Great idea and great execution. Loved the game.
compared to many of the Choice Of Games/Hosted Games I’ve played, this one was unique. the story had my curiosity from the start, and the experience of playing as a ghost was really enjoyable. i really wish there a bit more development in the romance aspect, but I still felt a strong connection with William<3. Given that the main focus of the story is playing as a ghost, it’s understandable. the reactions of the family were also realistic, which made the story more immersive. i loved playing this and wouldn’t mind a part 2 to continue the story. thank you
The game is now available as a standalone app on the Google Play Store.
Finally, congratulations @Nerull on the release…
It’s … definitely not that kind of story. And if it were, I don’t think they would have published it. It’s almost impossible to imagine how that kind of extremely dubious consent could be written in a way that wasn’t grossly offensive.
It’s just an almost impossible concept for them to publish that but they could do a romance with the daughter and I could incarnate you or something
It’s a fun game! I’m having trouble figuring out some of the achievements, though.
I haven’t been able to scare any of the characters to death, and I didn’t unlock any achievements for making them believe in my existence even after I got a couple of them up to 100% belief. Any pointers on getting those achievements?
I’d like to know too, I’ve gotten everyone to 100% belief, literally had Amber say she believes in my characters existence but I haven’t gotten any of the achievements for it, also abit confused about the achievements about haunting characters since I try to do when possible but haven’t unlocked yet, a guide would be helpful.
Please, please, please, will someone edit this game!!! Circular coding, scenes repeat, choices forgotten, and a dead person who still manages to move afterwards! Thats just on one run-through! I don’t like posting anything like this, but this time its necessary because its a great story that needs a good polish to make it up to a great game, and the editing lets it down badly.
Unfortunately the majority of the current reviews on Steam agree with me
If you have screenshots or specifics, you might want to send them to support@choiceofgames.com, which is the best way of dealing with any errors you find in a published game.
About the achievements: they should be fixed with tomorrow’s patch! You’ll just have to access the Show Stats menu when reaching 100 in a stat to get the achievement.
@barca1au
Hey, thanks for playing! Did you play a recent version of the game? The dead person issue should be fixed since Friday, less than a day after the game got out. I’ve played multiple times since and asked some players and it seems to have been resolved.
What do you mean exactly by circular coding? And could you please tell me which scene was repeated?
Thank you!
@Nerull
I purchased the game on its first day, and I have just finished my second run-through, and Steam has not done an update yet. Somewhere in the scene in the crypt during the gun battle something has gone wrong with the coding. This latest run-through, Violet was stabbed and the next page stated Michael had been killed. He then came back to life the following page. On my first run-through, Michael gets half his face blown away and dies, then comforts one of his children on the following page! I can’t identify the pages on Steam at this stage, but will do a rerun and get screen shots and make a note of where exactly this happens, plus exactly where the circular coding is that I have found. I don’t know if its the same problems as the others who have mentioned it on Steam, however it happened during the Halloween party, and to get out of it I had to make a different choice.
Perhaps some others playing the Steam version can see if they can duplicate these anomalies?
Turns out I downloaded and was playing the second update (1.02) on 6th Oct, and Steam FINALLY updated it to version 1.04 this morning, missing out 1.03. Nothing unusual in what happened as I’m in Australia and the time difference always makes a mess of things, though 5 days in this case is a bit long. Hopefully I can now play it through without hitting those bugs! Off to change my Steam review and explain about the slow updating.
Finally had a chance to play this, and enjoyed it, particularly the New England setting. Admittedly, I couldn’t help but feel that the game was overly constrainted by its generally PG approach. That hid away what could also have been a really great 70’s horror or 80’s sex comedy game, something reinforced by when the game does flirt with those extremities. Still, I enjoyed the plot and interactions that were there, and the different ways ghost builds could create multiple avenues of approach. I need to replay a bit more, and wanted to at least pass along my congrats in the meantime!
Another one here who enjoyed the game.
I’m a goody-two-shoes ghost who helped both Samantha and Michael achieve their dreams, plus gotten both Amber and Oliver together with their love interests. And also, I love Lily Edgeworth.
Although, I feel that the story could be extrapolated by run-ins and battle with other spirits (can a ghost be afraid of another ghost?), and the ability to hunt more places in further angles.
Attack the minions how?
