@EarnBoogie My school called that the “Freshman Roll”. If you watch Dazed and Confused, they hold true to that tradition by taking paddles and going after the freshman. The girls on that movie were bossed around by the Seniors and did everything they were told but that was not a tradition at my high school.
I also want to offer my perspective as I thought about it more. I know you are not including football as a playable sport, but I urge you to consider making it a part of the story, as a whole. In high school, it seemed like everyone went to football games. Even homecoming was based around a favorable match up that your schools football team is expected to win. Nothing beats Friday night lights. Seriously though, if you make a high school game based in America without any mention of high school football or a scene at a football game, I think you will have missed an important part of the high school experience.
@MaraJafe I think I understand you… The whole game - which will be full length is free.
This will lead to low ratings because because people will think all the sequels are free.
So I should just charge money from the start.

I hate it when games leave you on a shocking new twist to the story. I hate it even more when they make you pay more for answers.
But this would be a self contained story… As in you can get the happy ending and finish the game. The game will be very long as well.
The problem is if I included all the extra ideas the game would be very expensive. £2.99 - £3.99 expensive.
So to make it more appealing I thought to add extras which were optional. The game would work perfectly without them. And then inside the game there would be an option to play with or without the extras.
It would be a second copy of the game - with bonus content
What sort of extras that I listed do you think should be available to purchase?
Obviously the games sequel… But would you like alternate universes.
For example where the player and the other characters take the place of historical figures… Like Henry VIII and Catherine Howard. If so how much would you be prepared to pay?
Please look at the other ideas for content as well. You can suggest some if you want

Actually the reason it is not a club is because I have labeled it as a team BECAUSE it is so major. You can be in the team and in a club … They are separate.
And yes as a person in the cheer club you can support the game. Or an uninvolved person could turn up anyway.

I dont know being sincere im not love dating sims , im too older from them. I played the highschool app everyone play from EA. so for me Your dlc probably dont be very atractive. I already finished university so highschool 12 kid is mehh.
I want roleplay a girl sly and manipulative spreding lies and rumors broken romances etc… its the only dlc i could bother pay. Just not my game going class being goody and play sports is not my style.

Some would be extra full character romances of the same quality as the others.
While others would be a rewritten version in an alternate universe. Same story different setting
I would offer extras which cannot be described so clearly as an £0.69 in app purchase
This would include pets and part time jobs and more clubs and siblings all in one. Does that sound fair?

And yes i have played surviving high school a lot. But this game would be different. There would be no right or wrong answer.
And there is no need to play a dating sim. There will be a non romance path, well more than one actually
@undead *pouts* you spoilt the surprise. Yes there will be cliques that you can befriend. They will base there opinion of you through your actions. There will be six main cliques between the 8 classes. Each of the 8 romance options will represent a clique, in some cases 2 options per clique.
And finally @MaraJade what you mentioned in your last post means that you will probably not like the game overall. As a simulation game there will be a bit of everything.
But on the positive side there will be over 10 unique endings so replay value will be great. The dlc idea was actually based on the story ‘the super new girl’ and made me think about a different setting for my characters.

I like the forbidden romance with a school rival sounds nice and more story with family is awesome considering the background options That r available. Plus your family environment does affect your school environment to.

How will academic’s work, will parents be strict with grades? Also what about race,(not trying to sound racist) I know that Asian’s are strict so would they expect high grades, and if your failing will you be cut out of extra curricular activities? And with the hair options could you be bald, or decide what hairstyle your hair is, because bald is bold.

@Anon nice idea about the hairstyles… but it took me a few hours and over 2000 words to add eye color in.
Everyone could suggest styles and as a long term goal - not going to be in demo for a few weeks min…
I would include hairstyle options and a hairdresser where you could have it cut into a different style!
Do not know the names of many cuts or styles though so please suggest.
I will then put the 10 most popular hairstyles for girls and boys into the game. So please suggest ! (they will be available for boys and girls both)
Remember that the sooner I have the list the sooner I can code it in to the background.
Also what was the opinion on having different colored eyes… I could remove it if it does not add much…
Anon about race I decided on not having races in the game… for the fact that it will end up portraying cultures in what could be seen as a bad way.
Example kid has argument with parents over grades and mother slaps kid. If this happened in an Asian as you suggested this could be seen as very very racist.
How about parenting types…

etc etc
