Hey, what's that game? -- A thread for identifying ChoiceScript games

Yeah, this is the one. Sadly is down, but thank you anyway.

I’m looking for this IF WIP but can’t recall the title. The MC was sold away by their father into the palace(?) We had three choices of working as either a cook, weaver/fabric worker I think and I can’t remember the third one. I know that in one of the paths, we’re investigating something that gives us options to go through people’s thing and either steal or leave stuff alone. If anyone has any idea or the name, I would really appreciate it!

English is not my first language, so please excuse any mistakes. I’m looking for a game that has been discontinued. I only remember that the protagonist was the long-lost son of the commander and the woman he loved. He was raised by other people; his uncle, his mother’s brother, also appears. I remember there were monsters trying to invade the walls. One of the romantic characters was raised as a child by the protagonist’s father and mother. Everyone thought the protagonist had died as a baby, and it was a shock to find him at the prom because he had his father’s eyes and looked like his mother. At first glance, everyone thought he was the uncle’s long-lost son, but when they saw his eyes, they were sure he was the commander’s.

The game your looking for I’m pretty sure is The Night Hunters: First Blood. Unfortunately the authors files were corrupted or something and they lost all the games files. Understandably they were pretty disheartened by this.

Yes, that’s the one. It’s a shame what happened; the game was so promising and good. Thank you for your reply.

Pretty sure that was Phoenix Rising, which is on indefinite hiatus, and all the demo’s are down.

Yep, that was my Phoenix Rising. It is currently in Indefinite hiatus, because a lot of shit was going on in my life, and kind of still is (and might now include bankruptcy, but that’s a whole other storytime) until I can A) break my writers block and B) figure out what the fuck I fucked up coding-wise.

And C) get some time that isn’t eaten by capitalism’s grinding demand to make money to put food in my mouth and a roof over my head. But that’s true for everyone.

Thank you for letting me know as well and I completely understand! It’s good to be focusing on yourself and your life.

i remember playing this game where you are a god or divine being that is given control over a world to watch/guide by the creator. he also made several others like you who have their own worlds to look after. after what i assume is a really long time the creator summons you and the others and tells everyone that they will compete to take his place and power. what you did on your world affects how much power you have. you can either take his power, team up with another to do your own thing without the creators power or you can give into the corruption and join the dark ones (i cant remember if thats what theyre called) who have bascially been fighting the creator since forever. its a published game that was 50k words or less than 100k

The Aether: Life as a God?

There’s this WIP I remember playing a few years ago, and it’s probably been discontinued.

The plot was basically a reality show on an island where the MC could date several people. There was this one RO who had some kind of illness or disability where she couldn’t stand for long or do much physical effort, I think. She was super sweet and I believe she worked at a museum?

Anyway, she gets murdered on the island. The producers tried to cover it up by saying she just left, but then she appeared to you as a ghost. Does anyone remember this?

Is it Body Count? It used to be on dashingdon but it’s in Twine.

That’s the one! I really thought it had been discontinued, thank you so much!

Was reading something and my brain remembered a really specific and completely unhelpful for searching thing from some game I just can’t come up with at all. It’s really a longshot but maybe someone can come up with it? The only clear thing I’m remembering is some sort of learning how to use magic, and there were a couple characters (ROs, pretty confident) you were working with who had different methods, one being more controlling ā€œforce the magicā€ (more science-y, ā€œit’s just a force of natureā€) and the other more transactional/two way ā€œwork with the magicā€ (more heart, ā€œit is ā€˜living’ and has its own desiresā€), and you picked which sort of method you went for, with flavor text/further choices explaining if you picked one that went against your personality stats.
Like I said super longshot given that’s nothing plot or characters or anything else actually helpful, not even confident it’s not a twine game, but I gotta try because it’s driving me insane now

Without rereading, think God-Cursed may be a possible answer, if anyone wants to maybe confirm that thought
