@817819: I’m sorry to hear it didn’t work out. It’s tough to start a new business, and no one would say starting a restaurant isn’t one of the most challenging. I’ve seen successes in my circles, but many more that couldn’t continue, and there are too many factors you can’t guarantee.

Saying that was hard of course doesn’t automatically make every other type of work easy. What I mean when I make the analogy is “if a cookie is worth $4 in terms of what I, the person craving oatmeal raisin, want to invest, so is a game when I want to ram some tall ships into each other.” Some people might be saying “a game should cost more than a cookie” or vice versa.

Sorry again that the family business didn’t turn out well. I hope things have been/will be better.

If only perfect price discrimination worked and wouldn’t be illegal.

Yeah it’s odd to me that people say these gamebooks aren’t worth $1-5. I’d even pay a few dollars more than that for the ones like Life of a Wizard and Sabres of Infinity.
