Ah whoops thought I remember you having one ![]()
My brain is trying to separate its hemispheres just trying to process those words together.
Spoiler warning
Bug crowbar choice is grayed out dispite having one at the tube door.
Otherwise really enjoying it so far
Could you give me a bit more detail? I can try to fix this one asap, but I gotta know which exact point it’s at.
I have so many CoG games to play
but I’mma buy this soon! Congrats with the release!
Ok just finished the game, had a great time! Very solid game, and I have to say: best portrayal of ghouls I’ve seen in VtM media, which is extremely impressive knowing Cata isn’t super familiar with the franchise. Definitely a strong recommend.
You’re telling me they “especially” enjoy Paul’s writing and haven’t complained about politics and “woke” being “pushed on them” before now? Fake fan, lol.
If I wasn’t sold already, I would be now!
Do the various options for your origin have reactivity? I chose Out of Province, and got some interesting dialogue.
You’ll definitely get different dialogue options and descriptions for different origins. You might also notice that each of the hunters maps to one of the origins.
RCMP is typo’d as RMCP on the about games section on the steam page
I will say something that stood out a little: the lack of definition for the player’s identity inevitably leads to them feeling like a cis white [gender]. You don’t really have an option to culturally resonate with the POC cast or express queer solidarity with Fleur, instead you can only really question. It’s not a huge issue with the game (I liked it!) but it did jump out a little given the focus on marginalized communities.
ngl, part of the reason I didn’t go too hard into that was because I wasn’t sure how authentically I could manage it. I have experience with trying to be an ally, solidarity is a different beast, and I’m not sure it’s one I know well enough to run.
Fairly surface level analysis to point out Gramsci was a communist thinker, I can guess what Paul is actually getting at but he picked someone nuanced enough for a fair few interpretations of any meaning there to be technically correct. But I like the most simple explanation and that is Paul is expressing his intellectual fetish for specifically early 20th century Italian thinkers and wanted us to know.
Just like I want you all to know how important it is to me that the fact Star Destroyers in Star Wars have their main weapons battery in a nonsense layout failing to utilize superfiring positions. - BananaSword 2025

Nobody space fights in 3d in Star Wars, which is a bigger problem. All of these people would die from a single great white shark, which attacks from below.
Star Wars is knights and princesses in “space”, so they’re just carracks/cogs ![]()
@Cataphrak I can’t say how authentic it is because lol I’m a white American guy, but I liked the “ethnic background choice” given in The Book of Hungry Names.
Off to Vancouver, the best New York City west of the Mississippi!
I feel the same way about San Francisco.
I always like stuff set in places the author personally knows, so for once I’m actually most excited for the setting.

Shout-out to my alma mater at 5:25.
I was actually an undergrad there when some of those movies were filmed.
NGL I have to say: both the hunter orgs presented suck lmao. I realize that’s the point, but these guys are literally the same. Paternalistic jackasses ensconced in ritual and secret society too far up their asses to fix anything. I think its telling that my reaction overall is ‘calling the feds is smarter than dealing with either of these clowns’. Good depiction of the mess of motivations and methods ‘Hunting’ should encompass.

In a way, the MC is interacting with these more formal Hunters the same way someone who’s really down and out would be dealing with “normal” people with houses and cars and 9-5s. Like, they might have the same broad goals, but their objectives and perspectives and priorities are so different that they almost feel like they’re inhabiting different societies.
