Guenevere (WIP)

@shirette Thank you so much for making the account! I’m delighted that you like the game that much. Believe me, I am dying to share part 2 with people probably 10x as much as anyone wants to read it… but the more I work on it, the more I think it’s going to be worth the wait!

@Ponku How have I never run into The Royal Trap? I may just have to try that one…

Yes, Jeantown. Just about everything from Hanako is good, but The Royal Trap is probably going to be right up your alley. Even if Hanako’s puns are worse than mine.

CAUTION: THIS REPLY CONTAINS PICTURES OF A BEAUTIFUL MAN WHO MAY OR MAY NOT (BUT DEFINITELY WILL) MAKE YOU SELF IMPLODE. You have been warned!

@RedReaper Heheheheh omg! Don’t worry, I was blushing like a fool the whole time I was googling these pictures so you’re not alone! I would apologize if I was sorry!
Maybe I’m getting ahead of myself here but I can just imagine Tom as Arthur, absolutely heartbroken if your Guen was torn between Arthur and Lance, and decided to choose Lance in the end and THIS BEAUTIFUL, SAD FACE! Or Arthur with his child like !!!

@jeantown Haahahahah you don’t know how happy I am casting Tom as Arthur :"> Hey, I’m all up for Tom playing everyone and well… yeah 8-> Now I’m smiling like an idiot again! This is why we have young Tom Hiddleston! And he can progress to be his stunning self in future parts!
I see! Sometimes I have trouble picturing people which is why I like knowing who other people thought of, especially the author  Ooooh, I never did picture Sam as Lance but I just might start to!

@Ponku Me too! Maybe we should all give in to him :> I am currently in the middle of downloading things he’s been in since I can’t get enough!

@Ponku Thanks will keep your suggestions in mind when I finish this dreaded thesis I’m working on. I think I’ve actually played a WinterWolves game already (Vera Blanc). Will check them out

I would totally cast Tom Hiddleston as Arthur, but only if he were younger, as Arthur is meant to be a floaty 17-year-old, not the badass hunk that is Tom Hiddleston.

@Ceecrab
ARE. YOU. TRYING. TO. TORTURE. ME!? All those links… I’ll AT LEAST get a nosebleed, if not some kind of heart dysfunction.

I was playing the game again, and I realise that Lancelot is a badass in every single circumstance. I mean, he even swallows the padzar medicine without any water! How macho!
I’m still striving towards buying your book, jean. I’ll find an amazon gift token so I can pay the 70p or whatever!

@trollhunterthethird
Badass hunk in this scenario is Lancelot IMO. Perfect description  (No, I’m not trying to win anyone over to team Lancelot or anything…)

Double post! Gyaah!

@RedReaper There should be another free day in a few weeks – I don’t know if you have to have a credit card on your account to download the free copy or not, but I can certainly let you know when the free day will happen. Sorry it’s so much trouble!

anyone know any romance games like this one i can play while i wait for chapter 2???

@shirette As far as I know, your best bet is probably visual novels. If you scroll back up through the thread, you’ll see some good VN recommendations. I just played the demo for The Royal Trap, and it looks interesting.

I’m so excited for chapter 2 to come out! I’m going to do my best to wait patiently…oh it’s soooo hard!
In the meantime, are all of the books going to take place 5 years after the other? Maybe one could take three years, another six years etc. It might seem a little more realistic if something really big in Guen’s life happens more than just every 5 years. I hope I don’t sound pushy because I don’t mean to be. It just crossed my mind the last time I played so…probably the fourteenth time. I still can’t do a play through where I’m mean to Arthur…I just can’t!

@jeantown I agree with dark bear. Mabye the second one can be 2 years after the first one and mabye the third one can be 4 years after the second one.

Hm… I hadn’t thought much about the regular intervals, other than that the whole thing needs to cover a lifetime. I suppose it’s rather artificial to say that the main events of Guen’s live happen at exactly five-year intervals… but a certain amount of time needs to pass in order for things to happen; for example, Gawain is old enough to be knighted at the beginning of part 3. I’ll file that away as something to think about, though. Once the later parts are more developed, I can see if it would make more sense to have more/less time between them. Thanks, as always, for the suggestions!

I also thought that intervals between books may be a little to long, especially after first book. Those are the first years of their marriage so i thought they were important to development of their relationship, but i trust that you have a plan to cover that in 2nd book and when i read it i wont feel as i missed anything.
I totally understand that you want books to cover whole life of Guen. Dont know if that what you plan, but i imagined her changing from lost but tough girl to someone sort of queen Elizabeth 1st later.

@shirette I really enjoyed Regency Love by Tea for Three Studios. It’s not the same genre. If you like Jane Austen you’ll probably like it. It’s only been released on iOS

Hmm… the more I think about it, the more I think it wouldn’t mess up the ultimate timeline to at least move parts 1 and 2 a little closer together chronologically. I’d say it’s a strong possibility.

The amount of Tom Hiddlestone on this thread is… comforting. cx I love seeing him anywhere. He’s beautiful and such an amazing person in every single way. I’m practically swooning.

Anyway, on with what I actually came here for! I loved the demo and love that it’s an Arthurian based game. Being an otome fan myself, I’m actually more than thrilled to have found this game. I’m already swooning over Lancelot. It’s a really well thought out game and I can’t wait for more.

@Lola098, glad to have another person of good taste in the thread. Very, very glad you enjoyed the game, and thanks for your post!

I love Guen so much, but I’ve felt unsatisfied with a lot of portrayals with her. You know how it is: with these kind of things, you develop your own interpretation and so then nothing matches up.

But here I get to make my Guen easily, in a really wonderful setting that has it’s own flavor, lots of room to move in, and is classic enough to not feel too different!

I’m so happy with how Arthur, Lancelot, and Morgana are portrayed. (Also, attracted to all of them. Yowza.)

Arthur is strong, but idealistic and super sweet, and exactly how I’d imagine and ideal king to be. You can see where Guen could end up cheating on him, since he’s a bit oblivious, even if it is a totally sweet way, but you can also see that he’ll learn to be better if you continue his romance- and you can see he’s not dumb, nor totally oblivious to the intrigue going around him. Capable but still cute and young!

Lancelot is equally as dreamy, a bit darker than Arthur in his willingness to do what it takes, and also stranger from being from Avalon, but also a kind, approachable and loyal best friend.

MORGANA. Darker than Lancelot, tough, intelligent, nice but aloof and also dangerous. I like how the friendship (and beginnings of romance) is nicely developed with Guen.

Things I liked:

  1. LOVE that Guen is older than Arthur. Always felt it should be that way.
  2. Yes, being able to have feelings for multiple people! And to state being interested in both women and men!
  3. Being able to make Guen a variety of different kinds of a Queen!
  4. Sweet old absent-minded Merlin!
  5. FAE LANCELOT YEAHHHH.
  6. MORGANA NOT BEING STRAIGHT.
  7. Female knights! As it should be.

Hopes:

OT3 options for Guen/Lancelot/Arthur. C’mon, that’s like my favorite wish for Arthurian stuff.

I know Morgana/Morgause are combined here, but I really hope she won’t be Mordred’s mom. I dislike Morgana being the kid’s mom and prefer Morgause, so if they’re combined here I’d be uncomfortable romancing her with Guen if that happened.

Anyway, loved it, can’t wait for the next one! I also passed it around to more people I know on tumblr.

I really enjoyed this! The way you set up the game made it so that you can have any set-up that you think is plausible for Guenevere.
