Fallen Hero: Revelations (WIP) Updated: Feb 07 (new demo links)

Of course she did. This path only confirmed to me that she’s not trustworthy and there’s no point in being friends with her. Scientists. They’re all the same :unamused:
Fortunately, I was never interested in her romantically.

A+ GIF use. And yeah, much like going to see HG unmasked as Sidestep makes zero sense to me, putting yourself on the directorate’s radar by interacting in any way with the regenes in rebirth is equally befuddling. I’ve done it in alternate playthroughs but I could never make the logic leap in my primary playthrough. The most I deviated was rescuing Rosie and drafting her into service. Testing this demo has definitely had me thinking outside the box because I’m constantly working at it from a position of “how do players let themselves end up in this situation?!?”

I don’t think Mortum betrayed us (unless we have upset them enough that they decide handing us in for certain torturous death is retribution enough, which I doubt). However, they were almost certainly on the Farm radar (but until now, not a priority) prior to meeting Sidestep, since they had numbers and knew what regene tattoos were, without context.

Well for a step’s who plan is freeing the regenes or at the very least the ones at the farm, the idea of killing one even if they try to kill you might bother them

well I think Mortum did and no, I wasn’t an ass with her. I even romanced her :sob: That’s why it fucking…hm…piss me off! was gonna say Hurt but I aint there yet.

As for trying to fight them in the first place, there is trying to save the lives of Wolf Pack along with Boris or for a arrogant Step trying to see if you can beat one but can’t go through with the kill. If you want me to grab more reasons I could ask the folk on the discord, we love talking about our Steps to the point where people like to come up with almost daily questions to ask

I don’t want to derail into a rebirth conversation, but the only way to put oneself in that position is by fighting the regenes in the first place, and that’s what my comment is about: I don’t get why the MC would ever choose to do anything but sneak in, get the cannon, and sneak out. If you’re sympathetic to them, why would you fight them and organize a better defense against them, and in all cases why would you want to alert the SD that an unknown variable is in the mix?

I suppose a “let me at 'em” approach would justify it but it tends to be jarring against the rest of the writing, which leans into staying off the radar and being in fear of discovery.

I do think that the dove conversation could use some more hostility choice toward the regenes whether thought or verbalized. There’s some caution over it but not a chance to express revulsion or anger (or some mix of that and other negative emotions) over being handled and near one. The same is true of Warehouse encounter in rebirth. Some amount of self-loathing should manifest in the MC’s attitudes and interactions with the regenes, if possible. EDIT: one specific spot that comes to mind is when Dove gets chastised for referring to the MC as cargo. That’s a great spot to let the MC either think or say aloud that Dove was right and/or chastise the regene for setting itself up for failure and betrayal by thinking its something other than it is. MC could even view saying such a thing as tough love.

Treating this way someone who had previously opened up and told them all secrets? Someone for whom such situation is like a nightmare? Mortum is smart enough to see this. But she did it anyway.

Like I said before Mortum thinks you betrayed them especially if you told them the truth since the puppet is up at the same time as you

So why when I kept saying they betrayed us, everyone kept saying no. Sheesh, I knew it!

But still…I’m feeding her to the cacofiend, which is inside her gun :joy:

Why should they believe you over the puppet since it’s the puppet who they like. (Not spoilers since you can tell from the endings in book 2 with Mortum pov @E_RedMark)

I have more that I want to say but can’t for now because of me not wanting Malin to get angry at me reasons

Whatever. She won’t get a second chance from me. I hope that I will be able to get rid of her somehow in B3. I’m sure she and Ace will be up to something against MC…

But also Mortum like most major characters won’t loss plot armor until book 4 but the puppet and HG on the other hand… (Feel better about talking about this since Malin said it multiple times on Tumblr)

Thats good news I guess? Cause we can vent all that frustration on those 2.

Betcha HG still has a foot print on her face :joy:

The puppet has no plot armor?

Good. That’s good…

A lack of plot armor doesn’t mean you can kill them.

It just means maybe you get to punch them or something. I doubt Ace role is that minimal.
