I, the Unbroken One [ITFO2] [Chapter Two Released!] [November 21st, 2025]

YAY!!!

I’m so excited. :grin:

I’m sorry if this has already been picked up but when during the petition bit with the less than loyal dude the paragraph below is repeated.

What if Rade is the lesbian RO?

Bacon said Rade is not the potential 5th RO but he never said anything about Rade not being the lesbian RO

After a brief struggle not to read unfinished version for I’m certain this will be finished and published I eventually succumbed, because of course.

I’m so used to being from obscure country with obscure language the intro got me thinking I accidentally allowed Chrome to translate the page :grinning_face:

Mira can be served justice by gravity? :face_with_crossed_out_eyes: Why did I never get this in any playthrough? On the other hand, maybe it’s for the better, prologue helpfully reminded me what a loathsome, disgusting, rancid waste of life she is. Maybe the Marshal will have the honor to off her themselves after her sudden but inevitable betrayal.

Darin… :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: …please never change, Darin.

Nobles of this land are long overdue for a date with Mademoiselle Guillotine.

Elya is set on dragging both Mira and Viedran along? I hope there’s an ending where Marshal punishes her by telling her to write I TOLD YOU SO all over every wall of the castle, Life of Brian style.

The old monk feels like Marshal’s imaginary friend even more than before.

And last but not least – why having a bushy beard gives +1 to INT? :thinking:

Aha! Thanks, I’m too much of a RPGamer to even think about anything but usual stats. :slight_smile:

INT in this case refers to intimidation, and this was always the case

Don’t think anyone has responded to your post here far as im aware of yet so here is breif responce to the questions posed lol

To the steppe/Mongol if your playing through the first game normally the anwser is no not really even in the best of conditions its not a feasible option all of kantons can is more knight based think sword, Lance as primary weapons. No horse archers though might have some in light cav? I dont recall fully but the main point stands far as first game goes you will get very small returns for the points youcould get and you would still have a infantry / archer core that would be even smaller if you dump everything into cav both times we can recruit troops. On a side note if you did this im not sure its possible to win all the battles would half to play through such to see what can be managed. As to the army tactic bits you got listed in know we can get two of them for sure but I dont recall what’s needed if anything for a 3 lol

A roman style infantry core is by far the easiest to aquire and have out of all of them but you will be lacking in any cav and archer support as a result if you lean heavy enough into your infantry that all you got is the reintinue and levies. It could be a formidable Infantry force just be aware your supporting units will not be as effective and that might cost you in the end.

Now to the guerilla like force you speak of its easier to field high numbers exspecially normal archers but as a result your infantry and cav will suffer from lower numbers and you will half tonplan accordingly and im not sure of its viability expsecially at the river battle as for the final battle with rade your quite likely to get chewed up and spit out if I recall correctly. Victory at least is much harder. So not fighting that last battle would be the way to go if you want to lean into guerilla warfare.

Probally could be said better but I’m tired lol and working off me.ory from when played last which has been a while.

Mira I understand (and even then the argument could be made that she’s not fit to manage a mop bucket and needs a sitter, counter argument being that leaving her with said sitter in Wrido is easier), but the idiocy of bringing Vedran is dependent on his respect level, I think. That and I don’t remember if Cold Elly is as adamant about bringing him as Warm Elly.

@Bacondoneright You can start ITUO with more than 6 heavy cavalry (7.71 in my latest playthrough, rounded to 8). I also think 7 is the max strength for Elya (unless some high Envy but ultimately non usurping Marshals got it to 8) in book 1.

Elya is generally against taking Vedran with you, unless you tell her that Vedran threatened to kill himself. If you hide this from her, she will only agree to take him along if you request it and she is a weak ruler (2 strength or less).

I fear you’ll have to fight that person who wants it to be Mira instead.

We actually just had a poll in our Discord about who the lesbian RO should be and Rada won.

My Mira-simping friend is now seething

Is the Regent path (the one where Elya dies instead of us usurping the throne) not written or can it be reached? If so then how?

It is implemented. You enable it by truthfully answering in character creation section that Rade crushed your forces in the final battle.

To be fair, for the same reason plenty of people have done it and keep doing it even when they know they’re shit at it – for wealth and self-gratification that comes with sense of power and recognition.

So then it really is the Marshal’s decision to bring that particular liability (or maybe not a liability, at high respect). Elya can’t be blamed for that since she sees him as a liability unless she is a weak ruler and you talk her into it. If we inform her about Vedran’s mental state and she agrees to take him, I think it’s less “allowing him free rein” and more “suicide watch” while we travel from Wrido.

Yes. In fact, you need to have at least a “lukewarm” Elya to bring him along even in this scenario. Cold Elya still needs convincing even then:

		"Then what do we do with him? Take him with us?"

		"And give him another chance to stab us in the back?"

		*fake_choice
			#You bring up Vedran's threat.
				"Elya... he said he'd kill himself if we didn't."

				Your sister falls silent. She looks away from you, and out past the wall and past the army, out at the fields of Kanton.

				*if (p_ElyaWarm <= 35)
					She speaks her next words without even looking at you. "Then let him."
//...
				*elseif (p_ElyaWarm <= 45)
					"I don't believe him," she says, and she finally looks back at you.
//...
				*else
					"He said he'd take his life?"

					You nod.

					"Then no matter what, we can't leave him behind." She looks back at you.
					*if (f_mira = 0)
						"We can't take the risk."
					*else
						"It seems to run in our family."

edit: @Bacondoneright there’s actually a small bug in this scene, in one some of the branches:

		*fake_choice
			#You bring up Vedran's threat.
//...
				*if (p_ElyaWarm <= 35)
//...
					*fake_choice
						#You look at your sister with concern in your eyes. "Are you okay?"
//...
							*fake_choice
								#[i]Entitled bitch.
								#[i]Don't turn into me. Please God, don't turn into me.
								#[i]You really are Sobik's daughter.

							You remain behind on the walls, watching your sister, lost in your thoughts.

This branch never sets c1_ElyaConvoOutcome variable and it remains at default 0 which indicates “conversation never happened”.

This one as well:

				*elseif (p_ElyaWarm <= 45)
//...
					*fake_choice
						#"Having an extra Stiedry with us would be helpful, though."
//...
						#"I just don't want to take the chance he's not bluffing."
//...
						#"Agreed. He stays."
//...
						#"As you say, Your Majesty."

None of these choices alter the variable, and there’s no change to it anywhere else in the branch, so it stays at 0.

I tried the game (and read the code) and I love it! It’s a good start to the second book of the series.

Couple suggestions up to you whether you want to add them:

For the bastard ruler route it would be neat to have more dishonored loyalists scenes. Right now the people who helped the coup are more or less nonexistent.

Maybe let a Bastard ruler with leadership talent cow the assassin into submission if they choose the right response? Seems where their talent might lie.

Perhaps raise the tyranny threshold slightly. It’s really easy to get the 2 tyranny stat requirement and start having all the murdery thoughts. That’s not to say a bad thing, but having the occasional thought about liking the power of being a monarch seems to set you off the deep end slightly.

Also in a Marshal of Kanton run with a weak Elya (<3 strength), I wonder if there will be a Puppet Queen route. Wherein Elya wears the crown, but you control Elya (and also step in to fight all her battles for her instead of letting her fly on her own).

Alright I’ve had a night to sleep and think about this so

I don’t see why people keep saying oh it would cause everyone to hate you since we where literally almost killed for having that deal rumored to exist it would cause huge hate either way however if you chose to keep the deal that again a acting queen made it would cause a uproar from your core vassals as it already has let alone what would happen if it actually went into effect

And their warriors who would have Ben fighting as well would be exhausted and wounded heavily thru the fighting of Rade so if you make the announce that deal will not be taken into effect they will not be in their element at all a decently long ways from it

would their still be troops in their country yes but a lot I can’t imagine I could be wrong

Now could I see their being a diplomatic way that appeases everyone and keeps them inside the kingdom possibly depending how the marshal or at that point king is deciding possibly but eh

Also again if it was written in stone (paper)with the marshal agreeing or even if the marshal was seen by non khorid people agreeing to the deal yea would cause distrust 100% but still the deal was made by the acting queen and at that point I don’t think the marshal was in any position of power that could reasonably affect the outcome to the outside world at least (and even if so was it official)

Again a good chance I’m remembering wrong it’s Ben like a year since I’ve read it still

You seriously don’t see why people who were promised independence for helping you would hate it if you went all “acshually i take it back and i’ll be ruling over you instead”?

Try to put yourself in their shoes for a second. Imagine you aren’t the guy who is about to take over, but you’re a person told that you’re going to remain a servant and that the price you’ve paid to achieve your independence doesn’t mean shit because “vassal politics lol, surely you understand and you’re okay with it”.

I feel like it should be 4, which is the threshold for other unique stat based scenes (Vedran’s high respect, Elya showing strength, etc.).

I hope so. If she’s a lady-in-waiting then she’d be given to the Queen (Elya or the Marshal) or Princess Regent, to further her family. But I highly doubt that she’s a lady-in-waiting, as she (like all the other ROs) needs to be met regardless of gender and route. And it would be a forum/reddit firestorm if we meet her because her family is throwing her at Monarch/Regent M!Marshal as a marriage candidate (and she’s not at all interested because she’s gay).

Maybe at 4+ tyranny it’ll get even worse :v

(the game normally uses three thresholds: 0 or less, 1-3 and 4+ so we might yet see things escalating (quickly)
