Game series best way to release sequels?

Do you prefer sequels to be released in the same app (IAP) I.e Affairs of the Court

Or as a separate app I.e Heroes Rise?

I’m trying to decide which format is more popular?

I prefer whole new apps

IAP for in-app content (added professions/perks); new app for future games in a series.

Does making it an IAP assist in preserving stats, variables and such or is that a nonfactor?

I think it’s better to release it as a seperate game just like real games do it like batman and other games.
But that’s what I think.

Though your game will be called unnatural season 2 which would probably make it better as a IAP
