information we all got right and wrong, LMAO.
Fr. Watch all these theories be wrong lmao. They are good though, and I don’t see what else the situation could be, unless it’s just something really minor that Seven perceives as bigger than it really is. Then when it gets revealed to our MC they go “…that was it…?” With all this buildup I doubt that’s the case though.
Actually, it seems doubtful that someone dying or something like that would be the secret. I don’t think Seven would realistically care about that kind of information being brought up. It’ll piss them off, sure, but not something they’d want hidden. It’d be public knowledge anyway. Because Seven doesn’t want MC to know for some reason, it could be something related to both of them. Something deeply personal.
Somebody dying isn’t a “gotcha moment,” and Blake supposedly wouldn’t stoop THAT low- it’d ruin their narrative of MC’s band being the bad guys if that incident came out and bring them more hate. They can be a prick, but they can’t be irredeemable.
So since Blake’s whole deal is ruining everyone’s day, it’d be something that would give Seven massive emotional damage™ or make everyone too focused on yelling at each other to perform well on BOTB.
LMAO, it wouldn’t surprise me if it were something very minor because it doesn’t affect anyone aside from Seven.
That’s fair, although considering how Blake acts after their conversation with Seven and not immediately exposing but minimizing the secret when speaking with Seven, it doesn’t seem like even Blake thinks it’s a “gotcha moment.” Blake just wanted to bring up rumors and talk shit at the photoshoot. Personally, I don’t think it has anything to do with the MC. Seven just doesn’t want them to know because they’re on bad terms and they’re paranoid about the MC scheming against them.
Blake knows we used to be in a band with Seven; therefore, wouldn’t they hint towards that information affecting us at the photoshoot when their main point was to antagonize the MC and Seven? After Seven disrespects Blake, they’re specifically targeting Seven.

I’m going to figure this out, LMAO.
Random thought that just came to me (it’s ridiculous, but someone said to come up with wild ass theories, so here you go)…
What if Seven had intended to leave the band, anyway? Not SV… I mean MC’s band.
If Seven had gotten even a hint that the band was going to try to vote him out, he might have figured he and the MC could go find another band. But then the band blindsided them with the vote (the way it was worded really made it feel like they cornered Seven and MC one night and demanded it). Seven probably figured the MC would refuse and walk away with them. Instead…
Possible, but then we have to keep the ask below in mind. Would that make Seven paranoid? Would that haunt Seven?
Is it possible that Seven did something to boost SV’s popularity? If they made favors to further their career, this might make them paranoid. We’re going down the rabbit hole, everyone!
What could Seven have done to boost their popularity that they’d be ashamed of and want to hide, though?
I mean, I really want Seven to have done something horrible to the MC behind their back, or to have done something that will totally bite them in the ass during this competition, but I just don’t see it. Seven is too “good” to do anything that could actually ruin them, and SV’s popularity is just because they’re that good, Seven is so great, and everyone loves them.
I’d want to suggest sexual favors, but we all know Seven wouldn’t do that right now, maybe when they were spiraling. The difficulty is, if they’re intended to be flawless, what would make them paranoid and haunted? They did something, or were involved in a situation, and something horrible happened. Perhaps they stole lyrics once and put them in a hit SV song and that was the song they performed for their audition?
It’s probably not that. I don’t think they would do that to Mc, they have limits, and in that Seven’s preshow journal Patreon thing they say they don’t want their success to be based on Mc and the band. That’s kinda the last thing I’ll say on the “Seven sucks” topic as the conversation really just cycles until nothing new is said.
They could have done something that will come back for them in the future whether that’s in regards to their home stuff or music.
I knew the kid theory was outlandish, but I couldn’t help but think of the possibility. Seven’s a hard character to get into perspective, they’re full of contradictions, and weird things that others might not think are a big deal or vice versa where they do, Seven will think the opposite. To me, Lucy being ill just doesn’t make sense to be such a big secret for Seven, enough to be paranoid. Tbh, it still doesn’t, but it’s probably because of my perception.
Why would others care? Why does Seven care so much? Cause they don’t want Lucy’s situation to be put in the spotlight? But why would her illness draw attention from outsiders, enough to stir gossip around it? Gossip seems juicy, petty, and that just…isn’t it?
Seven probably wouldn’t leave Lucy if she was ill, but everything seems to point towards something like that. Is Seven involved in some shady, corporate business for the show to round some cash for their mom? Did they do something “bad” enough to warrant gossip? Lucy isn’t that involved with SV so how did she convince Seven solely to go on this reality TV show even though they’re the least reality TV show material out of them all, especially without outside help from their bandmates? Just endless questions.
I tend to trust Blake’s take on it more than Seven’s, and Blake seemed to think it was ridiculous to be worried about it. Seven’s judgment about good or bad or important is too skewed by their issues. If Blake thinks it’s ridiculous, it’s probably ridiculous.
Seven wouldn’t steal lyrics. He’s shown as being one of the best lyricists out there, and had a huge hit song. He also has too much faith in his own abilities to ever do something like that. No doubt, he thinks no one can write lyrics as well as him, except maybe Avina.
Was Lucy actually involved in convincing Seven to get on BoTB? I thought SV did it of their own volition, since they have a good following and are pretty damned popular.
Not to my knowledge. To clarify what I meant, I’m talking about if Lucy really is sick, if that’s the secret or at least partially, and basing everything on what we’ve seen from Seven’s clingy character, they wouldn’t willingly leave their mom if she’s that ill. So I’m assuming Lucy would have to do some convincing. Or there would have to be some sort of outside motivation to benefit their situation. Not the fame per se, something immediate like money or whatever else.
I doubt a thing their band members would say could really sway them (don’t say but Avina) because Seven’s mom is definitely more important.
These are all accurate statements. It’s likely that the secret is minor to everyone but Seven, so perhaps it was something embarrassing that happened in the past that would “ruin” their image they’re projecting to outsiders? I’m running out of ideas.
If not this, I’m wondering if Lucy and Seven have a strained relationship. Seven may have wanted to escape home to avoid the drama of their relationship deteriorating. In any case, I believe a few issues will be resolved after we speak with Lucy, hopefully. I’m wondering if she’ll accidently reveal the secret to us.
What if he did promise someone but then involuntary broke the promise or couldn’t keep it as secret? Or he told someone this promise… But someone decided to not kept themselves.
