Hero or Villain: Battle Royale (Released 16th Sept!)

It’s ‘A thief’ not ‘An thief’. Those two options cause loops which results in this.

—————————————————————

That option does not make sense since I am not fighting a human.

This option sets my psyche to 30

Thanks for the bug reports, I’ll be working on all of them today!

Otherwise, today I finished a first draft of my “galactic map” (I had hand-drawn it before, but I needed to actually make a better version… so, this is my first draft… I still need to add some locations to it though…)

That is so nice looking!
What program did you use?

Thanks for reporting those bugs! They should be corrected in the next version of the game… (about the weak spot and training, it was not intentional, you are supposed to be able to go back…). Corrected everything else!

Also I agree that Raas’ answer was incorrect there, not sure what crossed inside my brain when I wrote that.

@Bokeh I made it using powerpoint… basically I got a background of stars and then started drawing on it!

Ok thanks. Also Raas’ answer was for the other option about his opinion of Kobb’ha which I cannot remember the exact words of.

In the ball/party thing there is an option to tell Aggy that you are a vampire even though you should have already done so in the first game. And that option is also a loop if I remember correctly.

What is the title of the second part?

Thanks, corrected those bugs!

@Blaq_xlnt I didn’t understand what you mean? The title of the game? (it’s the same title as this thread…)

Question, what does this action do/decrease?

Also do you still accept playtesters for the full game? Can I join too?

Bugs

Apology in advance if these bugs have been fixed already

Wrong use of pronoun in underlined actions

Still have this option when I have switched my crossbow for KTX-1989

Picture doesn’t load

Got this error when I started a big project the second time after I rent a place the first time

Got this error when I tried to load my save

Just my 2-cents here, Jak, but lazy I would think would be less endurance/fortitude. I forget the corresponding stat in this game. If you are a couch potato you cannot get up and immediately run a marathon.

I haven’t been playing the beta for long, but I think that it would help a lot if (until the save feature is implemented) you could edit stats (or at least relationships) so that they match your character in the first game. Otherwise, I’ve enjoyed both games so far.

Lazy decreases 1% of strength, agility and endurance.

Well so far I’m as excited about this instalment as I was the original game!

Loving the potential with some of the stats!
“Humanity”!? Oh my.
Also loving the increased amount of serious battles!

I did notice when taking the ability to infiltrate dreams, that I wasnt given the opportunity to use it at all! Completely inert option.
I also noticed that when researching “alien biology” (I think… unless it was when researching planets) that the very first option only loops back without giving any info whatsoever.
The last potential bug I spotted was that if/when i chose the option to invent something beneficial to the planet while in possession of a lab and sufficient resources, I’m given an error message indicating there are no options and the entire page is frozen until refreshed or navigated away from (which ends the current playthrough)

As far as requests to the chef go, I noticed that speed combos with marksmanship as well as with fighting very evenly, thus the decision to build a strong and fast fighter vs an agile and fast shooter is very much cosmetic. I think itd be dope if marksmanship was uniquely able to double damage output by ignoring defences and stoicly and constantly firing upon their target as the gap narrows until the enemy is right on top of mc (where enemy will score an automatic hit) or the the enemy was downed by the unrelenting fire.
On the flip side, considering that a big part of real life martial arts is the ability to avoid fatigue and receiving serious blows, the fighting skill could have a unique option to simultaneously bolster defensive movement with no penalty to attack.
Either way the two skills in my opinion both need a little more individuality.

Additionally I’m going to second another commenter in saying that if a person had chosen to absorb additional stones in the first playthrough it seems that choice should be reflected in this sequel considering what an impact it had on the normal and harder difficulty setting and more importantly what an impact chosing to take both the second and third stones had on the MC morality and relationship to SA.
If the option to retroactively become a vampire or establish a love affair with SA exist, so should the implications of events that led to those outcomes be optional.
OR
If the idea is to say that there is a pre-established canon resolution to HoV:G then I’d rather have full immersion into that narrative without the nostalgia for character choices in previous playthroughs such as the optional romances.
All in all the story feels incongruent having the option to carry SOME decisions over but not all.

When it comes to super powers I’d love to see utilized more, I really got a kick out of using the mind control power to make a character attack themselves! It was tremendous fun causing cyborgs, cops, and goons to just execute themselves, but the best moment was during a scene where the MC was questioning someone and made them slap themselves haha.
I’d like to see a plethora of options when it comes to mind control in combat in HoV:BR such as the option to cause Flying Death to just start digging into it’s own abdomen to pull out it’s guts, or Earth Rage to furiously shake it’s own leaves off.
Maybe even combos with engineering were a psychic can combine knowledge of the software with their psionic powers to manipulate the subroutines of Androids or power armor
And combos with telepathy where the MC steals portions of the targets psyche or intellect or skills to affect a knock out.

Great game so far mate! I’m barely beginning with my first few playthroughs but I’ll be around!

@JakRatchet thanks, I corrected those, thanks! (and invited you to the private beta, in case you also want to try that)

@TwoPiecedHeart ideally yes, but bear in mind that this version is just for playtesting really. In the final game you will be able to import saved characters from the first game (sorry, just I don’t want to spend a lot of time making very in-depth character creation for those who played the first game… as they can just import their characters later, if this makes sense?)

@CheffPanda you are right, dreams was not implemented, but it is implemented in the version I am going to push up later this afternoon (if you could go through it and give some feedback I’d be most happy! )

I couldn’t find the bug that you mentioned regarding xenobiology… though somebody else might have pointed it out in another thread. Anyway, if it is still there let me know and I’ll correct it.

But, the bug on the inventor path is now corrected, so that should work fine!

Regarding the stones… basically, nothing is implemented here, as it is not necessary for playtesting purposes. When a player brings a character from the previous game, that will all be reflected. However, it doesn’t make any changes story-wise (you are stronger, due to better choices, but there is no real consequence to the story, other than what is already reflected in stats). However, being in a relationship with the SA or being a vampire does have a major effect on the story. Hence why I need to include this for playtesting purposes… does this make sense? (and, just to emphasize, no, there will be no “pre-established canon resolution”… the second part will remember how the first finishes, though not all things have an impact). But, if there is something I am missing let me know (basically, you taking the stone from the museum in the first game gives you a boost, and makes the SA hurt you, and that will be reflected when the save feature in the game is implemented)

Anyway, I have just invited you to the beta. This weekend I was working on some of the suggestions that you made at the end (and which others also made). Please let me know how they feel, and any other thoughts.

Sorry, I dont understand… I just checked and the save system seems to be working?

You aren’t trying to save on the stats page, right? Because some wips don’t allow it since it breaks the save.
