The problem here is time, in chapter 2 you waste a lot of time speaking with Leah, while if you speak with Gilly, you can do a lot more. And Gilly gives more clues, and with Leah you need to have others clues to maximize.
If you speak with Leah, I doubt you will have the to fight against the
Centipede

Dallying with Daisy/Dandy in chapter 2 is the single biggest time waster in terms of clues, but she’s so much fun that it’s hard not to indulge…
As for clues, Leah provides more clues than Gilly, but Gilly has some clues that in chapter 2 are available only from her, namely 6-1 and 7-2. So she’s a necessity for those wishing to max out the end of chapter stat bonus. She’s also the easy way to get 1-5. (The other way is to do the divination ritual with a very high magic score.)
The difference is that you can talk with Daisy after the fight, but if you waste a lot of time with Leah you can’t fight.
And I don’t think Leah gives you more clubes, the only clue she can give you that Gilly can’t is Clue_10 2, but you can find the letter in the office that gives you the same Clue.
While Gilly gives you Clue_1 5 (Leah gives you Clue_1 4) and She is the only one who can give you Clue_6 1.
But why I should care about so many clues. Role play wise has no sense. Character did not receive anything if have more clues there is nothing rewarding in story to get all no more prestige or a treasure or even a special perk to use in other games. So Mara just save her romnce choice and get out there. I would love if it were somwthing like authorities give you areward if you save everyone or selling a wood chunk to a mage doing a staff.
There is a question you can ask Gilly if you already have 5-1, but as far as chapter 2 is concerned she doesn’t actually give you any levels in clue 5.
I do it because I find it fun to search for as many clues as possible. And you receive a bonus on your stats if you find a lot of clues.
And while you can’t get a reward, you can steal a lot of money while being in the Inn, that is how my Dwarf rented room in a luxiriousiInn in Lux, for him and Daisy.
So working on the sequel to Evertree it would be really helpful to see what kind of stats people had at the end of their playthrough. In particular the combat, guile, perception and magic scores and what race and backstory you chose (duelist, assassin, druid etc.) If anyone has time and felt like sharing those with me that would be great
And of course, I love to know any other details of your characters and their adventures. It’s always great to know how people made the story into their own!
I tried the Axe, but it tried to kill me later.
And I think my character height is 1,40m (it you choose the muscular body, you are taller than the others members of your race), I doubt the sword is double the size of my dwarf. He is not a halfling.
Don’t know if this is the right place to put this but when I tried to pay for the rest of the chapters at the very beginning, I went through the demo only to find that it hadn’t gone through and apparently “web has been moved” which I don’t really understand… help.please!
EDIT, it’s also says file not available and is not allowing me to restore my purchase.
Actually, according to most fictional worlds that contain such races (Tolkien for example), dwarves and halflings have more or less the same height as one another. If there is a difference then it is minimal.
So just downloaded the game and I have to say I really like it so far, the one draw back was that I couldn’t romance my half orc buddy. Dandy and the son (oh geez I’ve forgotten the name) were cool characters but he interested me the most. Anyway awesome game, keep up the good work
