High School Revenge (WIP) (Chapter 4 OUT, +182k words, Nov 30, 2025)

That actually is a bug :>

        *if marcus_knows != 2
"Hell yeah, it is. You don't even trust me to tell me who you are… But you… like me? I… don't know how to feel about that…"

"My past is… complicated. But I know you're the one I need by my side to finish this."
        *if marcus_knows = 2
          "It's… a bit? I mean, I don't know. I guess I never thought I had a chance…"

"You do. You're exactly who I need by my side to end this."

The checks here should be for value of 1 instead of 2. The error stems from game using different value for Angela who was told MC’s full story (angela_knows = 2 in such case) and one for Marcus who knows full story (marcus_knows = 1 in such case) and i’m guessing author forgot that when writing this bit.

Heyaaa, I’m back with two redundancy suggestions for ya.

First is when going to the art club before the homecoming

Original “Haley says she’s going solo to the dance ‘just to dance.’ The leader already has a date.”

The “dance” two times fells a little bit off, maybe you can change it to ball

Suggestion: “Haley says she’s going solo to the ball, ‘just to dance.’ The leader already has a date.”

Second one is at the game, when you’re playing it

Original: “Still, maybe you can still do something to help or destroy the team’s performance in the end here?”

“Still” two times, maybe switch it for a “but”

Suggestion: “But maybe you can still do something to help or destroy the team’s performance in the end here?”

Also, one spelling error (I think that’s the name?) after you ask Cecily to be your date in homecoming

Original: “If anyone even tries to ask to the dance again, I’ll make sure to strip them naked and put their pictures on my Cameragram”

I suppose you forgot a “me”

Suggestion: “If anyone even tries to ask me to the dance again, I’ll make sure to strip them naked and put their pictures on my Cameragram”

Another thing, after you go to Isaac’s “prank” in the homecoming with Cecily as your date, she says this:

“That is enough spectacle. Let’s sit for a second. My feet are killing me.”

And you get the choice to choose another thing to do at the ball, but it’s a little strange since she wants to sit. It would make more sense if you went to the roof to sit, not return to the ball.

Thanks for confirming it. Heh, I don’t really dig into the code, so I could sort of see where Marcus might say “don’t really know you” such as knowing each other a few weeks.

A slightly different thing:

Original: “Yeah, miss Perfect here doesn’t want to drink on school grounds,” Michael says. “So she’s just here to warn us if a teacher shows up. Now, you in or not?”

Suggestion: I think ‘miss’ should be capitalized to Miss Perfect.

There is something I think that could be considered a plot hole. If you get Cecily to Friendly before Homecoming, you can get a special scene with her. In that scene, she will task you to ask her out so that she can say no.

The end result is fine enough. However, if you then later ask her out to Homecoming, and she agrees…that kind of nulls the previous scene.

The thing is, since the first scenario was public, and Cecily makes the second public, people in the school might wonder how the player got Cecily to change her mind, maybe increase the player’s rep…but I don’t see Cecily allowing herself to be seen as being ‘beaten’ as it were.

Second, it feels a little off if at the dance and you take Angela she gushes about how she will get a shirt signed by the Fighting Rooster later. If you are part of the band, I think there should be a little comment or quip by the player about not being asked for theirs or something like that.

It’s possible to be friends with Cecily before the homecoming? How did you do that?

Yes it is. I will give some of the stuff I did that allowed for it. I will put this in a spoiler tag.

Anyways, the following happened when I played as a person who can Detect Lies. The other 2 options might make it a little easier or give a slight bump to dialogue choices. Also I’ve been able to get Cecily to Friendly without choosing all the steps below, but this was the most direct way I recall

Step 1: Either choose Swimming as your main specialty, or pick it as an alternate skill like in character creation. Cecily is on the swimming team so this will give you two dialogues. In character creation, I did the popularity option, but I don’t think this matters to be friends with Cecily, but I’m mentioning for the sake of completeness.

Step 2: The first day, Cecily shares the same homeroom as you. She will come and want to talk to you one-on-one.

Step 3: She will take you to look out a garden. There are four options. Choose either the first “Yes, very…” I say, gauging her angle, or Option 4: “…” I wait her out.

Step 4: There will then be two choices in the next screen. Pick the first one: “I say nothing. Not the time to push her buttons.”

Step 5: Cecily will still be Distrustful at this point but you have built up some good will even though there is no change in the wording.

This is stuff in Week 1.

Step 6: If Swimming is your main specialty, then the first dialogue for it will pop up automatically. If not, be sure to choose it in the weekly schedule.

Step 7: The first swimming dialogue has you being directed to put on your swimsuit. Choose the last option: “I just head to the locker room and change. No need to banter.” This should raise the relationship to Indifferent.

Step 8: Choosing whether to go all out or simple didn’t seem to matter. You then go to Cecily feeding the cat. There are a large number of options, but I usually go with the first one “I didn’t know there was a cat on campus.” I keep it about the cat. Option 3 and Option 4 don’t seem to lower it either (Option 3 is where you ask if you can pet the cat, and Option 4 is saying “Nothing’" You will still be at the Indifferent level.

Step 9. By this point the party will go. Obviously you will need to follow Cecily into the maze. You will get a large number of options to reply when Cecily says “I will not go to homecoming with you.” Basically avoid anything slightly flirtatious. For my preference I usually go Option 5 “Don’t worry, I’d never ask you out. Ever.” I half-insult her.

However, you should be fine as well if you choose Option 1 (keep it polite) or Option 6 (that bad/sympathize). Scaring off her fans is probably also a good choice, especially if you play the Cocky Rebel stereotype.

Step 10: Cecily will then dart further into the maze, so follow after her. I usually choose: Option 2 “Fuck that guy.” I help her vent. However, the choice Option 3 is also good: “That kick was incredible, by the way.” I compliment her aim.

Doing this will raise your relationship value to Intrigued.

Step 11: You then get another screen where Cecily tells you to keep her stuff secret again. I usually pick the Option 1: “Your secret’s safe with me.” I offer my pinky. I think Option 2 (where you salute her) and Option 4 (Give a little bow) would be fine as well.

You will still be at Intrigued here but Friendly isn’t to far off.

Now we are in Week 2. If Swimming is your speciality, picking it once should get the second Swimming dialogue scene. If it is not a main skill, picking it twice will bring up the dialogue this week. Otherwise, it will show up in Week 3.

Step 12: The second swimming dialogue ends with Cecily saying you will not have it easy. I usually pick Option 1 (committment to the sport), Option 4 (I don’t lose) or Option 5 (just shrug). You will still be at the Intrigued level.

Step 13: You then come up with 3 choices of who to support. Obviously Pick Option 3, Cecily. Cecily will then order you to follow her to the cat. Obviously do so.

Step 14: Cecily will mention how you must want to be her minion. Option 1: (Your Minion) or Option 4 (Let her talk) raises the value. Congratulations, you are Friendly.

Choosing Option 2 (Nobody’s minion) really doesn’t change things much, but helps with the rep of your persona.

Step 15: If you are still at Intrigued, then you will need to wait for another scene. The best bet is if the group is drinking on the campus. Choices there that can help raise her stuff up is when they mention you taking a drink there is an otpion about “You’re really doing it at school?”

This also has a question “What’s up?” and reply with “The sky.” Cecily will love it, though the others will shake their head

I was wondering what is the best way to get revenge on isaac. I feel like it’s through Haley but I’m not sure.

He apparently treats Haley better than everyone else, so yeah, taking her away from him is probably the best revenge.

And if I talk about taking revenge on these people in general, I think romancing them will lead to the best revenge( like a heartbreak thing) or the romance path will only lead to romance?

Also found a bug: after cecily forcefully drags us to see her friends at the homecoming, im still getting the option to see them. I can’t upload my save here and i don’t see the purpose of a screenshot but if needed I can provide one.

Ohh, gon try it out sometime, thanks

This would the normal plan of attack, but it really depends on how genuine Haley is. She can be sweet, especially in public, but then can turn sour at the drop of a hat (two scenes specifically come to mind).

Of course, this could also be natural for her. She may have something diagnosed where it can cycle back and forth…and in this regard, her sympathy in the initial talk about people who may be struggling (I forget the response), actually made me like her. And hey, unless she is beyond our “Liedar’“ (liar rader…not a great term, I admit), she would be genuine unlike Vivian.

On the other hand, if she is thick with her brother, maybe even helping him with his pranks…well, she is going down as well.

Though I admit of all the perpetrators, barring further revelations, my PC is actually inclined to forgive Haley (even with those events I mentioned). After all, she didn’t go out of her way to make other people’s lives a mess like so many others. She doesn’t seem to demand anything special unlike the others. And for my ‘main PC’ her being a red-headed artist helps.

And yeah, as you can guess, my PC is going to delight in breaking Dylan and Olivia. The others she knew were nasty, and my PC does blame herself for letting herself get fooled. Her two best friends, no matter what excuse they have, are done for. Heh, I hope there is even a thing later on where we can tell one of the people, “I was naive. I guess I should thank you for correcting that…and my gift is ruining your life even worse.”

There will probably be some escalating things before the final breakage. After all the shit he’s done, if Isaac say got ten years in prison, my PC would think he got off easy.

However, romance will definitely play a large role in many of them. I mean, Michael seems to be genuine for Vivian, so taking her away would be a major blow to him. Or if you take Michael…Vivian won’t be too heartbroken, but she won’t stand for being brought down publicly. And this doesn’t include Connor in the mix

Just as an aside, i do want to say I appreciate say helping Marcus mature, building him up, focusing that sort of thing. Hopefully we can do the same with Angela, get her self-confidence back, maybe develop some claws without losing herself. Although I can easily foresee Isaac targeting her, and my player going scorched earth on him.

You’re welcome. And I thought I mentioned it, but if I didn’t, there are is another one scene where you can beef up points…assuming it comes up before the dance. That is the drinking/detecting lies scene.

My pc mostly wants to destroy the popular kids michael, viv, cecily and isac. I know that connor is a narcisstic manipulative asshole but his life is already shit enough plus hes less of an asshole than before now. Olivia is pretty much innocent from my pov considering she did try to warn the pc and isn’t a bully themselves. Dylan though I’m not taking revenge on, I would like something to happen to him not because of his part in the tragedy but just because of how hes turned out to be. Haley is just an unfortunate casualty in the war against isaac.

Honestly feel the exact same about the cast besides Dylan, definitely still taking revenge on him in the game, but the only complaint I have about the game is how weak Olivia’s part in the prank was. S e’s making sure we go, do we even know if she was in on it?

Olivia was the one who told them to use the player’s favorite drink.

“…It was Olivia’s idea, you know,” Vivian added casually. “She said if you were going to get humiliated, you should at least have your favorite drink.”

Hmm, this is an interesting part of ch1 because I believe that Olivia willingly gave up that info while Dylan was bullied into giving in. This is why I don’t hate Dylan as much. But with this new context you gave, i feel like reevaluating my stance on Olivia.

It is a detail that is easy to overlook. So while Olivia does get a little grace by trying to change your mind on who to go with, she was in on the plan from the beginning. .And if my PC figures out (or is told) that Olivia did have a crush on her…well, even if you don’t reciprocate, you don’t do that to someone you supposedly like.

I’m like you, I am more forgiving for Dylan; he would have been bullied either way. And with Olivia in on it, his protection was gone so he wouldn’t dare go against the plan. That doesn’t mean my character forgives him whatsoever.

I think this behaviour of Olivia stems from her personality. She’s like a manchild. If things don’t go her way, she pouts and does stupid stuff sometimes especially when it’s something close to her emotionally. I’m not saying she isn’t cunning but she does act like a child as she destroyed the mc just because they didn’t go with her.

This is the thing I like the most about this game. Adrian wrote them so insanely well, that they don’t feel like just characters, they feel like theyre real people. Each one of them has a highly complex and developed personality that isn’t 2d like many other high school stories.

I think some of Olivia’s behavior in the prologue suggests she was manipulated into the whole thing against her will – in particular, the way she tries to hint to MC that they shouldn’t believe their crush is into them, but then claims it’s just a joke when she seems to notice something; perhaps she was being monitored if she complies with the plan.

Of course, doesn’t explain why she wouldn’t tell the MC truth straight when she couldn’t be overheard, like while hanging out in one of their homes or whatever, but that’s not unusual for fiction plots. In any case, we’re potentially going to find out the truth in the next chapter.

My pet theory is Olivia was told something along the lines of “help us do this, or we’ll do something even worse to MC”.
