Guenevere (WIP)

I would assume that Mordred isn’t in that trope because while he is conceived by Arthur and Morgana having sexual intercourse, neither of them are either sexually nor romantically interested in the other. The tropes first line defines it as ‘romantic or sexual attraction between siblings’, which neither Arthur nor Morgana possess. Mordred’s conception is apparently a source of great traumatisation for both of them going off of what Jean said would be done in Guenevere.

But again, Mordred hasn’t arrived in the game yet, so I wouldn’t expect him to be any tropes other than the hypothetical. But once he’s in, I’m betting quite a variety of tropes will be added.

I identified with It’s All About Me and Your Cheating Heart. :joy:

Lancelot kinda reminds me of Jaime Lannister (minus incest) because he is all about undying loyalty for his love.

 I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO MAKE ONE. Gonna make a list of things to add to it.

I know this is from an old post, but with over 7000 on here, it can take a while to look through

Lol This is exactly how I imagined my main Guen! As a female Arthur . Only she’s a bit more meek, and swap out leadership for LM. She’d probably follow him through hell and high water in the most delightfully outrageous ways . She even liked Arthur’s sheep idea lol.

Lol Oh my… I heard a friend say this once, but he also said, “As long as there’s love, everything else will work out.” Does Arthur feel this way? “Love conquers all” kind of thing?

And the MBTI for the characters are everyone in my family lol. I thought they seemed familiar…

Also, the more I read (and play), the more fascinated I am with all the thought and care you put into creating your characters. All the beautiful insights and details!! I loved reading about the way Arthur, Lance, and Morgana feel about partners and love . You never cease to amaze me with your lovely talent . Bravissimo!!

And congrats on the TVtropes . Keep up the great work!!

What are the MBTI types for the main characters, anyway? I’ve actually been wondering this, but I never go back and check.

Arthur’s the only one I can probably pin down; he’s probably an ENFJ from the sounds of it, but the others could be a multitude.

The post I read was #5965 (from jeantown). If I remember correctly

• Arthur - ENFJ (but he borderlines on his I/E and J/P)
• Lance - ENFP
• Morgana - ISFJ (but she borderlines on her T/F)

It’s a lot of fun to read about what type they all are. You’re right about Arthur  good job.

-sigh-

Once again…

It’s all quite interesting. I’m actually in the same boat as you in regards to the categorisations; my mother is an ENFJ (same as Arthur), and my sister is an ENFP (same as Lancelot). I haven’t personally come across any ISFJ’s or ISTJ’s in real life, but it’s still quite interesting.

It’s also interesting to see how people style their Guen’s; my Guen seems to be very similar to an ENTJ personality type; she favours Leadership first and Light Magic second and is pretty much the textbook definition of a strong leader. It’s actually quite poetic; her and Arthur seem to be two sides of the same coin in the sense that they’re both natural, effective leaders, but Guen can step in when Arthur is being too idealistic, and Arthur steps in when Guen is being a bit too ruthless. Of course, she can be caring and she’s fiercely loyal to those she deems worthy of this affection, but while she can be surprisingly compassionate to the lower-class members of Camelot, people often have to provide extremely detailed reasons for why she shouldn’t do what she’s planning to do, and derailing her is next to impossible.

I think that’s her main drawback; as compassionate as she can be, she often sees the politics of Camelot and even the wars that they wage as a massive game of chess; Arthur and Lancelot and Morgana often have to keep her in check. She’s practically a genius in politics and military strategy for this reason, but obviously seeing the entire world as a game of chess isn’t very beneficial for her personality and attitudes. She’s mindful of other people but only to the bare minimum; she isn’t going to win any personality contests any time soon.

And @OtherGrimm does this happen a lot? Has this discussion passed and this is unnecessary? I don’t like it when I’m not here for this stuff, I’m sorry.

It’s fine. It has been asked before (I quoted my earlier response to that same question), but it is a lot to search through. Some questions are bound to come up more than once.

They are bound to, but it’s been filed now; I won’t need to ask for it again. Others might, but I won’t if it’s any consolation.

And going back and quoting it was greatly appreciated.

I missed a lot of stuff in previous posts too.

My mother and hubby are both ENFJ. My father, brother, and most of my guy friends are ISFJ/ISTJ/ENFP. Being that my hubby is like Arthur, it is no wonder I fell for him. However, having guy friends like Lance, I play my main Guen with the notion of “You’re a great friend, but… cool your jets!” Lol, she does luv him though (friendly). And I just want to hug Morgana everytime I see her. The way Morgana and Lance look after Guen is really touching.

I luv your Guen . She’s well thought out.

My Guen’s slight differences from Arthur probably make her an INFP/INFJ. She can really get her head in the clouds and be overly idealistic. I think she has a sense of personal values that dictate everything she does. She really tries hard to make everyone happy and keep them safe.

I think its awesome how you guys know so much mbti since I only know my own and only care about it. Same with astrology, I know a whole lot about Capricorn but nothing about others… Morgana is a Capricorn too, right? The best people are.

I wonder what the MBTI of Mordred is going to be. Going off of stereotypical villains, I can narrow it down to one or two, but I’m not the one writing the character.

Hey everyone ! I’m the person who made the TVTropes page (long time lurker, first time poster). I’ll explain my reasoning for not including more Mordred stuff. Some other people have edited it and added stuff since (thank you for that!), but I’ve tried not to add anything specifically mentioned here on the forum that isn’t actually in the game itself yet. I made exceptions for Lance’s and Morgana’s sexualities because I figured that’s relevant to people insofar as its background character info that concerns representation. If Word of God has confirmed them as bisexual, I think that’s something people should be aware of regarding their characterization. The page keeps yelling at me to move Lance’s line to YMMV though.

On another note: if you play an immoral Guen, please consider looking at the page and adding trope examples that come up with those options. I’m a big weenie who struggles to be mean to fictional characters, so I feel like the page is lacking a little in that direction

“Red High Heels” by Kelly Pickler for my Guen. Sorry. Know I’m late to the party on that.

Weird week, sorry I haven’t been around…

@Junekitty Such fun to go back to that post! I’m glad you brought it back. It’s good for me to remember I’ve said these things.
Does Arthur feel this way? “Love conquers all” kind of thing?
Yes. His worldview on that may be somewhat influenced by his foster-parents, who are both romantics in their separate ways. His foster-mother Margaret is a passionate world traveler, always looking for new experiences, and his foster-father Ector is a charge-in-head-first kind of person who loves being in the thick of battle. Their relationship succeeds and is relatively romantic because Margaret is gone like 90% of the time. Absence makes the heart grow fonder in their case, and as a result, Arthur wasn’t exposed much to the bickering and tiredness that a lot of couples experience as their relationships grow old. (Whenever Margaret gets fed up with Ector, she just takes off for Sicily or something, and then when she returns six months later, she and Ector are thrilled to see each other again.)

It would be difficult to make Mordred anything other than an ENTJ. He’ll be the stereotype in plenty of ways – these are iconic characters I’m dealing with, after all – but I’ll do my best to make him interesting at the same time, the way I’ve tried to do with the other main characters so far.

@Renicula  aaaaaaaaaaaa!!! Many virtual hugs to you, thank you so much!! I really can’t express how happy the TVTropes page made me. It’s beautifully written, too, and gave me lots of interesting perspective on what I’m doing (which is what TVTropes is for, as far as I’m concerned: setting narratives in conversation with each other so that we can appreciate them better). Thanks also for explaining your reasoning behind what you included; I’m sure that helped clear things up. You’re the best!

Yes, that was one of the two. He’s probably going to be a great villain, but I’m worried about how much my Guen is going to relate to him; as I mentioned before she’s also an ENTJ, so would I be remiss in thinking that my Guen and Mordred are going to be practically kindred spirits?

If so, when Mordred interacts with Guen later in the story, is he going to be more receptive of your attention if you’re similar to him in terms of personality? And in terms of how much he wants you to go over to his side, because I really don’t see him passing up the opportunity to attempt to convince Guen to join him seeing as how she’s a strategic genius who thinks remarkably similar to him because of the identical types; together they could subjugate Camelot so hard. I’ve got this image in my head of Arthur and Lancelot and Morgana being genuinely concerned about how similar Mordred is to Guen. Like, secret meeting-up scared that Guen will join him.

I’ve also got this image in my head though of my Guen who doesn’t join Mordred, but she’s still extremely unnerved about how similar they are, with thoughts of how Mordred is very likely what she could have been plaguing her mind. It would be remarkably good for symbolism that way though; Guen personifying the capability for greatness against Mordred personifying the capability for darkness. I know it’s meant to be Arthur not Guen, but Arthur would still be the champion for all that is good, but Guen would be the one side of a metaphorical coin with Mordred on the other side. She’d be a true main character with that.

That went on longer than I expected.

Maybe. Sometimes though the people who we hate the most are the ones who are the most like us. Nothing like the other side of our coin to point out our own flaws.

Will Morgana be pissed at us if we date Mordred?? (When youre not with her obviously) Thats the only thing standing in the way of another RO for one of my Guens.
