Good Names for a Country?

That or the original names were hopelessly confused or jumbled due to the amalgamation of subjugated nations (or intentionally rubbed out to prevent awkwardness or embarrassment) . . .

Well… person place or things, names aught to have the right sound to them. Countries do have personality and you can almost feel it when saying it. Or rather you have an image and tone that comes to mind when saying it.

When you say America you get an instant feel for the name good or bad.

So that in mind… imagine a country known for mining and masonry. Rock steel and hard work. Hardy hardworking people dirtied with coal soot and sweat. The name of such a place would be as solid and to the point as the people. Something with a hard simple sound.

The nation of:
Gautz
Stohl
Tyrg
Pahvo
Quome
Kehgal

I could go on forever.

You should use http://fantasynamegenerators.com/

Personally, I’m not a big fan of using name generators because it doesn’t really feel like it’s “my” work. That’s why I prefer naming countries on my own and giving them names with meaning because usually name generators don’t provide meanings for names.
