Hollow ground is not a group?I believe one of the guy gambling was part of the Hollow Ground? And the guy at the end à type of boss/capo?
They did wear a mask true, but they needed to be constantly on alert and hide from the Farm they couldn’t really be an official Ranger openly )due to the background check and vetting process with the government for that). They may have wanted/desired a certain amount of fame and being able to live their lives openly but due to the Farm and likely being a re-gene they never could.
We are generally allowed to choose how the mc feels about things though, so in my case SideStep may have wanted to be more like Herald and certainly be an official Ranger but due to reality and their particular circumstances interfering they never could. So that Herald can effortless (or at least seemingly effortlessly) do all of that has really got to sting, if you choose him as your rival.

I meant personality wise. Regardless of choice even Ortega notes they weren’t very approachable even then. Honestly it makes sense for them to be that way as well based on their past, but yeah it seems they were always intense.
Plus just look at the question thread. So how did your character handle the fight? Beat down or no?
Yeah plus I believe if you chose him as nemesis the sentence associated with the choice is “for being what I could never be”

True, but being a bit of an asshole and intense never stopped some “bad boy” rockstars from becoming wildly famous icons. Obviously even if SideStep could have been an out and proud hero they may never have become as famous or as much of an icon as Herald is and if they did they wouldn’t have done it in exactly the same way. But moody, intense and not very approachable “bad” boys can totally become icons. Just not if they are actually on the run and need to hide from black ops the mc needed to do.
I figured the bad boy thing was the whole appeal of Sidestep…

That’s good to know ! Maybe I should not alwayd play as a white male, I would probably notice more of these stuff. My next playthrough will probably be with the MC being an Asian woman. That should do it

I kinda felt bad for Ortega after the fight, my exoskeleton broke her whole arm. This strength upgrade seems pretty beast by the way, you can lift cars and attack armored opponents like Argent with it. It could even strike through Steel’s armor probably.
By the way is the MC ethnicity even real? I mean if you’re a re-gene you were just made in the farm and the whole ethnicity thing is all fake, you were just modeled to look like someone.

I really like the way you write, it kinda remind me HeroRise series, which i liked a lot. Unfortunatle, my english skill pretty bad so I can’t fully describe what I liked mostly in the story. Still, I really enjoyed Fallen Hero and really looking forward for the next part!

I don’t think is a Re-Gene honestly. I think the Farm is in the business of kidnapping telepaths with potential.
This is a world where telepathy is rare and the Enhanced are scoped out for military service if needed… And the Farm is an ultra-black arm of the intelligence apparatus…

If the mc was just a kidnapped child they could probably have risked telling Ortega at the very least, nobody likes people who kidnap and torture young kids after all. Yet the mc fears discovery and not just rejection but worse by even Ortega if it is discovered what they truly are and where they came from. Which still leads me to believe the mc is a cloned re-gene. The stock we came from was likely a kidnapped child once upon a time, but I don’t think the mc really is the original, maybe Hollow Ground is, while the puppet could even be a younger model from the same stock and model line. All in all I still think being a cloned re-gene makes the most sense since they are considered property rather than people. That the mc was designed as a leader or infiltration unit with telepathic powers and a normal skin-tone, instead of the more visibly altered combat models wouldn’t change that fact. As for the puppet and Hollow Ground being somewhat different, despite the similarities it is likely they would try to diversify each clone until they finally arrived at their ideal template, or abandoned the model line, which may already have happened if Locus is from the successor line.

I personally can’t wait for the ultimate reveal. In my canon playthrough, i actually have a pretty good relationship with everyone. Sure my MC “hates” Herald, but i hope that can change, even if it is a front. Ortega wants to be my wife, or at the very least girlfriend, I made Argent my friend, and I think a friendship with Steel could happen.
That’s only going to make the eventual reveal all the better. I want it to either be my helmet getting destroyed in a fight or a willing removal, only to see everyone’s shocked expressions. For Herald it would be crushing to see his idol is the supervillain he’s been hunting, Ortega sees how far the man she loves has fallen, Argent would be pissed that her “friend” has been lying to her, and Steel may will either be angry or crushed that the guy he actually started to like and trust has been lying the entire time.
It also helps that my MC is playing a tired, broken man who is only helping out because Ortega asked. It also be cool if we get brought in by the Rangers to “train” them against a telepath. like, do spars where your MC just constantly reads their minds. My MC would most definitely sabotage them is all I’m saying.

Just played through for the first time - wow, what a fantastic game! This, to me, kinda helps me see that I am more than happy to sacrifice some broad for some specific, if that makes sense. I really love having a main character with such a strong personality, well defined. I feel the same way about my favourite, Study in Steampunk. I know that for some people games that are more specific in this way, with fewer love interests, are less exciting but I am finding more and more that I’d rather more development and fewer options.
Also this is such a cool concept, the dual bodies thing - wow! I now have to go and try to play it like 5 more times to see all the scenes I’m sure I missed.

The Rangers unexpectedly come across some other telepath and are absolute putty in their hands because if anything you made it easier for them to get “breached”
[Technically my MC would probs be smart enough to make them vulnerable only to herself, but what my MC doesn’t know is she has a player pulling her strings who would totally screw her over for that extra extra angst]
