While unbelievably awesome, I have to bring up one thing. When the MC finds the photo of themselves online, taken after the Nanosurge, it mentions them smiling in the picture because they’d just saved the day. With that full face mask, I’m not sure it would be possible to tell that they’re smiling in the picture.
Of course, my memory might be faulty and given that the part I’m proofreading doesn’t cover that scene, I can’t exactly look it up to double check.

Oh, you’re right…! I definitely remember that as well. Maybe Sidestep is smizing so hard that it shows through the blue eyeholes? 
Yeah, both there are some things in the game that will be adjusted with the new suit in mind.
Another scene I think would be interesting is another look at whatever connects the MC to the villain terrorizing LD just to make the player sweat a little.
For example, if the MC has enough arrogance(?) they are able to say that their villian name is Sidestep. That is later called into question by Ortega but they think that it is about someone out to get them rather than the MC. I think that something like this would be interesting if it were also question by another Ranger such as the much more suspicious and less trusting Steel. This could leave the MC sweating as Steel regularly uses anti-telepath tech which would also block the MC from reading any surface thoughts to get a better feel for the situation like with Ortega. Unlike Ortega, Steel would also question the MC’s connection to the new villain, believing that their emergence and the MC’s sudden… aliveness to be too close in timing to be a coincidence.

MC: Catalogs all escape routes and weak points for quick strikes. Makes back up plans for back up plans for escape. Sweats profusely.
Steel: “This new ‘Sidestep’ is after you… aren’t they?”

Steel: “Ortega told me about you being kidnapped from the Heartbreak incident. If we hadn’t heard from you or your kidnappers in all that time, it’s likely that you have been lying low to avoid notice. This could be a ploy to draw you out.”
MC: “It’s possible…” Contains sigh of relief.[/details]
I also am having a difficult time believing that neither Steel nor Ortega have any knowledge of the MC being a stronger telepath than they let on. Wasn’t the MC with them when they were taking out the guy controlling the nanomachines? If MC was the one to hold the murder cloud in place while the Rangers took out the big baddie, how could they not know that MC is secretly an alpha level telepath? This would help further explain Steel’s animosity towards MC. He already doesn’t like telepaths and secretive people, but now this person that his best friend and teammate is in love with is an even stronger telepath with probably even more secrets? Why would anyone how survived the gamble of the hero drug want to hide an incredible rare level and type of power? Suspicous.
But to explain this away, I guess something like this could have happened?
Steel: I thought MC said that they could barely do anything past reading surface thoughts!
Ortega: Yeah, but they are clearly hiding their power for a reason, so let’s just leave it alone.
Steel: Great, more secrets with this one.
Perhaps it is a skin tight mask like Deadpool’s?

Ahem. On a more in topic discussion, I do think @Kattz has a point. We definitely need more Steel scenes, especially considering his reaction when Ortega decided to bring in the MC to help with Argent’s problem. Add in what she’s mentioned about MC’s and his shared past and his dislike for secrets + telepaths, there’s a lot of material that I’m very excited to play/discover :))
If possible, maybe the MC can get into Steel’s headspace O: (idk how this fits into the plot but maybe on a much later point than the cut off)
I just realized i’d love to see a scene involving a plane. mid-fall fight with herald over the ocean maybe? send him flying and then use your telepathy to get a whale to swim you back to the coast.
Why not just use telepathy to tell an orca to eat Herald while we are at it…
But seriously now, can MC even influence the thoughts of animals? 
I was under the impression, that MC’s telepathy is rather human specific.
Don’t you corrupt the poor sharks to the dark side, they just want a calm life and something eat! No need to get them in trouble

I LOVE the “Who you are in the dark” scenes. In books, popular media. . .Anything, really. Speaks volumes about people, even if they don’t necessarily want to admit that to the world at large.

Hmm… for some reason this made me think: What about a scene in which another villain is doing their own villainous thing and the MC (not in their suit, just as a civilian- maybe with Ortega?) is in the area that they’re doing their villainous thing.
It’d be interesting to have them watch the Rangers from a civilian’s perspective (which is where the ‘with Ortega’ part came to mind, if Ortega was there and immediately rushed into battle because, well, hero, and the MC could see the whole process from an outsiders perspective.)
(Especially if Ortega knew that the MC still had their powers, would they ask the MC to help in any way? Help get people out of harms way or to help them fight somehow?)
If given the option while waiting for the rangers I would play with the fog horn if we got a boat scene because again no reason to be an adult except possibly the murderous villain part
I like the idea of the MC getting caught up in another villains attack while with Ortega in ‘civilian mode’, it’s another opportunity to (a). mess with their head, (b). Give them a chance to experience ‘first hand’ what they have only experienced vicariously through the Puppet & ©. Perhaps give the MC the nudge they need to change their path, if it is still possible by that point…

I played this WIP alot. I usually create a NB character named Taylor Drake. They have brown eyes and tan skin and they are seen as white. I pick shoulder length wavy black hair. For the puppet I create a Latina girl with the name Isabella. She have green eye and short and wild straight black hair.
If you pick an unusual swear like " Hell’s bells" That can be a big WTF moment for Ortega.
I mean that Ortega’s exBF and LI using the same swear? I wasn’t feeling the aster there.
Wow, I was expecting the sidestep suit to look goofy and colorful, but that design looks awesome, especially the one with the hood. Love the futuristic style with the monochromatic color scheme and neon highlights.
After seeing that, I’d be curious to see your artist’s take on the villain suits as well.
The Timestep suit is so cooler than what I pictured in my head. The girl version looks to be inspired by SpiderGwen!!

Looking at the suit, I like the symmetry of the pattern on the left suit, but I really like the hood on the suit to the right.
So is there a way to try the game out still? Or am I too late to get in on it?
