Personally I don’t think the execution makes that much sense. So we have known ties to Sister, who orchestrated the invasion. The woman we killed was known to be a part of her plans, but not why. They have a journal they need to decode. Logically, even if they think we’re guilty, we should be kept around to be interrogated if there’s anything in the journal that we may know about that could offer more information as to our role in this plan and any other plots against the kingdom.
Yeah, I had been thinking about getting it, but reading all this turned me off. Is Leon the only male RO or are there others? I know little about the game and tend avoid tumblr except for a couple of authors, so if someone could fill me in, I’d appreciate it.
Even after reading what @Zyrios had to say, I’d be hard-pressed coming up with a MC who would romance him after he burned her alive. Instead, I’d either have one who wanted to skin him alive and revel in his screams or one who would just avoid him altogether. I don’t enjoy playing doormats or MCs who pine after people who clearly hate them (only explanation for burning someone alive, sorry, no matter what the excuse is).
There are some things that are simply unforgivable in a romance, and deep frying my MC is one of them.
Leon and Ilya are locked (male and female respectively). Falco/Flyss, Yusuha/Yurui, and Eli can either be male or female. You meet the last three in Book 2, though there are flashbacks involving Eli in Book 1.
Yeah, there are indeed three others! Personally, F is actually my favorite RO, though I think they also get a bit of flack for their personality. (Though I personally think they tone down the tsundere-ness A LOT when you look at stuff like their festival scene.)
Yeah, I was annoyed by her at first, but the festival really gave her some great moments. She and Yu are gonna have a poly route too and while F isn’t my type on her own, their dynamic as part of said polycule sounds really interesting.
Thanks for that. @E_RedMark also filled me in a bit about what to expect. So I may wait a bit to get AMR until I see what’s going to happen in the rest of the series. I got burned with another game I bought recently that I just couldn’t manage to get through because the only male RO and party member was the most boring, submissive, blushing thing I have seen in a while. Don’t really feel like blowing more money on something I can’t bring myself to finish for one reason or other. Or getting invested in another series that isn’t finished…
Have you tried the AMR demo? A lot of Book Two is already playable and it introduces the other three potential male ROs.
I love AMR in functionally all its respects, but naturally it might not be for everyone.
No problem. Yeah, it’s a fair reason not to get into AMR right now. I actually prefer standalone stories with a few exceptions; sometimes a series gets into a direction I wasn’t expecting, or does something that I consider to be a dealbreaker.
I’m curious, what was the name of the other game you couldn’t finish? If you don’t mind sharing.
Or the series might be so crazy long that literal years go by before it reaches its conclusion. No matter how much I like a story, it’s a hard sell to get me to stick with it for several years of my life - I’ve got other stuff I’d like to read, you know?
That’s half the reason I’m so glad for 2023, some of the series I’ve been following are finally going to close, releasing their final content
What book was it? I might check it out.
Let’s get the ball rolling again clear throat I nominate ‘Romance Daddy’ as in romancing someone who has a kid!
Now in COG I haven’t seen this done, yet. The day is young and you never know lol but there are games outta there who do this. You romance someone, often you didn’t even know they had a kid and BAM! All of sudden ‘Quest Unlocked: Save tha Kid to get it on with Daddy!’
Then Gad forbide you decide to chat up daddy BEFORE you do the Quest! Cause then you get YELLED AT to go save the KID!
Why can’t you save your own kid? Why do I have to do it? I never signed for this!
Thanks for that info - think I’ll just hold off until AMR Book 2 is released and the less, uh, controversial male ROs have more of a presence. I do occasionally like the controversial ones (Malavai Quinn from SWTOR anyone? Anyone?) but it’s rare.
He is a corpse alas…
You get sorta-kinda the opposite of this in Never Date Werewolves - you’re a single mom of a bunch of werewolf kids, your husband ran off on you like a chump, and now your objective is to:
A. Not suck at raising your kids
B. Maybe hook up with someone else? Perhaps? Potentially?
Isn’t that the game where one of the romance is like ‘I wanna bang you, but I hate your kids’?
Oh lord Leon’s on here? Why am I not surprised lol.
Uh, honestly as a certified Leon-mancer most of the RO’s AMR didn’t really grab me that much romantically wise (with the exception of Eli of course).
Keep in mind that my MC is a altruistic and pragmatic planner and thinks more with his brain than his heart to the detriment of himself. He was more than fine with being roasted because he believed that Leon’s actions were sound (even if deep down he wished that things were different).
Yeah, the Sexy Racist Next Door and the Sexy Werewolf Teacher were the two main romances in that game, and they both suck.
Dang, and I already made the joke about the title. Sometimes I wish the punchline DIDN’T write itself.
How about Atton and the Disciple from Kotor 2? Atton killed Jeeday, and the Disciple has no personality to speak of. Love to add Canderous but that guy was never a romance…too bad lol
Btw, did you know Dorian (From DAI) yell ‘‘Aha! There more where that came from!’’ is actually Atton’s? Oh man, he say that SO many times
