That is also a good theory; I mean, the MC is already establishing two different mindsets for themselves and their puppet. Maybe at some point the MC’s mind ‘fractures’ and one part imprints itself on the puppet, while the other stays int he original body.
Like her beard
What if both mindsets are ruthless monsters?
Even Ruthless can have differing behaviors. I mean, the ‘kill them all, and let [insert deity of preference] sort them out’ is different from someone who makes everyone slave under them.
Sera:“we can’t all be broody beards like you and Cassandra”
Blackwall:" Ha she doesn’t have the hair for it"
Sera:" Oh I bet she does…places"
Well puppet can be my masochistic pet.
I considered this as well. You can create a personality that you employ just for the puppet. Perhaps that is the part of you that is imprinted on the puppet; how you act and feel and behave as your puppet. That could be why they are awakening. You are slowly reconstructing their conscious mind through your possessions.
I miss the Inquisition
The only snafu I can see is that you’ve been using him for at least 2 years with no isssue
Perhaps the protagonist hasn’t been very observant with their puppet. We only find out that they have been dreaming when Ortega tells us in the hospital. If we were never told, would we have ever known? Maybe our puppet has been slowly creeping back into consciousness for months and we just didn’t notice.
Fair point. I guess what I mean is that you’d think they’d be further along by now
Still I can very much see you having a face to face with your puppet
Well, if your puppet eventually gains their independence, it does make one wonder if they will then become a romance option…
Don’t worry I’m already romancing them
I have been thinking about the supposed power displayed by the puppet. During the gambling scene, you, as the puppet, hear a song that gives you the correct number to bet on. I would not say this power is telepathy. It seems to be Precognition. The puppet effectively foresaw the future, in a manner of speaking.
The precognition was another reason I thought the puppet would develop their own mind/personality.
For that matter, if you are with Dr. Noctum, and she suggests that your ‘boss’ was trying to eliminate you, your body could react adversely to the news, even if she is your puppet.
Maybe that’s because I am horrified at the idea of destroying myself?
This made me laugh so hard. There seems to be a million different ways to screw up Ortega psychologically. I can’t wait to see what would be the worst possible combination. I haven’t played a game since guinevere, in which I can be a total a-hole to my love interest while romancing them.
Jeez am I the only merciful one here? I just want to Kill Ortega. Not drive her insane
You are not the only one. I also don’t try to manipulate them into a love triangle. Tho I also don’t want to kill them yet, not until it would seem absolutely necessary.
So far I have 2 MCs for this game: one of them “my main MC” still has feelings for them so obviously they wouldn’t want to kill the person they have feeling for (tho she is still okay with romancing Dr. Mortum when she uses Puppets body), the other MC wouldn’t want anything to do with Ortega (I keep her for the Lady Argent romance), but she remembers the past and thats why they also wouldn’t want to kill Ortega just stay away from them.
Now this sounds like an interesting idea. And I would totally go for them if they would be an RO.
Edit: I’m curious about something here: Am I the only one who likes Dr. Mortum more than Ortega? I think they obviously showed that even if the flirting might have been just about sex at the start by the end of the game they care more about the Puppet, otherwise I don’t think they would spent that much time with trying to talk Puppet out of working for a “bad boss”, and even tho they brought this up several times it never seemed forced to me just an advice which comes from personal experience. But what do we see when we concentrate on Ortega? If they “had a thing” with the MC in the past they try to get the MC back and they are still ready to show interest in Puppet. I don’t think it’s right to flirt with a stranger when you try to get your “ex” back… Well unless your feelings for the “ex” aren’t serious. And even their “help” seemed more forced as the times when Dr. Mortum tries to help Puppet.
