My main Sidestep is like this. So far nobody suspects he’s the villain and he has every intention of keeping it this way. I had to make other MCs to see all the juicy drama that comes when others suspect you’re the villain/you’re outed in the end.

Same apart from now that step is gonna have a bad time until the puppet is back or replaced. Transactions from step and the doc are more difficult for now.

The only character I haven’t interacted with LA cos I don’t really like the character even though step probably deserves to lose their eye for mind hacking her.

Things with Chen are a bit tense but less than before learning their secrets.

Fanboy is awkward trying to help step especially if we humiliated him on camera found out we did it.

Ortega is headstrong as ever but it’s thanks to that we are friends or closest to one. They have smarted up quite a bit since they are on to something with HG.

I think this is the first time I ever saw someone saying they dislike Argent. I was almost convinced I was the only one with how rare it is lol.

I like Ortega, Chen and Herald though, so most of the time my MCs are on good terms with them unless I’m trying to see something specific.

I also dislike Argent. I love Ortega tho.

I feel a tad better now I know I’m not feeling the odd black sheep not liking LA. I was expecting a hurricane of backlash from that comment. Most of them are fine with step as long there’s no kills unless it’s accidentally deaths they don’t know about.

Sentinel has returned to the city, and I think sunstream is still alive somewhere. Sidestep was probably also at least acquainted with some corporate heroes and vigilantes who are still alive, though most probably aren’t active anymore.

There are also some short stories about the other heroes on the patreon, like sidestep and ortega having a party on the beach with a bunch of them.

Lots of heroes and vigilantes to kill

Oh I love that story and i like that it’s told from Ortega’s POV. Sidestep may have an inferiority complete and some, eh, mild issues, but damn they knew how to play the mystery card.

Another music rec for a (relatively) new song:

SIAMES - The Phoenix

The lyrics make me think of Sidestep reflecting on the old vigilante days after their second escape from the Farm.

And now I’ve found a place to be myself,
I set my spirit free to fly away,
It’s time for me to leave my other self,
Wandering

Forgetting who I was and being reborn,
'Cause I am not the one I thought I was,
I’m giving up that old version of me,
Baby

Phoenix is a good name for a villain, imo. It looks good on t-shirts, posters, etc xd Just the picture of the bird and everyone in the city knows what does it mean.

One of my villains is Black Phoenix and I imagine they use that kind of icon

I feel rather dumb asking this but who was the sniper working for who shoots the car’s tire in the end of retribution ?

I ask this because i don’t think it was HG since he can let you go

We don’t know for sure yet but there is a chance they are the same one who blew off one of Chen’s arms. It could also be that Ortega is the target not Step since from what I recall they only shoot if Ortega is in the car and you are not cashing it yourself whenever you are in Step or the puppet. Deadeye might be a good guess too since we know that HG does let some of their “employees” take jobs from others as long as it doesn’t cause problems

It still could of been planned by HG to try to put a leash on Step. As a way to not screw him over and draw attention away from the meeting by getting Step caught by heroes

right, there is a sniper. I keep forgetting.

I was under the impression that the sniper was Sentinel, working for Lord Ember as a vanguard of his imminent gang war with HG.

His Void pov did seem to hint that he’d turn villain in the future, and he was already watching the casino before the shooting.

Famous You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain huh?
I hadn’t thought of Sentinel that way. It would be cool, tho

Isn’t Sentinel still in contact with Ortega? I dont see why he would shoot her.

He didn’t shoot them though. He shot the car’s tires. The objective was to fuck up the PC’s meeting with HG by making them think HG was out to get them, ensuring that HG wouldn’t have an ally in the form of the PC.

Oretga was collateral, if he even recognized them at all. They were in disguise at the time.

And if Sentinel knew that the PC is the Villain, even better, that’s another potential villain out of the running that can’t oppose Lord Ember’s takeover.

I wager the only reason he didn’t just outright shoot the PC was out of respect for their past working together as Rangers.
