Why is “white” not capitalized in the game when you select a race?

I can’t wait for it to be released!

I think I’ve read somewhere that the requirement to have Ortega as nemesis would be to choose them as my enemy in the dojo and to blow up the museum. I did both (and killed as many people as possible at the museum), yet I didn’t get the nemesis achievment cannsomeone tell me what I’m missing here?

Ok, so I hope this is helpful.

To have Ortega consider Sidestep’s villain persona their nemesis, you just have to kill people at the gala, you don’t necessarily have to blow up the museum, any kind of killing makes the villain Ortega’s nemesis.

also, even if you don’t kill, but attack the journalists during your fight, Ortega can come to consider villain their nemesis (but that can change if you get a chance to monologue from the heart to Ortega or trigger their epilepsy since those change Ortega’s relationship with the villain)

Sidestep considering Ortega their nemesis during Puppet’s training session doesn’t necessarily mean Ortega comes to consider Sidestep’s villain persona their nemesis, the villain’s actions affect that.

Also there’s no official achievement if Ortega considers villain their nemesis

So… The Nemesis achievment only pops up at the epilogue when it’s Lady Argent whom I target?

Yea, the Nemesis achievement that appears in Argent epilogue is tied to her.

But just to clarify, you don’t have to have Argent as your nemesis either to get the Nemesis achievement, just beating her in a fair fight or impressing her enough gets you that achievement.

Thank you. Now I feel ridiculous about how many replays I did just bc that achievment didn’t pop up when I was going for Ortega (or it did pop up, but not where I expected it to)

Just snooping around on here and even though this is old, I still wanted to say congrats! The game looks super interesting and I can’t wait to play it! All the stories on here honestly are so fascinating this is great.

Hello, I don’t know if any of this has already been answered, but I don’t have the courage to go through 3000+ posts

I first wanted to know how does one get to see the sharks in Lady argent’s mind ? I have played the game several times and I only know it’s possible bc of the Book 2 demo when I make my character. Same for the sewer fight, I don’t get how we can see her naked or see the strangeness in her eyes.

And also, can we name ourselves Heartbreak ? Do you get some special lines if you do ? I always love the other’s reaction to naming myself so I am ashamed to say I have only thought of that now :stuck_out_tongue: I am playing the game again but it would suck to get at the end and be told no bc of some stat

I am tired and will sleep soon, but I think I have made detailed answers that I hope will prove useful.
I will check later when I wake up whether I had made a mistakes in any of the notes but right now my tired brain is telling me I have checked everything

Tell if don’t work

(writing these to the summary section in case someone doesn’t want to read these)

How to see the sharks in Lady Argent’s mind :

Summary

One way is when you get the option what kind of telepathy you want to use to influence her mind: subtlety/subtle manipulation or force/strength of mind, you choose the option “I dive deep, trying to cut out what needs to be gone and insert new alternative” while having either force telepathy to be less than 60% or having Argent friendship be less than 30% in which case you fall into the water and can get an option to see the sharks

The second way (which I think it’s bit more complicated) is to choose the option “I try to stay aloft, keeping a light touch as I repaint her memories.” while having subtle manipulation be less than 60% or having Argent friendship be less than 30% and villainy/ruthlessness more than 20% , in which case her mind tries to attack you.
Now, in that scenario the quickest way to get to the option that can lead you to see the sharks is to choose the option: “I try to evade their capture” in which case you automatically fall into the water where you can see the sharks.

How to see Argent naked:

Summary

Choose to have her as nemesis during puppet training session and when fighting against her at the gala, choose the option “I’ve studied her; I know how to take her down”

How to see the strangeness of Lady Argent’s eyes:

Summary

Again, there are couple ways to go about it…

  1. Choose to use your telepathy to defeat Lady Argent in the sewers.
If you choose to use subtlety, you need to have subtle telepathy to be less than 70% and not have the telepathic boosters upgrade.
Or if you choose to use brute force, you need to have force less than 70% and not have the telepathic boosters
(this route also leads to Sidestep trying to flee from Lady Argent)

  2. choose to try and fight her in a real fight instead of using your telepathy (unless she caughts up to you before you notice her, then it is automatically real fight).
Do not be a fighter and have daring over 70%, Sidestep will defeat her (it’s very cool)
Otherwise Sidestep will end up getting caught by Argent in which case they use their telepathic powers.
Now, to see her eyes strangeness, you need to have telepathic boosters upgrade in your armor and you need to either have subtlety over 75% or force over 75%

Thanks !! That’s a very clear guide!

Good to know! Hope the guide helps :slightly_smiling_face:

I looked over the guide again, it should be accurate, but do tell if still fail, I’ll check if made a mistake with anything

It is about MC or the puppet? : D

Depends on Ortega’s relationship with Sidestep and Puppet.

Argent will say Ortega is in love if they are flirting with Puppet or if Ortega’s relationship with Sidestep is “It’s complicated”.

I guess if there is something romantic going on with both Puppet and Sidestep, then it’s about both of them?

What does the “puppetmaster” scar mean? I know the others mean revenge and hedonism and such, but I’m confused on this one.

Hmm I guess the short definition for puppetmaster is that Sidestep learned how to control and manipulate others.
I would also add that for Sidestep themself the puppetmaster scar feels very strongly tied to the desire to stay in control, that as long they’re controlling and manipulating others, they don’t risk the chance of being used or betrayed.

Someone know how to get the ‘A Blow to Their Pride’ achievement? I tried a couple of times but can’t get that one

Simply beat the rangers in every single fight and but herald in the hospital

“Blow to Their Pride” achievement is about managing to weaken Rangers reputation.

Here, decided to make a quick guide how to do it (there are several chances to weaken the reputation):

Chapter 1:

Summary
  • no matter whether you chose to get the nanovores as Sidestep or by using a puppet, choose to stay and observe the argument between Chen/Marshal Steel and the LDPD

  • Choosing the option “I will start spreading rumors that the Rangers are loose cannons” will lower Rangers reputation regardless whether you choose that option as Sidestep or temporary Puppet.

  • If you went to get the nanovores as Sidestep, choosing the options “I will telepathically encourage him to remember this slight” will weaken Rangers reputation. Or choosing the option “I will telepathically push him to escalate this confrontation further” and then choosing the option “This could easily escalate into a riot if I play my cards right” will weaken Rangers reputation.

Chapter 8

Summary

-Go to the gala alone as Puppet and then choose to withdraw from the party instead of observing the displays.
-When Puppet meets Mia Ochoa, there are several lines before they get the option for dialogue that will lower Rangers reputation. But eventually there will be an dialogue option “Is it about Lady Argent’s rampage?”. Choosing that will lower Rangers reputation.

Chapter 9

Summary

The options in chapter 9 to lower Rangers reputation depend heavily on what Sidestep chose as their reason for attacking the gala.
But for Sidestep’s gala attack reasons, choosing to either rob the museum or destroy your past has possibilities to lower Rangers reputation

-When you get inside the museum gala, choose the option to make civilians cower before you instead of sending the crowd away.

  • if you chose to remove your past, telepathically manipulate civilians to destroy the hero displays (this will also reveal you as a telepath). Then when Herald attacks you, Sidestep will telepathically make the civilians attack him.

  • If you chose to rob the museum, choose the option “I have some people fill the bag as I steal the crowd’s expensive jewelry.” Herald will attack you bit recklessly, you’ll crash into a glass model, and civilians will be injured by the broken glass.

  • Also, if your Puppet met Mia Ochoa and even if you send the crowd away, there is a chance for Sidestep to make contact with Mia Ochoa. Same thing will happen if you chose the option to steal jewelry. Herald will try and ram Sidestep, Sidestep crashes into a glass mode, and Mia will be injured by the glass.

If anything feels unclear or feel like need better elaboration etc, do tell.

Oh, also just to clarify, you don’t need to choose every option to lower the reputation. Even if you only choose one of these options (for example “spreading a rumor about the Rangers”), you should still get the achievement “Blow to Their Pride” (unless you accidentally manage to strengthen Rangers reputation)

It’s easier than I thought, thanks!
