So, I decided to dig around with the CoG Save Manager, just to help myself understand the guides pinned up top. But after testing out a few things, I realized something: Ortega’s clue stat towards my Sidestep is locked, and won’t move up or down from 15.
Now, I’m either misunderstanding something (because there’s a lot in the “clue thing” doc I can’t parse) or something’s up. Which is it?
At first I thought perhaps Re-genes have a shorter lifespan, but I don’t know if the timeline adds up if that’s the case.
I thought that six years spent dreaming referred to your time as Sidestep, but then again there’s a high chance that’s not the case.
There have been a lot of hints that something is coming, that Sidestep is motivated by wanting to prepare for something. But they hold it close enough to their chest that even we as readers don’t know what it is. Can’t be certain, but I think this has to do with that
I don’t get the ending where MC is in the hospital and Ortega only knows about Re-Gene.
A few weeks ago I played and got this ending but now when I do this route with exactly same choices I get the ending where MC is revealed as the villain.

As the first sentence says, your average person spends about 6 years of their life dreaming. So “you have four years left, and you try to fit them all in your last remaining seconds” doesn’t literally mean the MC has only four years left to live; it’s a poetic way of saying they still have most of their life ahead of them and it feels like they’re experiencing all those years’ worth of dreams at once in their near-death dream.
Huh. If it was the same save file and the exact same choices, maybe a recent update tweaked things just enough to push you over the threshold…? That’s purely speculation on my part, but it’s possible one of the updates might have adjusted some numbers or fixed a typo that stopped a stat change from applying. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

How this bastard can find out that MC is Villain if he has no proof and I was choosing options that not arouse suspicions?
I had a run where this happened too but in my case it was just courtesy of Lady Argent. Sometimes I entertain the idea of flirt with her just to make my MC’s life easier
Argent can somehow make suspicion stat increase? My MC flirted with her at the beginning of game but nothing else happened between them after that…
I showed her the tattoos at the auction but not removed the helmet. In this scenario if your villain_relationship with her is below 55 she will tell Ortega that you’re the villain
Well, I sent Catastrofiend at her and left
What about Steel? He can tell Ortega too (if you’re a mass-murderer and he suspects your MC)
But he’s always suspicious of mc, no matter what mc we’re playing 
No, I mean if he suspects that you’re the villain specifically. It needs steel_clue 40 or something
