Fallen Hero: Revelations (WIP) Updated: Feb 07 (new demo links)

I bet.
“Oh, Chloé, ma chère…”

Actually except it’s fancy name for fancy girl, it was a little reference to the fact that Sidestep was hiding in this body xD If you rearrange the letters, you will get my Step’s name. Chloé. Cole.

Love it  Aren’t they the picture of kindness and innocence? So useful.

Ohh let’s Poll Poll! lol

Now that you had your fill of book 2, how do you feel about Dr.Mortum?
  • That goddamn Dr!!! Revenge will be sweet!
  • I’m heartbroken…just why?
  • Ah sweet angst, take hold of me and never let go (I screwed up on purpose, they are mad at me)
  • We have a business relationship, as long as they are useful…they can breathe.
  • We are friends and they will come through for my mc! (Stay positive Sidestep!)

It’s funny, for how much Sidestep seemed to assume the grass was greener for Ace pre-coma, it sounds like Ace might have kinda been like them.

I have a feeling I have to replay the first two games to appreciate the demo fully because it’s been too long, but honestly I just want to say I have been looking forward to Ace waking up and their possible relationship with Sidestep since the end of Book 1 when there was just a tiny hint that could happen. I’m so happy :sob:

It’s like shipping where you dream about two characters eventually kissing under the moonlight but I dreamed about Ace trying to choke Sidestep out  (Like literally verbatim how I imagined their “first” “meeting” gdhdjdfs)

Wait so it’s not canon that Sidestep is attractive? I always assumed that they were since they were a cuckoo. Wouldn’t it make sense for the SD to make the infiltrator units attractive or at the very least not ugly? Why make a spy with a butter face?

Not so much that Step is not attractive (Which is more of a headcanon thing) more so that the puppet is more attractive then Step

Technically we don’t know that either. We just know that Sidestep thinks the puppet is more attractive.

I always imagined them as deliberately average. Like the kind of person you can pass a hundred times and still not recognise them. Nothing helps blend in more than being completely forgettable.

In Rebirth they are described as “wearing their bruises (if Sidestep didn’t leave them in someone’s care at the gala) like badges”. I imagine that they are the sort of person that can make a hospital gown look good.

How many people chose mirror image puppets for their Sidesteps? I did for my main Step (Ace, if you squint, looks like a taller handsomer version of my Sidestep).

People tend to notice and remember hot people, and they pay more attention to them.

The ideal infiltrator is going to be unremarkable. Not hot, not ugly. Just a regular dime-a-dozen dude that you’ll forget about as soon as he’s out of sight, and that you wouldn’t be able to describe with any real detail if you were questioned about them later.

I pick mine basically at random every playthrough. The way I see it, there probably wasn’t a huge selection where Step could pick an ideal one out of a lineup, so mine just takes what he finds.

Ultimately, how hot Sidestep is up to player’s headcanon. As infiltrator, they were probably groomed and dressed up to look the part of an average person to blend in. But they could still be below or above average attractiveness, depending on who’s judging that (beauty is in the eye of the beholder). Anyway, this is just my opinion, because I refuse to believe that my Sidesteps are not super hot! :joy:

just super wimp lol

But yeah I agree.

I knew someone like that, a lesbian with this reputation of being super attractive in the gay community. Everyone wanted to be in her pant. Damn, here I thought…she must be a bombshell, dead drop gorgeous! Let me see! Let me see!

Yes she was tall. That is pretty much it. She looked average as fuck. And I was like ‘that is what got everyone drooling? Come on…’

So it really a matter of personal taste, and sometimes overblown exaggeration. I mean, we are talking about underworld community. Most of them just wanna get laid probably, and a rat would look attractive to them…

Ace: Are you dissing me on top of everything else?
Mc: Yeah, you want a piece of meh? Come and get it!

I wonder how the whole telepathy vs precognition thing will play out between Sidestep and Ace if they can’t come to an agreement and remain hostile. I’m excited to see how that feud would play it since Ace would be able to anticipate all of Sidestep’s moves while Sidestep has the advantage of always being privy to Ace’s thoughts. I’m inclined to believe that Sidestep will always have an edge since they’re a pretty powerful telepath but I cannot be certain since we don’t know the full extent of Ace’s precognitive abilities. What do you guys think?

If their precog is anything like Spider-sense then they’d woop our ass if they can fight.

doubt it. If their power were any good, they wouldn’t have ended up as lunch for Shroud.

You’re right, it’s actually an insult to Spider-sense to even compare them . Imagine having precog and still losing.

add to that, we’ve been using their body actively. You would think by now, their power would have worked on demand and not on ‘weird feeling, something is wrong’ stress trigger or whatever those were.

Unless of course they were faking it and wanted to be caught.

But that doesn’t explain why we can’t access and use their powers when we want them.

My guess on that matter is that using powers is a largely mental thing. Something like the mind controls the body.

So if there is “no mind” then whatever powers the body has can’t be accessed.

But, Ace’s mind has slowly been returning through some means. Tiny little scraps of a mind means that we can control tiny little scraps of power.

All of this happens through the lens of Sidestep being quite skilled at controlling normal human functions well enough but controlling powers seems to be more difficult.

No it’s not cannon, what’s cannon is sidestep has self-image problems and they also intentionally try to present themselves as normal as possible at least during book 1 to blend better. But how true sidesteps perception of themself is to reality (and if they are still trying to blend) is up to you. Also given how Malin tends to write I doubt it’s something they will ever give a cannon answer too, as it doesn’t matter only your perception and sidesteps perception matters.

Precog only helps you win a fight if that’s a fight you can win without it. It lets you know what you should do but it doesn’t make you anymore capable of doing it.

Sidestep is really powerful now. There’s a very good chance that all precog would do in a fight against Step is let you know just how badly you’re going to lose it.
