Development of the first proper Profession of Estheria: A Realm Divided has commenced.
Wrapping up work for the night. A lot happened today in the realm.
February 11, 2026:
- Work on glossary to begin implementing blacksmithing information.
- Temp variable initialization and code commenting in blacksmithing file.
- Determined opening formulas for curving blacksmithing XP.
- Added segue into blacksmithing tutorial.
- Developed blacksmithing order text-imagery/ui placement.
Once blacksmithing is ready to go, I will be reaching out privately with a build that allows for the testing of blacksmithing via CogDemos to several people should they wish to test things.
All in good time. ![]()
Been swamped at my actual job today, but work will happen for a few hours before bed.
Ahead of that, let’s throw in a poll to see what you’re looking forward to the most! This time, it’s multiple choice! If you want multiple things here, let me know! You’ve got up to three choices. ![]()
- Blacksmithing!
- Exploring Stones Hollow and the surrounding areas!
- Meeting the RO’s!
- Shopping!
- Choosing your class and getting to use class-based choices in environments!
- Discovering more about the Prophecy of the Lost!
- Reading and exploring the Compendium and Kingdom Lore!
All of them
Yes All of them
All of them, though I am a lore junkie. I’ve delved way too deep into star wars and Warhammer lore.
My answer for this RPG is the same for any other RPG: The story/plot, the characters (yes, the ROs. But also the other characters), and seeing the different choices, paths, and character customization interactivity.
You’ll have plenty of that to contend with, especially in the upgraded Kingdom Lore sections!
Update One will contain plenty of story. Two Stories (Side Quests) are expected on my docket, relationship introductions, and a portion of main plot.
For my weekend, my priority is going to be the core gameplay loop of Blacksmithing. I’ve figured out most of the core logic I’ll be reliant on, so once I have it tested (despite knowing going forward it’s going to be wildly unbalanced at first) I’ll be hooking up some core content tied to the Guild of the Forge. We’ll sort out the ranking system this weekend too, if I have the time.
Hey all!
I’ve been a bit sick so progress has been slow. I do want to make sure I reassure you that development is still going. My MS unfortunately… is MS sometimes haha. Have been in a bit of a crap gap so to speak.
Either way, I’ve managed to get some blacksmithing work done, and I am doing some plotwork today. Hoping to use the burst of energy I have to get about 2,500 words in today if I can!
Hey, everyone!
Still a touch sick, but we’re going. I have only managed to add about 4,500 words in the last week, but I am doing my best.
I just wanted to touch base and let you know progress is still occurring.
Howdy heroes!
Stopping in to give a bit of an update where we’re at:
My health has been bad. Unfortunately I’ve had some pretty severe inflammatory responses going on with my MS that has destabilized a lot of things from my heart-rate to my blood-sugars to blood pressure and everything in between.
I am working as fast as possible on that, and have been poked and prodded more times than I want to admit.
During that time, I’ve felt pretty sick. Truthfully too sick to easily focus and work in my chair on my PC. Estheria has not had much done.
That said. No other project has received work, and I am committed to this one, and especially to delivering a strong Update One.
My hope is that this tide can pass within the next 1-2 weeks and that it doesn’t drag on beyond that, and that I can swing things full steam ahead again.
In the meantime, I hope I can do little tidbits here and there. Even if it’s 500 words a day, progress is progress.
Nonethelesss, once we’re back to the swing of things, there’ll be a demo tied to blacksmithing that’ll be a chopped up build that directly takes you into the blacksmithing tutorial and access to contracts. My hope is that this will follow within a couple of weeks of being full steam ahead or less.
Thank you for your interest in the project, and I hope that I can continue to hammer on things soon enough.
Hey, everyone!
In the last 15 days, I have added another 7000 words. I have been still ill, but we are making progress. My hope is to return with daily updates soon enough as soon as this clears (which has involved multiple doctor visits and specialist referrals to escalate my MS management).
