@jeantown Alright.
@jeantown yeah , that shows you could have strong characters more mature rpg real choices and romance for less than five euros. i have planet stronghold ,remember me bionic heart , and some other i just forget name i dont have winter summer to childish for me .
You Know im waiting you add a Zevran like character in your game i could romance planet poison someone alone is just no same fun. XD.
I must write a otome game called a poisonous heart . In a sci fi universe a princess has to choose a husband between a man from one of 6 noble families and kill the others in sacrifice of the poison goddess Astarte .
@MaraJade I would totally play that game and you should stop everything else youâre doing and write it right now.
Do you fullfil the rite, do you confront goddess or you just poison all of them and romance the badass inmortal goddess transform yourself in one. Poisonous heart they die for please you XD
@jeantown Is this the first story you have written? Because I would like to play/read more of your workâŚ
@valkycam This is my first attempt at IF. I do have a non-interactive book series called
New Arcana. Itâs fantasy rather than romance, but has a lot of emphasis on character relationships.
@jeantown, sorry if youâve answered this already but are you planning on uploading the complete demo of book 2 like you did book 1 or will post parts or chapters as you go along?
@jeantown Well shit, now Iâm conflicted as heck now that you mentioned Arthur having Tomâs looks and Lance having his personality! Things just got a little more interesting. Because really, who could ever resist this? Or this, this, please? 8->
And Iâve always wondered, who do you actually picture them as? Do you have a face claim for Guen, Arthur, Lance, Morgana or anyone else?
@Jeantown
Iâm in the right place now weâre down to abbreviating it to TH.
I sort of imagined Lancelot looking, AND acting like him. TH is more of a senpai age, and therefore I think he fits Lance quite well. Arthur was more of a cute blonde guy
@ceecrab
I get so embarrassed looking at pictures like that!!! Look what youâve done! Youâve made me giggle! Feel guilty! Now I have to go look at pictures of oil machinery and fractional distillation in order to calm down for my science projectâŚ
@Marajade
That sounds like a really awesome plot. You should go for it!
Holy crap! First time I played this and all I can say is wow.
In future books, is Guen going to have more romance choices or are you going to stay with Arthur, Lancealot, and Morganna?
Okay, on the general casting issue⌠the great thing about a text-based game is that you get to picture the characters however you want. I will say that the lovely Mr. H never crossed my mind while I was writing the game (because heâs so much older than the main chars), but if you want to cast him, or a version of him, in your own reading of the game, please do!
In fact, we could have him play ALL the parts, including Guenevere, because then weâd be able to see him making out with himself⌠*ahem* I digress.
My own mental images of the characters are mostly combinations of people I know in real life. (Their personalities, too, are to some extent mashups of different people Iâve known.) If I had to do casting, Iâd say that I have a hard time thinking of Morgana without Katie McGrathâs BBC-Merlin Morgana coming to mind, though my Morgana has a more mature personality. Sam Claflin is not too terribly far off from how I pictured Lancelot as I was writing it. As for Arthur, my mental image (boyish and innocent) really is too much like someone I once knew irl, and I donât know of any actors who look quite like that. For Guenevere, I try to avoid thinking or saying anything specific about what she might look like, since that really needs to be up to the reader. When Iâm writing the scenes, Guen is almost like a blank silhouette in my mind, or sheâs the camera lens through which the scenes appear.
So Iâve decided that while I might include some spot illustrations with the final version of the game, I am definitely not going to have character portraits, because what one person finds attractive, another might find repulsive. I think itâs far better to let the reader build a mental picture based on what theyâre being told, so if they think Lancelot is attractive or repulsive, they can imagine him with features that fit those qualities in their own mind.
Other questionsâŚ
@attolia Right now Iâm planning to wait until all of part 2 is done to upload it. I know that will be a long time, but I think it will be a lot more satisfying to play all at once. (Plus that gives me motivation to finish the whole thing faster.)
@Beezlebub Thank you!
@Dark_Bear2899 The main story is about those four main characters â itâs going to be super-complicated to get all the nuances of the possible variants and personality-changes in those relationships, without adding more on that level, However, I wonât say that there will never be anyone else with whom Guen might get involved in some way⌠it just wonât be at the same level of complexity.
I havenât found anyone interestinâ of yet.
@jeantown
Is there any other way to buy your book than kindle? I havenât got an amazon account, and getting one might be a little difficult.
Is it available on iTunes or play books or something like that?
@jeantown Itâs good that you dont want to describe the looks of main character to much. I remember that i saw ppl complaining about MC in way walkers has to have black hair (or sth like that). I dont see to much issue here myself, if hero doesnt look like i would want to look, then its just another way at roleplaying, but a lot pll prefer their main character to be the way they imagined.
@ceecrab Ohh i thought about posting those pictures myself I really need to watch that show, if only just for him
@RedReaper getting account shouldnt be imposssible, i remember that it requires american addres and there are some pages on the internet that generates fake addresses exactly for that purposes (those are entirely fakes, nothing illegal as far as i know)
@Bagelthief, ah, well, the characters are somewhat limited by the Arthurian tradition and by the scope of the game (a few complex relationships rather than a lot of simpler ones). Maybe youâll like them better after time changes them a bit, or maybe youâll never like them â thatâs okay with me!
@RedReaper, argh, Iâm sorry about that. I do want to get on more platforms eventually (through Smashwords), but Amazon will only let me have the free days if I donât publish anywhere else, and since I donât think people should have to pay for a first book by a self-published author, I really want those free days, at least for the moment. I donât know if the book is worth going to crazy lengths for⌠the best I can do is to promise to let you know when I get it onto Smashwords. (Maybe after my initial 90-day soul-selling to Amazon runs out in two months.)
Ive been a long time fan of choice of and i love this gsme. I made an account just so I could let that be known. I also got your book for my kindle and I would kill for you to release even a little of chapter 2
@Ponku
No, I mean, I donât have a credit card to hook the amazon account up to. I might be able to find a gift card to top up an account though
@RedReaper www.fakenamegenerator.com you wouldnt be able to buy anything but should be enough to get free stuff
@valkycam all winterwolves games are on renpy list, apart from them good ones are The Royal Trap (strong female hero) or Rising Angels: Reborn (sci-fi with interesting story but not much romance yet) and few other i cant remember titles now. The list is very long on the site and checking them would take a while
@Ponku Iâve been watching lets play videos for the past hour now for Royal Trap. Really intriguing stuff!
