Chapters 3 and 4 have been uploaded.
I intended this for a weekend release but said weekend, I was rather busy! Hopefully, everything works- I got a little experimental, so do let me know of any bugs and spelling errors (just tag them as spoilers in case no one wants to see anything, please). CHAP. 4 IS INCOMPLETE. There are scenes I haven’t written yet as well as choices, all of them are marked accordingly. If there are things in said chapter that you’d like to see, please let me know!
This update also includes a character from a patron, Hush!
All of this said, please consider Amberwood on hiatus. I’ll update things according to scenes and choices I finish. The reason for the hiatus, simply put, is because I feel I’m going a wee bit too big for my first go. It makes it all feel daunting, and I’m also suffering from a bit of fatigue with this story. So, I will be working on other projects in the meantime. I will be continuing to write some scenes for Patreon, so if anyone has any requests there, please let me know at my tumblr!
Thank you for the patience. This isn’t how I intended to upload but… the wait had felt so long for me that it was upsetting. For now, I’ll be trying out much smaller, singular projects as I envision this as a trilogy, or duology. When returning to Amberwood, I could very well rewrite the entire thing (for the fourth time, oml), or continue from where I left off. I hope what’s here thus far is okay nonetheless!
I will admit, the support I got for this alone is… staggering. And to have gone this far with my first go at an IF is a huge accomplishment for me. This is the farthest I’ve gotten in writing when I consider how branching it is! I’m use to writing for me and talking about self-publishing… HA. I could never.

It isn’t chapter 3 and 4…it is just chapter 3 on repeat. Everytime Chapter 3 ends…it just starts over again

Please try it again. Strangely, this wasn’t an error I encountered in my testing. Not sure if what I did fixed the issue without possibly breaking something else-

I.Loved.It. All of them were very sweet and all endings were very satisfying too. I didn’t feel like any of them got less attention that the other wich is great and it sorta gives a taste of what a long time relationship would look like in the future.
(even tho they still aren’t there yet here. And do I feel teased from what can be bc I feel it now )
And can I just say Nyx, bc man he’s precious (I’m clearlly a sucker for childhood friends to lovers don’t mind me), but Nyx is my favorite definitely.

Grrr- why doesn’t it work;; I’m honestly not sure how to fix that, so if anyone has any ideas, please tell me! Feel free to look at my messy coding because you might see something I’m missing. (edit: it could be because Ryland’s separate scene is listed last in *scene_list, but it was listed after ChapterThree and I suspected it was causing the loop. I tried gosub, despite not understanding it, and then got an error telling me I fell out of a choice. Maybe I should put the scene in the ChapterThree txt file…)

Thank you very much! I’m sorry it isn’t properly finished but, that was the intention; that every RO has more or less equal time and opportunity. So I’m glad you liked this! I worry that I might come off as biased at any point because there are characters I like a little more than others, or I have a “better” idea for this character, but not for another.

I would look at using a *goto scene command … *gosub I do not think would work here.
I tried *goto as well, (did I change it back-?), but because someone had an issue with chapter 3 looping, I thought maybe somehow the scene was causing an issue?
I was getting the ryland loop last night, but its working for me now.
I’m confused by this part because it seems like something is missing or wrong like he wanted to sleep to then he wants to train. 
Nyx springs to his feet and shakes out his hands while cursing under his breath. “I’m going back to bed,” he says to no one in particular.
“Right now?” He’s already ascending the steps by the time I speak. And he doesn’t respond beyond waving a hand in some vague gesture over his shoulder, going briskly down the hall until he’s out of view. He’s usually eager to train. So much for asking him.
