Fallen Hero: Rebirth is released - discussion thread! (Book One)

I want to kill Ortega for caring about me… Though if she keeps it up it’s going to be like Barry Allen’s optimistic spirit and good heart. Which will turn me into wanting to psychologically break her until she’s even more of a twisted monster than me. I also basically just want to kill my old heroic contacts. And then destroy the farm. Slowly torturing the scientists to death.

My canon run is actually fairly honest with Ortega and doesn’t manipulate anyone she doesn’t have to.

But there’s always the side run for the most dramatic angsty mess possible

The mc/ortega/puppet relationship was such a clusterfuck. I love it :joy:. And she built that love triangle all on her own but god if i am not hurting for my mc.

Then I guess there are differences between our MCs. My MCs would be content with pounding all their heroic contacts in the ground but still leaving them alive, kinda like they debuted in this book. And when it comes to the scientists I think both of my MCs would be pragmatic enough to just kill them instead of torturing them since killing is faster.

My MC is using the expletive ‘‘Fuck’’ and that’s pretty damn common so don’t think she’d manage to figure it out. So would be odd if she did. Also, when could you choose to curse as your puppet? Don’t remember such a scene.

Fuck maybe common But there is an option for a write in. Meaning in theory all options are as unique as say schmeckledorf. I don’t know if it’s in the game now but imagine if you slipped up as Puppet and said schmeckledorf when MC used that as Sidestep in front of Ortega.

that’s… fucked up.

now, i’m reminded of kill bill vol. 1’s own hospital scene haha

!!! !!! !!! !!!

MORTUM IS UNDERRATED AND UNDERAPPRECIATED AS HECK!!

they’re very intriguing on their own, have good banter w/ the puppet, and the romance is surprisingly sweet! idk if it’s just me but going all the way with mortum was poignant for one of my MCs who ended up dating him. something something with the MC hating their body and being closed off from relationships beyond friendship… until they finally fall for Mortum and “bare” themself. bonus points for this MC being male and having a female puppet he’s more comfortable as  even if the relationship is just on a puppet body / self, it’s a start.

(then again, there are also probably players who only slept with Mortum for manipulations so nvm haha)

anyway, my point about mortum’s character still stands. aside from the MC, mortum is the character whose past i am most interested in. their reaction to ortega, what they say about new beginnings, the plastic surgery and the acting, their warnings about the puppet’s “boss” because they used to be an assistant too, their overall philosophy –
all v interesting and it’s fun connecting the dots throughout playthroughs

just … … y’all better not sleep on dr. mortum istg :triumph:

me @ my main MC for being jealous of her own “self”:

Here’s my plan to dealing with argent you get to plant a suggestion in her mind to make her like you right? which will make romancing her easier in book 2, thus making her easier to manipulate and corrupt

What will happen when the puppet gains independence after you romance Dr.Mortum?
On one hand it was the puppet body that they romanced, on the other hand it was you who controlled it all along. I wonder what would they react like and how will the romance go, this could be really interesting.

Exactly why Ortega\Mortum clusterfuck is so good. Ortega is amazingly interesting character for being so bland at the first glance, and Mortum is pretty much the same but on villainy side. They’re both so good and complex I can’t wait for book 2 to spin that love clusterfuck around.

To my main MC (Sidious manipulative type), the puppet is the Mystic to my Magneto, the special dark operative. So I really want to keep her on my side even she get her independance (especially if she indeed is a precognitive)
Please don’t make me fight my Eden :’(

I doubt the puppet will grow conscious in the second game unless there is some optional will squashing.

I’d love having an option to put your puppet BACK into a coma if they start waking up :joy:

It could be cool if you’d just make the puppet body your own and your own body would be controlled by the puppet o.o
Probably not really possible but my character was more comfortable using the puppet body than his own. This way you’d still have the body and romance Dr.Mortum while the puppet could be an ally too.
Also imagine how Ortega would react when your body will be used by another person :stuck_out_tongue:

Pls no making Ortega sad ok

Yeah exactly, so it’d be really odd if she would take anything from both my MC and puppet using the word ‘‘Fuck’’, but then your expletive could also be something really specific like you said, where it wouldn’t make sense for her not to put the pieces together. So IMO it would be easier just to not have a variable that tracks that due to how varied and logical/illogical it could be.

Actually, , (looking at the code) there already is optional will squashing in this book. Very subtle, but there.

Basically every time you say you say something that reaffirms your identity in puppet’s body, by saying that you miss your own body, want your telepathy back, am loyal to yourself, etc.

First of all, I love the game, I really do. I do have an issue to report. I don’t know if it’s just me or not, but after an update for the game, your name in the game says Malin Rydén, which is really odd. It looked normal before then.

Is there a thread that talk more about watching at the code of a game? There are many games I would like to do that, to uncover more things to do

Yes, there’s a thread here for questions.
